I have no gallbladder and just got Radical Metabolism by Ann Louise Gittleman. Very interesting stuff about how closely tied gallbladder problems are with low thyroid and how metabolism is so tied to your liver and gallbladder. She's got some suggestions on fixing that problem and I'm going to try them. Things like digestive bitters, bitter veggies, certain fats like flaxseed oil and pine nut oil.

I love any solutions that are whole and natural. My new supplements are all whole plant, organic, wild crafted, synthetic free. No more over the counter vitamins. Vitamin c is made of absorbic acid and corn syrup.
Ive been in the process of getting rid of all my make up with parabens. Trying to fix that i dont have any hormones as well. Had hysterectomy at 32.

You mention you had a hysterectomy which is why I asked. Even if they left in your ovaries, they usually fail within about 5 years from surgery because of the lack of blood supply. So that could be a very important piece to your weight issues.

Hi Grammmy, I'm back again for another round! What part do bioidentical hormones play? I do take estriol and progesterone. I have maintained my weight for a year and a half; now want to lose 10-15 more pounds to reach goal! Am worried about hairloss this round and think it to be due to hormones as well. Will supplement with callagen, hair/nail vitamins, multi-vitamin (would like a name brand suggestion) and maybe krill oil?? thanks and Happy New Year ahead!

happy new year! Bioidentical hormones play a role in keeping your weight stable. When you struggle to maintain, it's often hormone related. You might supplement with biotin as well to help with any hair loss issues. Good luck!

    Thanks, Grammy!
I should just be happy to have maintained at 178 and been pretty content (found a balance) with hormones for a year and a half!!! BUT, I continue to want to drop a few more! On the fence now about doing another round! Thank YOU for answering all my questions since 2015 when I started to drop this weight~

Grammy, you mentioned that not eating enough & too low carbs on P3 is not advisable. I believe that’s been my issue in previous rounds. That’s why I’m now on another round to maintain. I feel like a yo yo & can’t seem to stabilize well. So how do you suggest to re-introduce carbs on P3?

You need to make sure you get your fats up and plenty of protein in P3. I usually do 1 fruit on P3 and don't add starchy veggies until P4. But even more than that, test the "iffy" foods for 3 days at a time in P3. So add dairy for 3 days for example and watch your weight to see if the dairy is an underlying problem. Same with soy, shellfish, and nuts.
