Thread: Ultra Low Carb Dieting Dangers

    I need some direction please!!
    I really appreciated your post on the dangers of ultra low carb. I realize that it fits me to a "T". Now I am trying to figure how to "fix it". First problem is I am up 10 pounds and they are killing me. I am a very small frame person and 10 pounds means that my clothes do not fit, so I am not comfortable staying at this weight.
    I thought I would try The Plan and see if I could find my sensitive foods. Well the problem is that I can't get past the first few days and I am gaining weight not loosing. I wonder if it just too many carbs and the flax seeds?
    I am beginning to panic! I am about ready to go back and do another 21 days on HCG get the weight off. But I know that I need to "do something". I have read above about the 28 Day program and thought that may be a good place to try. But I just have to get this extra weight off!!! I really thought that The Plan was going to get the weight loss started - but it just doesn't seem to be working?
    Any ideas??

    You're following The Plan exactly and are gaining? I've never seen that before. Make sure you don't add the nuts or anything to the flax the first few days. You could try the 28 Day Fast Metabolism Diet by Pomroy.

    Well, the 10 pounds were not from The Plan! But I am not loosing anything, I am really struggling. I have followed exactly, not adding anything not on the list. I do think the the flax and so much broccoli may be part of the problem, or that it is a higher carb diet than I am used to. Yes they are good carbs, but more carbs than I had been getting. I am just not sure what to do. I want the weight off really bad! And my go to has been always been HCG. The weight always come off with HCG, but lately it seems to come back, sooner and sooner. Would I be making a huge mistake by going HCG again???

    You followed the first 3 day cleanse exactly? You can't just jump to the recipes later in the book. Just checking. HCG is never a mistake. It works when nothing else does.

    I swear, I followed to the letter, I spent two weeks reading the book and preparing. I didn't add or subtract anything!
    I am going to do a round of HCG, because I know it works and then order the 28 Day book and see what info I can find there.

    I am concerned that the Ultra Low Carb living that I have done for years now has done some damage. I am just not sure what to do about it

    Usually you just have to take the gain from carbs that come when you first start eating them. It will all level out. Make sure you keep your fruit in P2 when you start hcg.

    That's a good point. In the past I dropped a fruit and added a veggie, because I lost better that way. But good idea to keep both fruits.

    I've been drinking mct coffee (now decaf) since p3 and now into p4. I've been pretty stable in my weight with only 1 steak day. Are you saying that the mct oil caused your weight to creep up? What phase did you start using it in and how long before you noticed the weight gains? Should I just get off of it? I will be starting another round July 6th.

    I'm saying taking MCT oil during a round was a disaster. LOL It's fine any other time.

    LOL I love MCT oil in my coffee when I'm not taking hcg. for a while I thought it was causing my hypoglycemia but I found out it was stevia of all things.

    I'm am really enjoying the mct coffee too and it's fun to make! I feel like a barista lol
