Taking HCG with a paleo diet, as directed by my hormone doctor

    Hi There..

A little background.. I've done around 6-7 rounds in the last 5 years.. I have hormone issues in the way I haven't had a period in nearly 19 years.. I'm in the middle of a round now (day 20) and have just seen my hormone doctor.. Because I have ZERO lutenising hormone.. (HCG) he wants me to inject 100u daily for the next 6 months.. I normally eat a strict paleo diet.. Can anyone advise what might happen if I eat high fat whilst having hcg onboard.. Of course weight loss is a bonus or lowered appetite as I have just finished 4 months of HRT and gained 4 kg..

Look forward to herein anyones thoughts xx

You won't lose weight very well. I did a trial of adding fat to an hcg diet and lost very little then quickly regained what I lost when I stopped. A few have tried hcg 2.0 which is mostly protein but from watching the thread, most have eventually abandoned it as not working as well as the original protocol. Sorry!

I've used it in past rounds with adding mayo, cheese and small amounts of fat like that. Not high fat because I can't do high fat and I've lost well and kept it off. No idea how it would do with high fat though. Guess it depends on how you lose without hcg. If you can lose without it, you will probably do fine with it. I can lose with or without hcg so it works for me. It doesn't work for everyone.

I am getting ready to try it with JUDDD for appetite control on my down days. Planned on a mostly protocol round (with my little fat adds) but after 2 days realized I wasn't able to eat tenderized steak due to a intestinal stricture have, it caused a painful partial blockage and since the only other protein I like on plan that I lose well on is chicken. I'm not about to do a month of chicken twice a day. I'll just do something else. Figure all you can do is try it and see what happens. Might work, might not but what have you got to lose?

Thanks Grammy.. you always take the time to answer. the issue is.. yes I am doing a round now for the loss.. but now have to actually take pregnyl for medical reasons.. will this ruin my metabolism and make me then store fat in the wrong place or will I just naturally eat less (from lower appeteite) and stay neutral.... appreciate your thoughts x

You're saying you're taking hcg for a medical reason? Hcg is not an appetite suppressant really. I know some people tout it as that but it isn't. It just releases fat when you're taking the proper dose and then you don't feel hunger because your body is being fed. I don't think you can count on it to lose weight if you're not following the diet. You might feel better from whatever reason the doctor has you on it, but it's not going to affect your weight much from my experience on the forum. Whether it will ruin your metabolism, I really don't know. I've never heard of this being done other than for fertility and then it's just one shot. Taking it every day for something else will have another effect for you down the road though--immunity. It may make it impossible for you to use hcg as a weight loss tool without a very long wait period.
