    Angry Struggling...down .5 stall for 4 days...repeat!

    Hello,
This is my second round of HCG. Lost 23lbs the first 45 round of injections I did last summer. I'm now on day 30 of round 2 and have lost 15.5lbs. Everything I've read says that the weight comes off slower when you get to your last 10-15lbs. I'm at 154.5 and I'd like to get down to 140 so I'm in that "slowdown" range. I'm extremely frustrated because I follow the plan to a T and never cheat. I've been eating chicken, cabbage, apple and melba toast every day. Sometimes I do celery instead of cabbage. Three different times I've lost .5 and I either stay that same weight for 4 days or I bounce back and forth with the .5 that I lost...gain it one day...lose it the next for four or five days. What gives?? Any ideas?

My injection dose...I've read that Your Hcg dose gets lower as you lose weight and don't have as much to lose, but you're supposed to gauge your dose by your hunger. If you're hungry in the afternoon you need a lower dose and if you're hungry at night you need a higher dose. So what I've read doesn't seem to apply to me because I seem to feel better on a dose of 200iu (20 units), but that seems high to me.

I have two weeks to go but finding it very difficult when I stay on plan and don't lose and sometimes gain. I dread the thought of doing an apple day, but if it will jolt my losses back into shape I'll do it.

I drink between 96 and 120oz of water a day! Sometimes more!!

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you!!

hi pridesinger, and thanks for the detailed description of your issue. All such information is important and can help us help you.

First, at day 30 and loss of 15.5 pounds, you are just a hair above average so far in your losses, so there isn't necessarily anything wrong.

Its normal to have stalls during a round, and normal even to have very long stalls of 10-14 days. So stalls are not a reason to try to change anything. In fact, from what we have observed, those that have a long stall in their round often stabilize better than those that don't. I think that has something to do with the body regulating water stores in P2 to catch up to weight loss. If that doesn't happen in P2, then it will happen in P3 and can make for a wild scale ride making it difficult to stabilize.

Have you been skipping a day each week? That is needed when doing a long round.

How do you know you feel better at 200iu? Did you start on a lower dose and then adjust up?

Are you having hunger issues at all? You mention hunger as a dose test, but not your personal experience.

Your menu is super limited. Sometimes changing up your food choices is enough to get weight loss going again. Are you getting close to 500 calories most days? 2 litres of water is enough per day. Anything beyond that is overkill and can actually cause problems with electrolyte balance. Weakness or fatigue are the most common symptoms of that. If you are not using mineral salt, it would be a good idea to switch to that now as a preventative.

As for apple days, they are hard. Did you know that you are not permitted any liquids during an apple day? And that apple day starts on one day and doesn't finish until after noon on the next day? Apple days put extra stress on your body that is already working hard. Even Dr. Simeons, who let patients use them, says that they are of psychological benefit only. My thought is why make P2 harder for no good reason? Its already hard.

As for slower losses as you near goal, I have not found that to be true to a large extent. I lost about the same amount each round, and in my last round had a better loss rate than some of my earlier rounds. The problem with the last 15 and HCG is that you sometimes have to do that last round over again a couple of times until you get maintenance figured out. But the HCG still does it's thing each time.

Congrats on staying right on protocol. Its the best way to insure success, and you are giving yourself that best chance.

I've never been told to skip a day each week even when I did my first round under the guidance of a physician. So I should skip an injection, but still do the VLCD that day? Should it be the same day each week? Assume this is to keep the body from building up an immunity to HCG??

Dose...I started with a dose of 150iu (15 units). Had extreme hunger in the evening. Increased to 175iu (17.5 units) and still had hunger in the evening. Increased to 200iu (20 units) and feel my hunger is a bay for the day. At one point I thought maybe it was too high so I adjusted my dose down to 150iu again and the huger came back.

I feel like when I change things up with my food choices I don't have loses. LOL...guess I don't have anything to lose at them moment...do I?? To me it's easier to just eat what I like over and over! I eat 2.8oz of cooked chicken (that's what my 3oz of raw chicken weighed after I cooked it), 1 cup of steamed cabbage or 1 cup raw celery, 1 apple and 1 melba toast for lunch and dinner. I use salt, pepper, garlic powder most of the time. I also use the Simple Girl BBQ and Hot Sauce. I was using Liquid Aminos, but thought it was the culprit of my first stall so I stopped using it.

I've never had any problems with weakness or fatigue during either round. On my first round I also did B12/lipid injections which were supposed to help with hunger and energy. Honestly I don't see any difference in the way I feel now without the B12/lipid. But if you're telling me I don't need to drink any more than 2 liters of water I have no problem not drinking more. LOL! Normally I'm a terrible water drinker!

If you're telling me an apple day is not necessary...that's the best news I've heard all day. Yes, I know the process of an apple day. I actually did one on my first round because I had an intentional cheat day over the 4th weekend and the Dr. had me do an apple day to help get back on track.

I have wondered if I need to increase my protein at all...

If your round is more than 30 days, you do need to skip a day each week. The purpose is to avoid the onset of immunity and also serves to extend your round a bit. You still continue to lose during the skip days. It should be the same day each week. You can start anytime and use the first one to check your dose. See if there is any hunger change after 4pm of the skip day. If your dose is right on, you may get a tiny bit of hunger in the evening.

It sounds like you have found the right dose.

Exactly. Give it a try. At least switch out your fruit and veggie if there are no other proteins you like.

Agree with you on the Lipo. Its not necessary to success, and I also discerned no other benefits when I tried it. And yes, I'm saying the apple day is not necessary.

I have wondered if I need to increase my protein at all...
If you have enough energy to continue whatever activities you are used to doing you don't need more protein. If you want to add a bit extra (like with a cup of bone broth for instance), you would still make that part of your 500 calories. I used chicken bone broth in my last round as a hot drink before bed, and I think it helped with sleep. It did not impede my losses or seem to affect my stabilization.

If the round is less than 30 I need to skip a day, but more than 30 I don't?

So here's another question that occurred to me today...could my stalls and hunger be due to my HCG be losing it's potency? It was mixed on 2/6/18...5 weeks ago!

I'm sure she meant if your round is MORE than 30 days, skip one day each week. And yes, Your Hcg could be losing potency after this long.
