    Cycling Group

Anyone want to be part of a cycling group? Or if there already is an active group can you direct me to it?

Afm- I've had two full rounds of hcg and they went well. I decided to start cycling to lose the rest of the weight. I'm planning on using this vial for about two weeks, then doing the 72 hrs without hcg, doing some time in p3 and then back to p2.

I am cycling as well! I had a successful 60 day round back in 2011. During that round my life turned into a rollercoaster and HCG became too stressful for me to complete any subsequent rounds and over two years I gained back the 40 pounds I lost.

I'm following a 21 day P2 and 14 day P3 cycle and plan to continue until I reach my goal of 100 pounds lost (putting me at about 125 pounds, I'm 5'1"). I just started my second P2 cycle yesterday so I will be on here (mostly) every day for support and to keep me focused!

I'd love to have some more cyclers join our group, it would be nice to have a place where we're all around a little more long term than in the groups for a specific month.

Are you following strict protocol? I was pretty strict my first round on HCG and made a few modifications that work for me. I do not have off protocol foods every day, and I've checked out the rogue thread but it's way too rogue for me lol. I guess I'm only a tiny bit rogue.

I've set a goal for myself of 10 pounds lost for each 35 day cycle. I know this is a fairly low estimate with 21 days on p2, but since I will be doing this for a long time I want to make sure my loss is sustainable and not too stressful on my body.

Hi Quinne I relate to so much of your post! I too gained back the weight I lost from my first round. It really sucks. I've been reading about emotional eating and working on eating for hunger and not other reasons- that's my big problem. I've been workingon it.

I'm somewhat strict on protocol. I don't eat melba toast and only have one fruit a day (most days). I tried eggs last night because I needed something quick and I had a good loss today so I'm hoping to be able to have them occasionally. I'm going to have to check out the rogue thread. How are you rogue if you don't mind me asking.

Are you planning on loading to begin each cycle?

I too hope more people join. It would be great to have an active thread for cyclers. It's hard joining a monthly thread and having everyone leave once you get to know them.

Haha, I also do NOT eat the melba and typically only have one fruit a day, occasionally I will have tomatoes as my second fruit. I've had eggs a couple times as well.

I'm rogue in that I will occasionally experiment with different thing, but mostly stick to the original protocol. I also listen to my body and will "cheat" if my body needs more. There was a day last round where I could tell my body needed more than I was giving it, so I had a small greek salad with minimal dressing (off protocol: mixed veggies - romaine, red onion, grape tomatos, kalamata olives, feta cheese) and an extra chicken tender for a total of 3, which I coated with shake and bake. Losses held up after this and I didn't beat myself up about the cheat or have massive cravings or continue cheating. Part of the reason I set my goals low at 10 pounds a 35 day cycle is that while I mostly follow the protocol very strictly, I need to have some wiggle room in case I am on the brink of going mentally insane. My first round was 60 days and with the exception of adding broccoli and turkey, and one small cheat (1/2 a chicken breast panini and 2 bites of pasta salad) the day I found out we were losing our house, I stuck to the protocol 100%. I did it, but it almost killed me mentally and I felt so deprived that I didn't make good choices through all the stress I was dealing with which is why I gained it all back. This time I am not beating myself up if I feel like I need to have a bite of something off protocol in order to stay sane. All my friends are eating pulled pork and I can't stop obsessing over it? I can have ONE bite. I only had a couple bites of off protocol items this cycle and my losses seemed fine. I know I may lose slower doing this, but I'm ok with that. I'm not planning on cheating or having these bites either - most days follow the protocol foods perfectly. But just looking at the protocol with a slightly different mentality, knowing that I have the ability to have a bite of something if I really and truly need it, and ONLY a bite, has actually given me strength and the tools I need to sustain my weight loss for life.

