I don't know which way to take you, marmar. How long have you been on it?
Hi Grammy,
I really need some help. I started my vlcd today. This my 8th or 9th round. The last 2 rounds my dose was 80ius. This time i started with 100iu subq. I know u suggested IM but I don't feel comfortable with longer needles.
I always used psifasi this time m using ovidac. Today i had a terrible headache and usually in previous rounds when i have my apple i feel so full. I ve been having hunger feelings through out the day. Even now i had dinner almost 2 hr ago. Is my dose too high or too low?
I feel a lil week too. I stopped the coffee now i drink tea. I don't eat the melba toast.
I could sleep all day.
I don't know which way to take you, marmar. How long have you been on it?

It's too soon to know which way to move your dose or even if your dose needs moved, marmar. The first day is often a hungry day. I'd stay on the 100 for now if it were me. Good luck!

You need to wait at least 6 weeks after ending your round.

Grammy,
I know that HCG causes the thyroid to work more efficiently. Does this also apply to those of us that do not have a thyroid? Does it cause our meds to work better?
Thanks,

I don't really know, kay. I haven't talked to anyone without a thyroid and the effects they feel.

Thank you Grammy. I know that a lot of folks have to lower their thyroid dose while on HCG. I wondered if that applied to those without a thyroid or those that had RAI. Do we still need to wait 6 weeks after a round to test thyroid levels?
Thanks so much,
Kay

Thanks Grammy,
I'm going to assume since there is no thyroid, it can't be helped or hurt by HCG. And.....I will wait 6 weeks after my round to test levels.
Thanks again,
Kay

I've been thinking (a big problem for me when on HCG lol), and I was wondering about the advances in science since Dr. S came out with the HCG protocol. Some of the new programs you see, you can tell from having read P&I that the designers just don't get it and are trying to adjust for non-existent issues. Others seem to have some validity to them, but short of getting degrees in nutrition and internal medicine, I'm not sure how to assess if they're really on the right path. It's not just a matter of "this food has x carbs, x fat grams, and x protein, so it's okay". It's how the food reacts in your body and with the HCG. My tendency is to stick with the old thing, as Dr. S seems to know what he's talking about. However, it's been what, 50? 60? years since he wrote P&I, and it seems that we should know some things that could be taken advantage of and implemented into the program. Are there some doctors you like, who seem to have some insight? What do you think of some of the new protocols? Any general thoughts on the matter?
Thanks for all you do for this forum.![]()
