First round cycling - Need answers and advice please!

So I am finishing up my r1p2 42 days VLCD, will spend 3 days on VLCD then three additional weeks in the p3 phase, then I plan to do a 23 day r2p2 round and finish up with a full r2p3 and r2p4. Has anyone done anything like this? Any recommendations/advice? Also, would I load before my r2p2 after 3 weeks of r1p3? Thanks!

Three weeks of P3, then jumping back into another round is not long enough for your hypothalamus to reset. I understand very well why you want to do this; you are anxious to get the weight off in a hurry. But, this isn't a good
idea, long term. In addition to the likelihood that you'll regain your weight, it is hard on your liver & doesn't give your skin enough time to tighten up & recover.

What you are describing is not "cycling". You will get a wide variety of opinions on this, but I always look at the opinions of people who have lost weight over several rounds, and have KEPT IT OFF with no problems. None of them have cut corners.

    Congratulations on your success!

    Dear TXSweetcorn,

Thanks for your reply. I'm definitely still considering my options, so I very much appreciate your input. One thing I'm curious about, though... I've read on the forums that the hypothalamus does reset within the 3 weeks of p3. You do not believe this is correct?

This was my exact plan, I wish there were more replies.

    R1P2VCLD began 2/7/11 -25lbs
    R2p2VCLD began 1/3/13 -
    R1-2013-LDW 200
    Week 1 losses 1/10/13-191.6=8.4
    Week 2 losses 1/17/13-187.6=4

We need some feedback on this, as I was recommending cycling to a good friend who has a substantial amount to lose. I have read all the sticky notes, and completely agree. It's not aout trying to cut corners, it just does't make sense to add wheat, or sgar into her diet, when she has had previous issues, and has another 80 lbs to lose. any thoughts on a 42 day P2. then 3 - 4 weeks of P3, then beginning another round.?

    Dear rachel4Change,

Aside from the resetting of the hypothalamus issue, you should wait at least 6 weeks after your R1P2 to allow your body to rest from the hormone and prevent it from building resistance to it. If you you start it sooner you may not see the same results because the body starts getting used to the hormone.

    Good luck!!
    Ana
