    Cool Christian Foothold

Welcome to Christian Foothold! Everyone is welcome as we acknowledge that God is our strength and support in times of trial. I'm asking God to help me through the HCG diet to improve this body He gave me. I'm asking that I can go through it with times of joy along with times of trial and that I would praise him in all things.

Let's gather in faith, joy and need. Let's seek the Holy Spirit in our lives and journeys. I'm Kristilyn. I would love to meet with you folks.

Hebrews 10:25 And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near. NLT

Ephesians 2:20 Together, we are his house, built on the foundation of the apostles and the prophets. And the cornerstone is Christ Jesus himself. NLT

1 Thessalonians 5:18 Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. NLT

Cool What if you're in the valley?

How many times do we feel like we're in the valley and wondering how to get ourselves out? God says He leads us beside still waters and restores our souls. Psalm 23

Yesterday was a tough day for me. I found myself completely frustrated with the hcg process, what my body felt like, the slowing of my weight loss, etc. I tried to keep busy with my gardening but just couldn't rid myself of being in the valley. Why did I try to do it myself? God is right there to lead me beside the still waters, to restore my soul.

This morning is new hope. Everyday is a clean slate. The sky is the limit, anything can happen! Thank You God for being here with me and reminding me who to turn to.

Brothers and Sisters! Let's go forward in the strength of the Lord! May your day be fulfilling, your food be nourishing and your weight loss be all that you strive for.

    I'm in love with halibut!

I had the most delicious halibut tonight. I poached it with a garlic/pepper/salt and some dill. Wow, was that good. For a veggie I just didn't feel like spinach tonight so I had celery. The crunchy was nice. I had the rest of the apple I couldn't eat at lunch tonight. All done. I'll say this, going through the food aisles at Walmart was hard. Normally I would throw some sort of snack in the cart and eat it in the car. Temptation!

1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it. NASB

    Cool

    Acts 16:25 and 26

    25But about midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns of praise to God, and the prisoners were listening to them;
26and suddenly there came a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison house were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone's chains were unfastened.

I have moments of great frustration because I want this weight to fall off and be done with it in a week. I admit it, I have no patience! I love the scripture of Paul and Silas singing in prison. I feel imprisoned by my fat and if Paul and Silas could sing and pray while having sores on their bodies and clapped in irons in a filthy prison, can't I sing and pray from my "prison?"

Today I am asking God to get a lot of water in me (seems to help so much), give me pause to go to Him frequently throughout the day and keep busy, not just sitting there thinking about the things I'd like to eat. Thank You Father for a body that works well in spite of what I've done to it, for the opportunity to use the hcg diet and for caring about and loving me unconditionally. Amen.

Probably going to eat the last of my halibut for lunch. Not sure what to do about a veggie. Is anyone experiencing an aversion to veggies? Early on I had an aversion to meat. Now that's switched to veggies. Love having apples!

God's blessings on you all today. May your faith be great and your bodies light!

I too am thankful to God for the amazing ability of my body to heal even after decades of abuse and starving it.

I'm 52 years old and I have done unspeakable things to my metabolism. In addition I have polycystic ovarian syndrome and the insulin resistance that goes along with it. This is the first time I have tried anything that has moved my body fat. It's hard but so worth it! I'm so glad you have God in your life to give the burden to when you can't carry it anymore. I just lay back sometimes and say, "God, you got this one!"

    Cool Bionic heartburn

Wowee, my lower esophagus has been on fire for hours now. I finally took an omeprazole to shut down some of this stomach acid. My stomach feels too full, like it hasn't processed dinner. Not sure what to do about that! I had halibut but a little cooked spinach and baked apple.

Acts 2:42 They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.

In essence when we HCGers come together on these forums we are gathering for fellowship. We're sharing food tips, recipes and on this site, prayer and support in the Lord. God never said for us to journey by ourselves. Look at the Israelites in the desert. God gave them His cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night. They were never alone, God never left them. They had plenty of food; meat rained down around them because they complained they were hungry. They didn't trust God would provide. Then they were given manna, food of angels. And water gushed from rocks God had burst open.

Matthew 6:25-27 25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life ?

Father God, thank You for providing for us every little morsel we eat on this diet. Please bless it our bodies and keep us healthy, caring for Your temples that is our bodies. Thank You for loving us and for carrying the burden we feel at times. In the name of Your Son Jesus we pray, Amen.

Go forth and be nourished friends!

    Cool Happy Friday Everybody!

I have to tell you about my trip to Walmart yesterday. I passed the aisle with all of the different types of m&m's on it. Bright shiny packages promising complete delight when you eat it. I love m&ms. All kinds of them. For a minute I pictured myself grabbing a bag, sitting on the floor and just throwing it in my mouth as fast as possible. That'd be quite a look but I'll tell you, I'm not above it! So if I wanted to eat tons of it fast, does that have anything to do with enjoying the candy or just the idea of it being something that's not on the diet? I got to thinking about why I was in Walmart and what that had to do with m&ms. I realized that almost everywhere I would go, if there was something tasty to eat I would buy it and eat it, usually in my car. Now I'm not sure what to do in these situations where I'm not buying something to eat in my car. Or snacking. No snacks so what do I do with myself when I'm not eating? Which is most of the time. That's been new for me. I've been gardening, loom knitting, tending to my horses and dogs, spring cleaning of my house, adult coloring book, etc.

What have you all been doing when you're not eating?

Romans 15: 5,6 - 5 Now may the God [b]who gives perseverance and encouragement grant you to be of the same mind with one another according to Christ Jesus, 6 so that with one accord you may with one [c]voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Losing weight will help a lot with your PCOS and insulin resistance. Something I used and believe really helped lower my insulin resistance is a natural supplement called berberine. Tests have shown that it works as well as metformin. I took it for about three months, and my tests showed a dramatic change. You might research it a bit and see if you think it might help you.

I agree--HCG gives us the opportunity for "re-training" while losing weight (and not eating all the time). It really does highlight how much we depend on mindless snacking to fill time and its a challenge to replace that with positive activities. I spent a lot of time in my HCG rounds on this forum, and reading and researching things online so that I could form better strategies toward healthiness. I also would go out and walk instead of thinking about snacking. That helped me a lot, because it was pleasant and didn't require a lot of mental effort.

    Happy Saturday!

Matthew 3:4 Now John himself had a garment of camel’s hair and a leather belt around his waist; and his food was locusts and wild honey.

Luckily Dr. Simion's diet wasn't around then or we would only have been able to eat the locusts! I wonder if they would have been an approved protein....

I love chewing gum but I figured I'd better find out if there were gum sweetened by stevia. I learned some interesting stuff. The gums that are made with stevia have a gum base like all other gums. It's made with plastic and other terrible stuff that's synthetic. Natural gum, chicle, is a natural latex from the tree. This is where gum began, such as Chiclets. The Sweetly Stevia company harvest stevia with water, not chemicals and will be adding gum with the natural chicle base soon. I'll be waiting!

Do you have a favorite P2 food? I'm trying to be grateful for everything I eat but I will admit I am tired of it. Bored is a better word. I'm bored. Anybody else? And I'm a little nervous to head into P3.

Matthew 6:25 “For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?
