    Help eating out

I have to eat out to celebrate this weekend and I don't know what to do. I've done really well thus far and I've lost a little over 15lbs but this weekend I have to go out to dinner. I don't know what to get and would love some pointers to get me through. Thank you in advance.

If I have to eat out when on P3, I usually choose fish because even if a bit of oil makes its way onto the food, it's still very low in fat. Broccoli can work also even though it's not on protocol.

Do you request the food without butter or oil and do they typically adhere to it?

I do request food without butter or oil and they very often do adhere to that, but not always. I don't know where you are eating, but if they have something like shrimp ****tail (without sauce), lobster or crab legs, those are good options. You can also get lettuce salad and squeeze lemon on it for dressing. Some places even have plain strawberries for dessert - well, they usually come with whipped cream, but just omit it.

I agree about ordering fish I do ask them to broil dry or with lemon but they don't always do it if it seems like they used oil you can just blot out the excess Salad with vinegar or lemon will be good th I've ordered steamed broccoli or spinach

My experience is that the safest choice is shrimp ****tail and sliced tomatos if you don't want plain lettuce ( I never do) or they don't have plain steamed spinach (they hardly ever do). Also, if you have your own ****tail sauce, you're not mixing veggies if you have that and the sliced tomatos too, so it makes a pretty nice dinner. Shrimp ****tail usually comes with lemon, and you can dress your "salad" with salt & pepper at the table.

The next best choice is broiled white fish. You have to ask for salt & pepper & fresh herbs only and then trust them not to put anything else on it. That's usually iffy, because the chef wants his stuff to taste good, so they will rationalize and decide that "just a little sprinkle of this and that" won't hurt anything. Almost all chicken or steak choices will be marinated.
