Going to do another round after 7 years

    Hi Grammy!
Dont know if you remember me, but my daughter and I did a few rounds about 7 years ago. I was pretty active on the forum back then. My daughter and I each lost about 60 lbs. She has kept all hers off. I did up until a year ago when I slipped and hurt my back very badly (and they found a tumor/cyst in my tailbone area that I refused to have operated on!). Long story, but the fall caused the tumor/cyst to enlarge. I was literally unable to sit, walk, or lay flat for over 3 months! My doctor even ordered me a wheel chair and told me I might never walk again. Uh...no that was NOT happening! Anyway, with help from a variety of natural sources, I am 80 percent back to normal....and 25lbs overweight dang it!!

Sooo...I will be starting a round in about mid June. I read that you may be starting a round soon Grammy, and so just wanted to say hi...and Im sure I will "see" you around here. Im also in a masters program, so very busy, but need to get this weight back off and hopefully that will help me get closer to 100%.

Good to see you again, Caidan, but I'm so sorry about your situation. I've had some health issues too that caused me to gain-broke my ankle in two places last June and have been in a spiral with my adrenals and thyroid. Grr! But I'm about to start a new round next week I think. Or the week after. Soon anyway. LOL Good luck!

Hello ladies, I too had great success with hcg some years ago. However age and possibly thyroid medication not being strong enough has lead me to gain weight again. I've been trying Keto, (I always eat low carb, organic) but it's very tricky to get the carbs low enough (20 gr and under). I feel frustrated and am tempted to go back to what worked so well in the past. What do you think? Should I take the hcg plunge? PS: I'm sorry for both of your illnesses/sprains.

Well, we know it works and if other things havent worked, then jump on in!! I hesitated because my hair tends to thin a little and Im post menopause now. But my hair stylist commented on how thick my hair is and so I'm going ahead with the hCG. My hair has always grown back. It just goes into a rest cycle while I'm on the protocol.

I HAVE to lose this weight, its putting tremendous pressure on my hips and tailbone. So, come on! we got this!!!

Keto is murder on women's thyroid and adrenals. What happens is they get trashed on too few carbs and then you start gaining and can't stop because it sets up some reverse T3 problems.

I find it very challenging to stick to 20gr carb and under (Keto). I'm most comfortable doing low carb (+- 50gr carbs) which is NOT Keto. It keeps my weight stable and my palate satisfied. I do however need to lose this 35 pounds that crept onto my body and this won't happen with low carb.

Colleen, are you basically sugar, grain, legume free, and eat whole fat dairy, quality fats (nuts and seeds), grass fed meats and wild fish with lots of veggies? That is basically what I eat. Good for maintenance, but not for weight loss.

Yes, that's basically how I eat, Hallie. I find keeping carbs around 50 makes my adrenal/thyroid happiest.

Hi Everyone! I'm back, too, and will be starting another round soon. I'm so looking forward to feeling great again. Working at a desk non-stop 10-12 hours a day 7 days a week will pile on the pounds! Sorry to hear about injuries and illnesses. Prayers, hugs and very best of luck to all of us! Blessings ... Silverwind

p.s. A very BIG thank you to grammy1952 for continuing to have the protocol on her site ColleenCoble.com ... and if you have not read her work, you absolutely must! She is a fabulous author! Hugs Colleen ...

So, dear ladies. I am going to take the hcg plunge after a 5-or-so year hiatus. The day I've decided to start loading is June 14 as we're going to a friends' for a fabulous French brunch or "Frunch". I'm always full to the gills after a meal at her house. I'll start P2 on June 17th and will do a 40 day round.

What sayest ye lovely ladies? Join me?

    Hallie

I plan to start loading the 12th so I'll be close to your dates. Our daughter and her family are here until the 13th and I thought I'd load the last 2 days of her visit.
