Loving this thread and as I contemplate continued future rounds, I'm thinking I may go to the 2 week P2 / 1 week P3 method of cycling.

Any experience, J Beanie, with noticing how much people tend to lose on this type of cycling per each 2 weeks of being in P2? Maybe 6-8 lbs net loss perhaps? I haven't noticed many people doing this way of cycling so I don't have anything to go by but want to have realistic expectations. Thanks!

It varies with each person. You should expect to lose the same amount during the first two weeks in your previous round(s), all things being equal, of course.

How's that for a muddied answer? ha ha Seriously tho, cycling is not a way to lose more weight in a shorter period of time. It is simply a shorter round in which you should follow Dr. S's protocol.
Think thin thoughts and it will become your experience.

Yep no I hear you...definitely not using it to be quicker...just using it to stay more on track and motivated. Just trying to align my expectations to have smaller bits of losses but wondering what's reasonable. Yes I will go by past rounds and see. My prob is I keep deviating that I never have consistent results. I just need to stick to things consistently. Eek!

Well, I have read many people report they have better losses in the first two weeks of their round. Sooooooo... I think if you follow protocol, you could easily expect to lose ten pounds at a minimum in a two-week P2. YMMV, of course.

Thanks J Beanie...I think since I'm not most people, then, I'll guesstimate an 8 lb loss, lol

Just posted on another related thread too...created a new spreadsheet for this because I'm such a keener, lol.

Hey, estimate 8 then lose 10 or 12... no disappointment, only happiness! LOL

I have a spreadsheet, too. Will be awfully glad when I get to goal and won't need it anymore. Then it will be just me and my trusty scale.

I need to lose 80 overall, 70 now, and cycling seems like it would be easier than doing multiple 40 day rounds; but will I get the results in a similar amount of time?
The main thing is if cycling is an option. Have you done a full round yet? How was p3? . . . these are important questions because with cycling you really need to be confident about p3 and know what works and be able to stabilize for the time you are there.

I get what J Beanie is saying about the skin issue and in this instance I still am of the mindset that losing 10 pounds or so is easier than 25+ and if you are in fact concerned about skin tightening and such but still want to cycle, you could certainly make the adjustment and maybe stay in p3 a little longer. . .

Thanks for taking time to respond, guys.
I'm 24, so I'm not too concerned with the skin, but I am hypothyroid and losing a little at a time then stabilizing just makes sense to me.

    Another Cycling Question

Hi All! I am so happy that I found this thread. What great posts!

Today I finished week 2 of phase 3 round 1. I have been very stable, with the exception of a steak day that I am fairly certain was my TOM interfering.

In my phase 2, I had great losses the first 2 weeks. ( 15 lbs.) Then I stalled for 10 days (gulp!) again this was thanks to my TOM. All in all I lost 22 lbs- but it took me 38 days on vlcd with hhcg.
As you can see, my losses were MUCH slower after first 2 weeks.

BTW, I did not have a tremendous amount of weight to lose but I had tried EVERY diet under the sun with no success- until now! GO HCG! Wooohoooo!
I would like to lose an additional 10 to 15 lbs. I am currently at 144. I am 5"6.
My normal weight was 115-125 until about 8 years ago (I am now 42).Before then (8 yrs ago),I had to watch myself, but diets always helped me get right back to my weight. Anyway, if I do lose another 15 pounds, I will be just above that so I believe it to be a reasonable goal. However, if I see that I can't go further, and that the hcg has no more effect, I will stop. My goal is not written in stone.

    Here are my questions:

Has anyone done cycling after only going thru phases 1,2 and 2 weeks of 3 and what has it been like? (shld I finish phase 3?)

Will cycling mess w the hypothalamus' ability to reset the weight?

Can I go back to VLCD for just say 10 days, or what is the shortest amount of time?

Any thoughts and answers are much aprecciated!

    Happy St. Paddy's Day!

    Florida,

You need to do a completely full round first. You need to make sure how your body responds to the entire protocol before attempting to tweak the diet.

Why is that? And what type of body responses would be red flags etc?