Other rogue things include occasionally subbing FF greek yogurt for my milk. I almost never have milk. Also I am experimenting with intermittent fasting while on HCG. While on the drops I am only eating at dinner time. On my first round I was always hungrier at night and never felt satisfied. During the day I wasn't hungry and felt nauseated when I did eat. So I'm skipping food in the day and eating one meal at night. Seems to work great for me.

Also I will occasionally have things like sugar free fat free pudding or jello. Not on protocol at all, but I keep it to small amounts and had it probably 2-3 times last cycle. Helped curb the cravings for cake and ice cream!

So yeah, I'm about 95% on protocol and refuse to beat myself up about any of the rogue stuff. I certainly feel healthier overall and the HCG is still working for me so I'll take it!

I do plan to load, but only for one day each cycle.

Down 1.8 pounds today, so I am now 1 pound under LDW for last cycle! Woohoo!

Day 3 and doing well so far. No massive cravings or headaches. Day 1 was rough but I ate carbs/wheat during my loading day and realized I have a pretty major sensitivity to either gluten or wheat, so the first day and part of the second I was dealing with my body trying to digest that. I think it's all out of my system now, I feel pretty awesome. The first day I had grilled chicken breast with sauteed spinach and grape tomatoes. Yesterday I had the same thing, except with strawberries instead of tomatoes. Today I'm planning on mahi mahi and either spinach or a lettuce salad. P2 food may be boring but hey, it's easy! I kinda like not having to think too much about food.

I so hear you on feeling deprived. My most recent round I did a 43 day round and stayed on protocol the entire time. By the time I got to p3 I went crazy, eating so much and all these combinations of p3 foods that I didn't stabilize well. Looking back, I think it may have been the olives I ate, but who knows. That's the only thing different that I ate in that p3 than in the previous p3 where I stabilized fine. I realized that long rounds don't really work for me mentally. I really like what you wrote about listening to your body, I will be doing that this time! Also, the one bite thing is great. I have found myself staying away from social activities with friends because of the food. Either I was afraid I'd cheat or that they'd think it was weird that I wasn't eating. It made me feel depressed, sort of isolating myself. I stayed away from my friend's daughter's birthday party because I was afraid of cake I think eating one or two bites would have been much healthier for me because mentally it sucks to feel isolated. Thanks for the one bite idea.

I used to do intermittent fasting before hcg. I guess I do it now too because I only have lunch and dinner- I don't spread my food out. I eat dinner about 6 and lunch about 12 so that's about 18 hours without food. What does your fasting look like?

I only lost .4 today. I don't know if that's because I did 30 min on the eliptical yesterday and I haven't in awhile. I'm a little sore so I could be retaining water. Or if my losses are slowing down, today is day 6. I'm hoping it's from the exercise

Yay for being under LDW! That's a great feeling. I'm 4 pounds away from LIW, but I did go on a 10 day cruise and load for 2 days so I had a lot to lose, lol.

I do like the simplicity of p2 foods. With the limited choices it makes it easier.

Day 1 and 2 are rough for me usually. I tend to get headaches I'm possibly gluten sensitive too.

I hope it's from the exercise too and you get a nice whoosh tomorrow! I don't exercise much on HCG because I don't exercise much outside of HCG. My long term goals are - lose 100 pounds, quit smoking, start exercising more. I did recently get a fitbit and that is helping me to make some lifestyle changes regarding how active I am. Not exercise, but just things like walking more, parking far away in a lot instead of the closest spot I can find, etc.

I eat dinner sometime around 6:00 or 7:00, and have my fruit either with dinner in the form of tomatoes, or within an hour or two at the most after dinner. So that's about 21 hours a day minimum I guess. No idea if that is "good" or "bad" but it's working for me, lol! I also try to avoid social situations while on HCG but I can't stop my life so I just make the best out of it, and be good if I can stand it (usually I can, but those times I can't it's all my brain will focus on, very destructive).

How's it going Qwinne? Did you wake up to a good loss today?

I really want a fitbit. Did you get the one that attaches to your bra or the watch one? They seem really cool!

