Trying to get my dosing right!

    Hi Grammy and Everyone!

Hope y'all are having great rounds with tons of losses! Well I'm on VLCD Day 6 and trying to get this whole dosing this down. I'm really giving my all with the diet, but concerned about my bouts of hunger. I take subq and started with 150. I thought the hunger was par for the course the first days of the diet, but then I knew something was off bc I had that "chew your arm off hunger" and couldn't stop overeating veggies, then would get upset with myself. I was stalled for a few days on the dose too. So on VLCD day 4 I did a skip and felt much better so the next day (yesterday) I lowered to 125 and it was like night and day! Woke up today and was down 2.4 pounds! So I did another 125 this morning, but the hunger started a bit today. I had my morning coffee and that seemed to curb it a bit, but I'm back to passing every yummy restaurant/fast food place on my drive to work and thinking, "Mmm, I would totally love some _____ (insert delicious food) right now!" Lol. I'm trying to break the hunger/bad food association on this diet as well. I was so happy yesterday, but feeling down today.

Does the new, lower dose take a few days to kick in and lower the hunger? I'm 5'7 and my pre-load weight was 160. I went up to 164 after loading and lost 4 pounds after VLCD day 1. Then stalled for days until I lowered the dose I'm now down 2.4 pounds. So total loss of 6.4 pounds. I just want to make sure the fat is being released and it's not water. Of course, in typical male fashion, my boyfriend can have cheats and has lost 14 pounds in 8 days! Thanks!!

It sounds like your dose is still a little high, honey. Try lowering it just a bit to maybe 115.

Thank you, Grammy. I was down another 2 pounds today, but hunger was pretty high yesterday and all night. I took 125 this morning since I had not seen this yet and again the hunger is starting up. So I will definitely drop down as you suggested. Am I ok to just lower it tomorrow without skipping a day? Also, I should mention because I just checked and my TOM is about 6 days away as well.
Thank you again for your help!

It takes several days for the blood levels to fall when you adjust without skipping a shot. Since you dosed at 125 today you can go ahead and do 125 tomorrow and you may be better by Tuesday.

    Grammy,
Well I misread your dose advise to stay at 125 today and lowered to the 115 and I am so extremely hungry that I've already eaten my apple and my lunch, despite my large black coffee for breakfast at 9am. I can usually hold out for lunch until 2:00pm. I never eat melba, except for yesterday because of the hunger. I also GAINED .5 pounds this morning! I did overeat my veggies yesterday and without thinking I cooked my dinner with a little prepackaged minced garlic....that was in oil. Omg, what a mental lapse! I really felt great last week on my skip day and then on the first day at the lowered dose at 125 I actually felt like this diet was going to work. Then it was downhill again the very following day. Would you suggest I just push through today at the 115 and see how tomorrow goes? I will be home around 4 and could inject another 10 to bring me back up to 125, but I don't know if that's smart or not. I really hope I find my sweet spot in the next few days! I'm getting so depressed!

Thank you as always, Grammy! My boyfriend jokes with me because I have my saying when it comes to ANYTHING diet related..."WWGD?" (What would Grammy do?!) You are the HCG Celebrity/Messiah in my household!

Honey, this seems to indicate even 115 might be too high. Usually you're super hungry in the morning after your shot if the dose is too high. How long has it been since you skipped now?

I skipped on Thursday and dropped my 150 to 125 on friday. Was ok friday, but Saturday and Sunday got progressively worse with hunger. Took 115 today and was hungry again within hours of taking shot. So I think I'm still too high? Seems to be a little better as this evening goes on.

Yes it does seem to be too high. I'd skip tomorrow since you've had 4 shots and see how you feel. If better, drop to 100.

So here's my update so far... I skipped today to see if the 125 and then 115 was still too high of a dose. At first I did have more than usual hunger this morning, but after drinking my coffee it seems to have completely subsided and I'm not thinking about food or eating my fruit as soon as I get to work. I was nervous that dropping to 100 may be too low since everything I've read about sq injections seems to point to a 125-150 range dose, but I guess my body is different. I think I am one of those people that need a low, low dose to work. I woke up down .6 pounds today (after a .5 gain!) so I am back to Sundays weight. I know it's like I lost a few days trying to figure this out, but worth it in the long run!
Thank you, Grammy for your advice. Sadly, I'm sure I'll be annoying you as soon as I feel a change in hunger! But fingers crossed this is it!

It's really pretty common to need only 100 iu so don't think it doesn't happen every day here on the forum. Let's see how you do the rest of the day though first. It's still early!
