Thread: Grammy's Lifetime Stabilizers

I'm not usually so chatty. I found the list I saw before on Dr. K's FAQs. It's probably on the forum somewhere, but here is what he wrote:

How do I know when I am no longer leptin resistant?

Changes in appearance: Your hair and nails will improve in color and presentation. Your pedicurist will notice you have less dead skin on your feet. Your face will look a lot better, with softer skin and better color, especially if you use olive oil or coconut oil on your skin.

Changes in mood, personality, and thoughts: You will become more thoughtful, more mindful, and less explosive in explosive environments. If you decide to add mindfulness to your reset, (you should) you will notice tremendous changes in your thinking and your ability to learn and comprehend things. Your insight, intuition, and mental acuity will be sharper. Also, your sexual desires will change and your libido will awaken. Your spouse will begin to notice things and treat you differently.

Changes in appetite: Your carbohydrate cravings will go away. You’ll feel full and not really need to eat three meals a day. You’ll notice your taste and smell change.

Changes in energy and sleep: Over 6-12 months, expect your energy to gradually improve. You will feel warmer and exude body heat, but your body temperature will actually be lower. It will continue to trend lower over the next 18-24 months while you thyroid settles into its new biologic groove. Dramatic improvements will be made in your sleep. Both migraines and muscle soreness from exercise will decrease.

Yikes! Maybe, just maybe, I AM leptin sensitive!

Another factor Dr K has listed elsewhere is no soreness after muscle exertion. I was sore for 2 days after an afternoon of digging in the flower beds, so even though I have some of the other symptoms, that one still says I am not yet there.

    Good late afternoon all,
I feel like I am going back and forth for a virus. One day my throat hurts the next it doesn't. I can tell I am getting for the 'one week till TOM' for yesterday and today I was hungry at lunch. I also noticed I am 'looking' in the pantry, not hungry but needing something. I fear as I get closer it will be chocolate again. Would really love to kick that habit. This morning's weight put me at .2 gain and making me 116.8...all good....in fact, this close to TOM and to be in the 116's in unheard of for me, even during the summer when I had no weight fluctuations.

    take care everyone

question for all those leptin veterans and maybe this is the wrong place...I am finding that I am more hungry. I know, I know...ME? It is true...now part of this might be because of the one week before TOM...but I am wondering if anyone else noticed that after being on the LR for a week or so their appetite increased? I know Grammy is concerned I am not getting enough calories and I am starting to agree with her on that train of thought. I am getting around 1000 a day so far, some days a bit less, some days a bit more and getting between 40 -50 grams of protein in the AM. Just wondering...

If you are hungry, EAT. Protein, of course, but also CO. 1000 calories a day seems rather little. I also get hungry on the third week of my cycle - that's usually my heads up that TOM is coming. No real way to fight it, just eat stuff that is good for you during the meal times (no snacking).

That's good! I think your appetite is coming back so your body is actually listening to hunger signals.

Wow! I'm down 2# this morning! Maybe the no-nuts-thing really IS working out for me. I don't know how to explain it, but I liiiikes it! This puts me 2.2# under ldw and 2.4# away from my goal.

Hey Brick, I do remember noticing that I actually started feeling hungry. Before that, it was mostly just, "Hmm..I want something.." then looking for something to eat (snack). Now, I've been ready for my meals and satisfied in-between. This is great!

I hope so. It isn't like I was bothered by how much I ate before, ( or how little) but I knew it wasn't really enough to be healthy. I watched my mom my entire life with struggling to eat just a banana the whole day. I saw her attitude and how depressed she was. Some of that is just who my mom is, but no doubt her body is craving more food and nutrients...and that has to affect her attitude.

Good morning all, got an 'early' start to my day...got the in laws stopping by...Up .2 on scale today which puts me at 117. Still not worried about it. This is the week to see my climb due to TOM. I am interested to see what happens after TOM. Will I drop back as I did before in the summer, or will it take 2 weeks again? Every day is a chance to learn something new I guess, as long as I pay attention and ask the questions. ( Can you tell I homeschool my group? LOL!) While the in laws are here, my oldest has a college class and we are one car short today, so I am car pooling with him. While he is in class I am off to a Reiki session. Balance, it is all about balance in my life...

    Have a wonderful day all.

    Hi,

Since this is a thread about stablization I figured I would ask this here. When getting to your goal weight did you make sure you were the same weight for a couple days before moving onto P3. I am still in P2 and very close to my goal weight (see sig). I am hoping to do it in this round only. At this point I can move onto P3 whenever I chose, but I do not want to do it at a super LDW only to be doing nonstop corrections. How would most handle this? Thanks
    [B]HCG 10/14 start date - HCG Pellets
    Start weight 131.2
    Load weight 133.2 (+2lbs)
    Goal Weight 120 (maybe 118/ultimate goal 115)

    12/9 currently in P3
    LDW 120
    Current weight 118.4
