Eczema is usually a dairy allergy. There are some other great things to sub for him like almond milk, rice cheese, almond ice cream. Look around!

Hi Grammy I need help. I think I will have to quit the HCG Diet after only 8 VLCD. I have to do a 3 day Diabetes fasting test starting Next Wednesday. I will have a diet that i have follow plus 3 bottles of this juice i have to drink. Nothing is protocol. Doctor thinks i may have developed diabetes from previous test. My hypo... has not reset yet. What should I do? should I just keep taking injections on through everything. And go back on protocol afterwards or should i do a interruption. I know the book says atleast 23 injections before a interruption. I was thinking that I would stop the injections and eat only P3 foods which for me will be basically the P2 diet foods multiplied. I'm down 9.6 lbs I hate to gain it all back. I wonder if the injections will interfere with the test results. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks Grammy

    Hi Grammy,

I went through Round 1 and was losing, and then I had an unrelated medical event that forced me to quit quite early. I also put *some* weight back on due to medication and forced bed rest, etc.

I've not yet found anyone to explain the reason for the extremely low fat diet while on hCG. Has it got to do with the hypothalamus re-setting? During Round 1, my most consistent weight drops were when I kept calories low, focused on protein, and avoided all carbs except for allowed veggies- smothered in butter, bulletproof coffee, etc. I'm also assuming part of the issue is that it's hard to be low calorie and get enough nutrition if you are in something close to a ketogenic diet. I was factoring in some of the research included in HCG 2.0, and so I precisely calculated my protein requirements, took supplements- the works. I've also read Pounds and Inches 3 times, and I understand the part about patients coming in with lists and arguments. At the same time, keeping high fat and very low carbs while on hCG accelerated the weight loss and I felt best physically when I did so.

I recently started Round 2, after ending Round 1 early, so I had enough time off to try again. I was on protocol, but had a few days sprinkled in as ketogenic as possible, and I'm finding the same thing. So I'm wondering what the reason is for not factoring newer research that suggests that low fat diets are leading to more weight gain, whereas diets like Atkins or Paleo that induce ketosis are easier to lose weight on? I did very well on full ketogenic regimen alone, except that I'd hit a plateau and couldn't move past it. My weight gain is usually centered on my waistline, and I'm also very muscular. The best weight loss and especially inches lost have been on ketogenic + hCG. But I don't know the long term effect of combining them and am wondering if you had any experience or thoughts on very low-fat protocol vs. high fat/rogue. I've checked here and many other sites and have found two people who combined them, but they are fairly old posts and no one has ever replied when I asked about it.

I'm not trying to be a smartass; you are an expert and I'm really asking if trying that way will lead to any long-term problems.

    Thank you!

kdannell, I'd stop for now then begin again when you can. You'll need to wait the 72 hours for the hcg to get out of your system. Good luck!

sagefox, what I've seen in the years I've spent here on the forum is that hcg makes you very sensitive to fats so for many of us, we simply can't lose weight when eating the fats on hcg. I tried adding MCT oil to one round while taking out the fruits as a favor to a paleo doctor friend. It was a colossal failure with poor losses and I regained what little I lost. Plus long term ketogenic diets don't do well for the majority of women. It ends up affecting the thyroid and adrenals which need some carbs for proper functioning.

There is a post in the Boxing Ring of women who are trying a Siesta Beach protocol with higher hcg and an adkins approach, but it's too early to see how it will work for them. I don't recommend that direction from what I've seen here though. I've seen plenty of people cut out all their fruits in P2, then continue it in P3. After a few weeks they start gaining weight and can't stop it and they find out their thyroid and/or adrenals have tanked.

Hcg was designed for OBESITY, not primarily for losing twenty pounds that someone could lose another way. It's for extreme cases and works in a specific way.

But it's your body and you can do whatever you like. If something else works for you, that's up to you. But I never personally recommend it because I've seen too many problems. hope that helps.

Thanks for your reply. I do have thyroid and adrenal issues, so I'm keeping that in mind. The carbs I get are entirely from veggies and fruits. I'm oversensitive to carbs; I eat one cracker, I gotta have another and it messes with my digestive system.

I do have more than 20 pounds to lose, and it completely concentrates in my belly. One reason I was attracted to hCG is that it protects muscle and I definitely have the abnormal fat, including the triangle between my upper arm and torso.

I'm going to think all this over, and I guess I will do more research and also check in and let everyone know how it's going. I really appreciate you answering right away!

Need help with information on where to order hcg pellets. What companies have worked best for most people with much success?

Hi Grammy I have a dosing question. I'm on hhcg doing .5ml 3 times a day. They are true hhcg and have done rounds several times. I took my first dose around 6:15am today and am having some hunger already. It's best to skip the next 2 doses right? Trying to remember from the days of dose adjusting before. Thanks!
