And I'm five weeks from it, but I'm scared of the 1200 calorie diet, I've gotten comfortable with what I do currently. I know I love food, I know you give me an inch it'll turn into a mile. How do I cope with that?
Per Grammy (definitely visit her board on this site as she's the HCG expert), P1 isn't something most of us do. It's some kind of cleansing/detox that some do for some days before loading. I agree with others re: 1200 cals/day, toss the calorie-counting idea out the window! P3 is a critical phase, so definitely check out the other boards for more info on it. The most important thing is to not add foods back too soon! Think of P3 as an elimination diet where you test different foods to see if any of them cause you gains. Only add one new food back every 3 days as it can take the body up to 3 days to produce an inflammatory response. The most problematic foods tend to be eggs, dairy, nuts, etc, so only test one of those food group items at a time, wait 3 days, then test the next food. I don't even count my very first round of HCG because I didn't add foods back slowly and ended up regaining everything I lost. I started fresh the following year and reintroduced foods back the proper way.

    Good luck!

Theresa & Diva I am with you on not counting calories (which doesn't mean I'm not aware of them) I just try to keep my calories up in p3 and p4 since I think going too low starts the body into hoarding fat again. I add slowly fats, dairy ( make my own Greek yogurt) heavy cream in my coffee, lattes with whole milk, increased protein, lots of greens and vegies, 1 fruit a day , eggs. Haven't done much with nuts because I like them but can't seem to eat just a few. I try to avoid starches as much as possible as I know they don't play well with fats and I'd rather have the fats. Following that I lost 8 lbs from my LIW before starting this, my second round. That last 40 day round seemed to change my taste some; so I really enjoyed the food and was so happy to be eating so healthy. I was really surprised when I loaded for this round that some of the foods I thought I would really enjoy were a great disappointment and didn't taste nearly as good as I thought I remembered, so if nothing else loading served a good purpose.

Becca sounds like you have the handle on knowing how to listen to your own needs and knowing when to change things so you can stay on course. Sorry your family and friends aren't more supportive, it's always surprising to see how competitive friends and family can be. Wonder how many stars didn't shine because they kept their light dimmed so as to not upset others.

Trish you go Girl! Way to lose weight, keep it up you inspire us all!

Down to 20.2lbs lost. Had a brief stall but I am expecting that. The drs. office did my measures and I did not want to know what they started at! So not measuring at home either. I want to go for the surprise! I am going to start just weighing every other day. I do not want to be so focused on the scale knowing it will go up down and all around! I am getting very board with the veggies telling myself I can do this it's only temporary. Going to start to read up on PH 3 this week so I can be prepared. My clinic did not go over the next phase at all. I did not even know there was a PH3 until I found this forum. I jumped into this so quickly I hope it does not come back to bite me in the ***! This Friday will be my 2 week point on VLCD!

Oh and I really goofed up tonight and had a spoonful of cool whip while I was making my daughters topping to her smoothie. I feel terrible. I don't know what I was thinking! I saved the worst for last!

    Lightbulb Noticed inflammation is down

I am in physical therapy right now for rotor cuff and compressed nerve for neck. I have noticed my inflammation seems to be better with P2 I am assuming it is the lack of dairy? Anyone else with inflammation issues on P2 that have noticed the difference? My second experience is the b-12 shot I seem to have a boost for 4 days after then my energy level goes away. Also i bought the halos instead of the navel oranges both are great and taste so good but I seem to get more of the navel orange because it it bigger! LOL

My weak moment or lack of brain not working last night with the spoonful of cool whip I paid the price with a tummy ache for 2 hours! I told my daughter and husband they are on their own until P2 is over with. They can fend for themselves. It is just to hard to cook normal food for them and then mine. Trying out crab cakes tonight which i hope is worth giving up my melba! Hope everyone is doing good!

Shea, yes, many people discover that dairy is not our friend I envy those who are still able to tolerate it when they get to P3! The potential trigger foods include dairy, gluten, nuts, soy, corn, sugar, and for some caffeine. Also, I've read many times that people who have arthritis/soreness should avoid nightshades (bell peppers, tomatoes, chili pepper, eggplant, and the spices derived from them such as cayenne). Think of P3 as your "elimination diet" phase because when you test different food groups you'll know for sure which ones are safe and which to avoid.

The Cool Whip experience was valuable as you learned from it, so I hope you're not beating yourself up over it

pinkita sorry that last night I attributed your great post to Diva, slip of the attention there I guess, , you really have a complete understanding about what makes this diet work and are so helpful to those with questions.

Shea I noticed on my first round how many times I had to stop myself from taking a bite or "taste" of some thing without even being hungry just because it was there in front of me, wonder how many extra calories I added doing that all the time. Yeah, and I get you on that orange thing too, I pick the bigest apple from the bin at the grocery store, not that they are all that big this time of year. Dr. S really understood us, because he made a point of saying "no, 2 small apples can't take the place of 1 large apple" .

Diva sorry that you are still dealing with healing up from your surgery, but you do need more protein to heal than we get on this diet. Do continue to check in and let us know how you are doing now and we will be here when you are ready.

AFM a .8 loss this morning, which put me into the 180 at 189.8 , , but I'm taking it with gratitude and doing the happy dance. It's taken awhile but I got to that mini goal and hope to get to 184 before this round ends but not sure I can as the loses are really slowing down, although I am very strict on pop. On the other hand, being able to wear regular sized clothes instead of the "plus size women's clothes" helps me be patient while I wait.

Deep that's so awesome, congrats!!! Your losses are definitely above average, nice!

I haven't decided 100% yet but I'm thinking my last injection will be next Wednesday, 2/11. That way I can start P3 on a weekend...and reunite w/ my beloved coconut cream in my Nespresso coffee! haha! I'll keep you guys posted... oh, I also have to go shopping this weekend for new (and smaller) clothes! Too bad we don't all live near each other, it'd be fun to do these shopping trips or clothing swaps together

I have fibromyalgia, arthritis, bursas, and osteoarthritis. Since starting this program my pain level has diminished to the point that I have eliminated all but one anti-inflammatory medication. For me, this whole program has been life changing. I have not noticed a change with dairy, as I will start using HWC again starting Sunday (yippee for P3). But losing sugar from my diet has made all the difference in the world. I think we all have different foods that trigger our inflammation. I would have never believed it until this experience. At this point - I plan on being P3, with some P4 treats - for life.
    Bring on 2015!

Theresa I agree with your ideas about p3, I so enjoyed the good food I could have that I hated to start this round and leave them behind. I know dairy gets a bad name but I'm not sure it is as bad as a lot of people claim, I know cheese is so concentrated that is needs to be limited, but who doesn't want HWC in their coffee, Greek yogurt, and whole milk in their lattes? But I do think sugar has caused and added to a lot of health issues. a tiny bit might not be bad but it is in so much of the food we eat that our bodies just can't handle it.

AFM a .8 loss this morning happy to see it.

Help! I have stalled again but I have not gone potty in 2 days! I think that may have something to doo with it! I did drink an extra cup of coffee this am to help things out but to no avail I also call the weight loss clinic and asked them to change my dose cause I am getting hungry now but not too much. I am on 15 on the syringe. I am drinking just either 2.2 liters sometimes more a day of water plus 1 cup coffee and 3 cups green tea. I am ok with the stall I am expecting that but I am a bit concerned with being constipated. I also cut back on my salt intake. Of course I called the clinic after closing so I guess I have to wait until Monday for a new dose Any ideas on how to get things moving? Thanks guys for all the feedback!
