Most of the time arthritis is based in a gluten intolerance. I'm guessing you will need to avoid gluten.

My daughter says most of my health problems will be alleviated by this diet and that's a good thing! She found Miracle Noodles online and those are gluten free/calorie free/sugar free/carb free... etc. THey aren't half bad and I think they will curb my cravings.

Yes I eat them all the time. I can't eat gluten either. There are GREAT subs out there now.

Thanks for your encouragement and help hon. Now I am going back to your website! I'm always looking for a good book and as my sister owns a used book store I'm gonna pass yours on to her after I'm through!

I respect Colleen's opinion because she's been around the block and has witnessed a lot of people both struggle and be successful. I will say, though, that my personal experience has been more like Sabina's: small overages, with types of foods that don't make me gain, don't affect my losses. I had 750 cals yesterday and was -1.4 lbs today. No, 800 cals should not make us gain fat. My guess is you're retaining water for some reason. Could be you're sensitive to one of the foods you ate. Could be the Whoosh Fairy is prepping to do her thang and flush a whole bunch of old fat cells out of your body, and you'll have a nice loss soon. Could be a whole host of other biochemical reactions in your body. You mentioned feeling sick and TOM...both those things will make most people retain water and thus gain.

Might I suggest you only weigh once a day, first thing in the morning after emptying your bladder? Why torment yourself with "high" and "low" weights for each day?

Under your avatar, it says you are on round 2. Yet you say you're afraid of gains in P3. Most everyone does go up and down a bit in P3 as the body adjusts and we learn what foods our bodies like and don't like. What was your R1P3 experience like?

If the clinic told you that you could take the weight off with HCG and go back to eating whatever you want without gaining they are full of umm can't think of a nice word to insert there LOL

No diet is permanent. If you eat too much or the wrong foods you will gain, just like if you took the weight off with WW or any other plan. Adopt a healthy lifestyle and learn your problem foods and you can maintain your weight for life and not have to repeat HCG or any other diet again. Whether a healthy lifestyle includes your favorite foods or not is up to your body to decide.

I never made it to P3 because I had some medical issues last round. I was only on VLCD for 11 days. I ran a half marathon 8 days in and it just wreaked havoc on my body. I ended up with abdominal pains that would indescribable and after trying to remain on P2 for a few days I just could not do it anymore. I stopped the drops and went right to eating starches because I needed things that were easy on my stomach and I was eating crackers, bananas, etc. So I won't really know how P3 is and what my sensitivities are until I actually get to P3. I am having a hard time this round losing in general. Last time, in 11 days, I was down 12 lbs from post load and 9 from preload. And I cheated twice during R1 too. Now, today, I am on VLCD 15, hcg day 17, and I'm only down 5.4 from preload weight (which was exactly the same weight I was going into R1 but I gained 7 lbs loading vs 2.6lbs in March). I take my morning weight but I am stupidly weighing at night, which I know I can't do. TOM is over, allergies still bugging me but the small loss is becoming very discouraging. Especially because even with the loss, my clothes do not fit any looser so I am not sure what I am losing. I know 5 lbs won't make that big of a difference so we'll see where I'm at by the end of this week. I have heard of some people having struggles in R2 but I really was not anticipating having to do another round to lose 15 lbs total!!

    HHCG with Dukan diet

As some know, I switched from VLCD 10 days ago to Dukan. Since then, I continue to lose weight. I feel terrific, and am also plugging away at exercise, though for now have been concentrating on the Walk off the Weight book on my treadmill with some occasional kettlebell thrown in.

Inches are melting away, people are noticing, and I am thrilled. I remain on HHCG, and though my 23rd day has come and gone, I have decided to continue the HHCG with Dukan until I hit day 40 and then will stay with Dukan alone.

The 500 calorie diet was just not for me and the reactions I had with constipation, sleeplessness, restless leg sensations night and day were totally gone within 2 days of me switching. I never had a big hunger issue, think that would have been a blessing compared to the others!

I know Grammy does not agree with what I have done, but it is working for me. Am happy with the results I am seeing and the way I am feeling physically and about myself.

I'm always thrilled when someone finds what works for them! It wouldn't work for me but I'm tickled you found what works.

So knowing that you don't have to follow protocol to lose on Hcg (hhcg), what do you think the hcg is helping you with?
