    Thanksgiving Cheat... Middle of the road Load days?

    Hi all! Love reading through these forums...

    I just started my VLCD yesterday, I have already dropped 3.2 pounds so I am very encouraged!! I planned on doing the 23 days, and ending 3 days after my last shot on Nov 23, a mere 2 days before Thanksgiving!!!

    However, I have enough hcg to easily do another round of 23 days...

    Here's what I was thinking, I am not going to stay carb free on Thanksgiving, or fat free for that matter, I only have so much self control and I am POSITIVE that it will be all used up by then. SO, after such a short break, could I start taking shots again on Thanksgiving (after 5 total days with no shots) and use turkey day and black friday as load days and then just go right back into VLCD until right before Christmas (another 23 shots)?

    Or should I just wait until after Christmas to continue with the shots?

    Or should I just keep right on taking the shots and cheat on Thanksgiving??

    Opinions and advice are greatly appreciated!!!

    This question is popping up all over! : ) There are a lot of varied opinions on this subject, and I am sure you will hear them all! Here's my plan, I am either going to stop my current round of P2 on November 8th or 15th, take a "planned interruption" eating only P3 foods, load on Thanksgiving, and go back into another full round of P2 that will end right before Christmas. The only problem is that this will put me past the 40 day mark that Dr. Simeon recommended and many still stand by. However, I also see many posting that they have been very successful in going longer than 40 days. I think I am just going to listen to my body and see what feels the most appropriate for me. I am historically a slow loser and have lost slower than many others thus far so I really want to get as much time as possible on P2 in so I can lose a decent amount this year! Don't know if that helps, but hopefully it will!!!! : )
    Starting Weight 203 - Lost 17 on my own
    HCG Starting Weight = 186, R1 LDW = 171.4 -(14.6)

    R2/P2 (Started 4/13/11) - Starting weight = 177.7
    VLCD1-7 = - 7.1 lbs
    VLCD8-14 = -3.0
    VLCD15 = 167.6 (0.0 lbs)
    VLCD16 = 168.4 (+0.8 lbs)
    VLCD17 = 169.2 (+0.8 lbs)
    VLCD18 = 167.0 (-2.2 lbs)
    VLCD19 = 165 (-2.0 lbs)
    VLCD20 = 167.2 (+2.2 lbs)
    VLCD21 = 168.2 (+1.0 lb)
    Goal Weight = 135!!!!

    Kmoon, we are about at the same place. A short round (3 weeks) would have me off the drops and on day one of p3 the day before Thanksgiving. I think I just plan on having a cheat day for Thanksgiving. Either way will be cheating (on p2 or p3) because I plan on sampling everything. I have had cheat days before and I usually gain about 1-2lbs and I will probably just plan on stabilizing a little higher for p3. I'll then be doing about 4.5 weeks of p3 so that I can load on Christmas Eve and Christmas day. I typically cycle 3 weeks of p2 and 3 weeks of p3 back to p2, so I'm just stretching it out a tad.

    I'm not quite sure I'm reading you correctly, so forgive me if I am not understanding you.

    If you are looking to cycle, you do NOT at any time eAt any sugars or carbs. You go from phase2 to phase 3 then right back to phase 2.

    If you plan on eating carbs after 23 days of doing the diet, not only will you undo what you've done, but you will not be resetting your body which is the main part of the protocol.

    You would be better off waiting until Thanksgiving or even better Christmas to load and start the diet.

    I have read on here where some actually do a middle of the road load days again to try and kick start their weight loss...not sure how well it worked I just saw them discussing it, but if it was me and I knew I would have to be bad, I would continue doing the shots for a 40 day round and just cheat, only on Thanksgiving day, and realize the consequences that I will lose 3 to 4 or more days with gains and stalls but then as long as I got right back to it the next day all would not be lost as I still have the rest of the round to straighten it all out... I think you might be surprised about your willpower on Thanksgiving though, especially when you are so use to eating so little and with continuing the shots, it will just help to curb your appetite and cheating too!

    I've noticed a lot of people talking about a 'planned interruption' for Thanksgiving and it seems people are thinking that an interruption means they shouldn't eat fairly cleanly. I'd be fearful that once I went back I'd have screwed up all the work I'd already dont and possible throw a monkey wrench in the rest of that round.

    I am right there with you Beth. I've fallen at times and it is really hard to get back on track again. It is why I started cycling, that and I just desperately needed some good fats in my body.

    I do plan to have a slice of turkey (which I know from experience for me) tons of cucumber salad and a bowl of fruit salad made with sour cream and Splenda.

    I'm on P2 for Thanksgiving. I'm planning on having chicken and celery soup with lots of Tday seasonings in it.

    I figure it's just one Thanksgiving in the grand scheme of things.

    Hi--thinking about Tgiving, too. I'm moving to P3 on the 21st and am nervous as heck....... I'm heading to CA for 1 wk to be with family! There'll be lots of food and the BAD stuff--pies, sugar, starches. I've worked SOOOO hard this round and have had soooo many challenges. I'm hoping that those thoughts will carry me through the week with no damage. I'm hoping my sis-in-law has a scale she'll lend me. And, I'm bringing "skinny" jeans as a signal to "STOP" if I indulge. I also plan to keep as busy as I possibly can with the kids (7 nieces and nephews). Plus my daughter whom I haven't seen since May. That's my strategy, anyway. I'm almost at my pre-Tgiving/LIW target: 3.8 lbs to go by 11/17. It'll be very challenging to get there, but I'm giving it all I got for the last few days!!

    This is starting to be a difficult decision. At one point I want to do a P2 day, then I think about all the foods that I only see this time of year and think maybe I'll do a P2 lunch and a very careful dinner with only a bite or two of the non protocol foods.

    I'm still deciding.

    I agree Beth. All that Thanksgiving goodness is tempting not saying that I won't cheat with a few bites here and there, but I'm sticking to my plan. My goal is around Christmas.
