Hunger the day AFTER a skip day.

Hi Grammy, I started this round (#4) last week and Friday was my first skip day. Since starting the round, I've felt pretty good and my losses have been decent (6 pounds). I've been injecting 145 IUs. I was actually okay on my skip day and didn't feel hunger. Today, however, I felt a bit "empty" this morning before injecting (which was around 10:00 a.m). After injecting and having my breakfast shake which was about 11:00 a.m., I was okay for awhile, then started feeling hungry again. I had my lunch a few hours after that (around 3:30 - salad. chicken, a rice cake and some strawberries) and then a few hours later was hungry again. I just had dinner (leftover chicken, broccoli and some more strawberries) and now I feel hungry again

I'm assuming I should adjust my dosage, but I don't know whether I should go up or down. Perhaps my loss of 6 pounds has made a difference???

What should I do? Thanks for your help.

You aren't following protocol by the way. Rice cakes and broccoli are not on protocol. Rice would spike your blood sugar way more than I would want to see. It sounds like your dose is a bit high. Try going down to 125 iu. Good luck!

Thanks so much, Grammy! I will reduce the dosage and see.

I know rice cakes and broccoli are not on the original protocol list. I find that list way too limited for me. No can do. Broccoli is on the expanded food lists, though. I don't eat grissini or Melba in general because of gluten (Melba, BTW, doesn't even exist where I live). When I did my first round, it was suggested by one of the other mods here that I eat a rice cake instead of the grissini/melba. I dropped 30 pounds in that round

Also, given that I'm dealing with Adrenal Fatigue, I don't want to eliminate it. I think the fruits and that one little starch are important components of this regimen.

Just know that anytime you ask me anything, I'll be talking about the original protocol. LOL No one escapes the lecture about it. Rice cakes have more carbs and calories than the melba. But you can do what you like, of course. If I were going to sub out the grain (which I think is highly unimportant) I'd likely sub in a starchier veggie and see how I did (like maybe carrot or sweet potato) trying to match the carb count as closely to the melba as possible. But it's your call.

    Hope the dose adjustment helps!

    LOL Of course!

You know, the suggestion to sub the grain for some sweet potato is not a bad idea at all. It might actually be more beneficial. I just have to think about what I can do in P3. I know no starch allowed at all. Maybe add an extra fruit?

The lower dosage, BTW, is a big help. Thank you! I hardly had any desire to even eat today

I've been a big proponent of keeping in enough carbs to protect your adrenals and thyroid so I'm really glad you're doing that. Some do fine with sweet potatoes or pumpkin in P3. So you can just watch your weight and see if you're one of them. They are excellent for your adrenals and thyroid. Or just eat more fruit.

I remember reading where you've written how important that is, and because of that, I've kept the fruits, at least, in all my previous P3's -- usually grapefruits and berries. NO rice cake, of course. I will give the pumpkin/sweet potato a try and see (just a little bit) and, of course, watch the scale.
