    VLCD7 and Hunger

    Hi Grammy,
I'm on VLCD 7 and have lost about 8 pounds this week (hooray!). This is my second round and I struggled to find the right dose last time so no surprise that I'm having those issues again. Just for history, I was started on 200iu last round and felt terrible. With your guidance (thank you!), I finally found my 'feel good' dose around 110-115. This round, I figured I would start at 120 and see how I felt. Unfortunately, I haven't found my 'feel good' dose yet, even though I've tinkered with it slightly over the last 3 days. I went down to 100 yesterday/today so I guess the jury is still out on if a lower dose helps, but it's 11am on day 2 of 100iu and I'm very uncomfortable. I feel very hungry in the morning, even after eating lunch, and generally feel a little better toward the end of the day, although still have nagging hunger at night. I have good willpower so can power through for now, but this isn't sustainable for the next 5 weeks!

If I'm still feeling bad today, I will skip tomorrow and assess. If I'm hungry all day without the shot tomorrow, can you advise on what the next step is? Is it really uncommon to go below 100iu? I'm not menopausal (43) so wondering if that may be the wrong direction.

    Thanks SO much!

I tend not to like to see someone go much below 100. It's a little puzzling that you feel hunger in the morning and the evening both though. I think I would test your hcg and make sure it's good before you did much else because that's not the norm. It's usually morning or evening not both.

Okay, so just buy a pregnancy test and add the HCG to that? If it's positive then it's potent? If it is, should I skip tomorrow and see how I feel?

Yes that's right. Yes and when you skip pay attention to how you feel after 4 and into the evening.

    Hi Grammy,
My HCG yielded a positive pregnancy test so I'm good there. Did a skip day today (after injecting 100iu on Saturday and Sunday) and felt better all day long. Hungry for lunch but ate and then felt fine, same at dinner. No increase in hunger after 4pm and it's 9:30pm and I'm still feeling good. I know you said that you don't like to see people dose below 100iu, but seems like my skip day indicates it is too high. I'm thinking of reducing to 95iu tomorrow and then lowering by 5iu if that doesn't seem to address the hunger over the next couple of days. Is this too gradual a change? What would you recommend?

    Thanks again for your help!

You could try 90 iu today. I wouldn't go lower than that though. I'd just stop if 90 doesn't work and take a longer break.
