Losing weight will help a lot with your PCOS and insulin resistance. Something I used and believe really helped lower my insulin resistance is a natural supplement called berberine. Tests have shown that it works as well as metformin. I took it for about three months, and my tests showed a dramatic change. You might research it a bit and see if you think it might help you.
I agree--HCG gives us the opportunity for "re-training" while losing weight (and not eating all the time). It really does highlight how much we depend on mindless snacking to fill time and its a challenge to replace that with positive activities. I spent a lot of time in my HCG rounds on this forum, and reading and researching things online so that I could form better strategies toward healthiness. I also would go out and walk instead of thinking about snacking. That helped me a lot, because it was pleasant and didn't require a lot of mental effort.
