Down another pound today! I'm at 5.4 in 4 days of dieting.![]()
I've noticed that in my first week, I lose about half of what my total loss will be. So If I get anywhere near 10, I know its going to be a good round.
Great report!

Down 8 pounds my first week. I'll take it! I'm going to do 25 days. We are taking our granddaughter on a trip out west and it's too hard to stick to a diet while eating out every meal. P3 isn't hard to do but the 500 calorie one is.
I will start a round after July 4th. Did a short round in March but didn’t seem to do too well with maintenance. Believe I had long covid after Dec but in May started feeling normal. No shortness of breath or heart palpitations so feeling good.
I think I do best with maintenance on 30 day round.

Good luck, Rose!
Hi Grammy,
I was thinking about you the other day, and it's nice to see you back for whatever the reason is. Many of us frequent users have dropped off a bit over the past year especially, but I occasionally drop in silent just to see how Leez and Rose are doing. Pearlie has done a great job taking over my Lovely Losers, since I decided to step away for a higher education effort that became all consuming last year.
I actually lost lbs on loading days the last round I did with high fat/low carb which included lots of Keto (no sugar) ice cream, nuts/nut butters, fried fish and chicken cooked in duck fat, pork chops and bacon cooked in lard, and various kinds of cheese.
Good Luck on your round. How much do you need to lose at this time?

It's so good to see you, sdwis! Since this is a short round, I was hoping for 12 pounds. I'm already at 10 and have another week to go so I think I'll make it. I'll do another normal round in August. It's been a very stressful week. I had cataract surgery last Thurs and got one of the new multifocal lenses. Big mistake for me. I can't see close at all and even distance is blurry. I go again today for the other eye which is the one I use to read and work on the computer. I'm not going to risk it on another multi one so I'll get one for close work. If this other eye doesn't clear up in another week, I'm going to have them trade it out for a distance lens and I'll stick with monovision which is what I've done for many years. I told them over and over again it was of paramount importance that I could write with the new lenses yet when I went to see my regular eye dr he told me that multi lens isn't good at what they call and intermediate range like computer work. What? It's crazy they didn't tell me it wouldn't work for that! I guess they wanted the money for the upgraded lens more than they wanted to give me what I wanted.
How is school going?
I actually completed my Master's Degree and actually graduated just last month.
I'm taking some time this summer to do a lot of traveling (Northern & Southern California, Lake Tahoe, Wilmington and Asheville NC, and capping it off the week of Labor Day with a 7 day Mediterranean (France & Spain) Cruise. I missed out on all the travel during the covid years, which was the time I used to earn that Masters Degree, but trying to catch up before the next big wordly calamity comes along.
I'm also proud to say I've only gained about 10 lbs. back over the past year, and also that the covid vaccine two years ago seemed to cure me of all the food sensitivities I had developed over the past few years. I'm so happy to be able to eat all kinds of berries, cottage cheese, peppers, salmon, and pork again without the swelling and inflammation they use to cause.
Take care of those eyes, we need you to keep cranking out those wonderful books of yours![]()

Hey Coco, Congrats on your graduation! And how sweet to be able to travel again.
I recently moved from MI to northern Utah, still unpacking and settling in. But I can't wait to start exploring my beautiful new state.
Hi Grammie, thanks so much for your post about your cataract surgery. I have no idea when I'll need it, but as a very highly nearsighted person who had lasik, I fear it will be difficult to get the right implants. My sister had one eye done with a multifocal implant, and she too used monovision before. She is happy with her choice, but her other eye hasn't needed surgery yet.
Your travel plans sound absolutely awesome!! We are taking our granddaughter on a trip to SD and WY up to Yellowstone starting next weekend. Travel for P3 wouldn't be my choice normally but I should be able to stick to it pretty easily and it was either that or wait totally until August and I wanted to get 2 rounds in before Sept.
gZ9gjg, I know plenty of people who have liked the multifocal but my eyes were VERY bad before LASIK and I think the cornea was too uneven or something to take to them well. The dr said the vision in that eye has degraded 20 fold since the day after surgery. I'm getting this out on Wed and going to monovision.