So do you eat all your food for the day at dinnertime, like lunch and dinner at dinner? Do you find that helps your losses?

I think cycling will help somewhat with the social situations because I can plan my schedule a little bit around them. My friends keep asking me to go to our favorite restaurant and I'm going to make plans to go next friday because I'll be in p3 then.

I've been trying to exercise a little everyday this round. It's tough though because if it is too much it will make me retain water and show a gain on the scale. I know it's not a real gain, but I want to see a loss, lol. I'm going to do more walking instead of the elliptical. Light exercise tends to help me.

A couple of things that I'm trying out- I froze my shots yesterday. I read that some people are doing that because they believe it keeps the hcg as potent as the day you froze it. I just did it yesterday and today's my skip day so I can't say I notice any difference yet. I do know that last round I lost 12lbs in the first week, 3lbs in the second week and 5lbs in the third week. It could be that my body was just getting caught up or it could be that since my vial lasts about two weeks that the hcg was less effective during that second week and I started a new vial during week three. It should be interesting to see if freezing shots makes a difference. My next cycle I'll freeze them on the day I mixed them. One thing I like about it also is that it lets me know how many p2 days I have because after the vial is gone I move on to p3.

I make carmelized onions a lot in p2. They are super tasty. Normally I just use water but yesterday I added a small amount of coconut oil. I lost 1.0 today so it looks like it didn't affect my losses. I heard it takes two days to know if you are affected by something. I had eggs on monday and my losses were 1.8 and .4 the next two days, but the 1.8 day is when I had the elliptical workout. So was the .4 from the eggs or elliptical? I'll have to try it again and find out.

Could be from either, or it could be nothing! Even gals who stick 100% on protocol have days with small losses, long stalls, etc.

I also love caramelized onions in P2! I mostly use water and a few drops of vinegar to make mine, I like a stronger taste though.

Experiemented on P2D3 with half a cup of cooked angel hair pasta to see if I am really gluten intolerant, and it turns out I am. Dumb I know but I had to do it. Struggling with massive cravings and feeling sick, bloated and exhausted ever since, plus I gained .8. I can't believe I used to live like this every day. Yesterday I was back on the wagon and did not gain today but did not lose either. So 5 days VLCD down and I'm down .2 overall from my LDW, lol. Kicking myself a bit but at least now I know!

Hey there! Met Qwinne through a monthly loading group and she directed me over here. Nice to be part of a cycling group!

I've completely completed one round of HCG - with P2/P3/P4 - and then another round with P2/P3 before I decided that I needed to cycle. I did very well with my first round and stabilized about 3 pounds above LDW, which was fine with me. I did one steak day and swore I'd never do another one again. I felt HORRIBLE the day I did it and the next day. Not worth it to lose a little water weight! I want this "diet" to be sustainable for me and I just can't live that way. I've found that careful P3 high protein/high fat eating will shed the water weight as well.

This last go around, I was toying with the idea of cycling because I didn't want to have to wait so long to start another round. This past round I only shed 12 pounds, which just isn't enough with that type of struggle (imo). I still have a good 20-30 pound to lose and I don't want to have to wait months to be able to start again, you know? I had decided to just suck it up and deal with it but then I hit a spiral. This sounds so stupid now, but it all started with a salted caramel cupcake and here I am. I'm sitting about 6 pounds up from my LDW, which wouldn't be as bad if I hadn't only lost 12 pounds! LOL

So cycling it is. I'm probably going to be doing a 2 week P2 with a 1-2 week P3. I have a camping trip coming up in a couple weeks and I need to be on P3 for that. I also have a birthday at the end of August and need to cycle back to a P3 for that as well. With any luck, I'll be doing my final round after Labor Day and stabilizing from there.

So glad to have a place to bounce ideas, get support, and encourage other people!!

    Round 1, hhcg, went from 193.8 to 171.8 = 22 lbs lost!

Starting Round 3 with a whole lot more to lose...

    Stay tuned for 9/15 losses!
