QUOTE=lastchanceatlosing;767297]Thanks so much for the welcome Rusty and I SO appreciate the tough love! I really am not sure what I am doing here so I need it! Do you suggest I do it up until the wedding and then do Phase 3? I honestly do not even know what Phase 3 is really. I just want the losses to keep coming. I have no clue what paleo is either. I have tried to read and read and read about all of this, but I am still not clear on some things. Any suggestions you guys have...feel free to let me know. I am 100% in this and want to do everything I can to get this weight off. I'm so happy to be here! I'm not bored with the foods so far and am scared to change anything. Hope you all had an awesome weekend!!! Hoping for a loss in the morning!
The different phases are a set thing through Dr. Simeon's
protocol. You need to read 'Pounds and Inches' which is free all over the web. This explains the original diet using hCG. Many companies are selling hhCG, or hCG with abridged instructions, with Dr. S, you get the facts of fat and how hCG works through it.
If you are going 43 days, then you need to go 40 day with hCG and 3 more days on the 500 cal diet. After that, you are in P3, which you should do for 3 weeks, then P4 for 3 weeks.
P3 Same as P2, but increasing portions and adding fats (coconut oil, EVOO, avocado, lard, butter), all non starchy veggies, different meats (pork) and slowly adding in "caution" foods like eggs (have eggs for breakfast, and wait 2 or 3 days to see if it has affected your weight), dairy products, and processed meats (bacon, lunch meat, etc). Stay away from anything bread-y or starchy (bread, pastries, pasta, potatoes, rice, oats...).
Now, if you decide to go Paleo/Primal, take the time to study these ways of eating. The Internet is full of info, and a few good reads are: Primal Body, Primal Mind, The Paleo Solution, and Primal Blueprint. These three books cover the different styles of the same type eating. I would also suggest Wheat Belly, to help explain about grains. Going "Paleo/Primal" you would stop at P3 and not move into P4.
P4 is when you add starches, sugars, and grains. Basically the Standard American Diet (SAD). You stay in P4 for 3 weeks, then go back to loading for P2 if you do another hCG round. On your second round, you increase P3 and P4 one week each (8 weeks total), then on round 3 you would increase another 2 weeks, and so on.
What you have to remember is that everyone is different. hCG works for a lot of people, but not for everyone. It's a matter of sticking to
protocol, your mindset, your willingness to commit. There are easy days and tough days. Keep on reading. Learn about whole foods (Real Food by Nina Planck is a real good one to start with. Hopefully you have a library card to get all these books!), different ways of eating, and keep posting with good stuff and bad (accountibility).
You might want to journal, it's a great way to look back and keep track. Journal your food, thoughts/feelings, daily weigh ins, measurements, etc. Write out your goals, the big ones are good, but small ones are best. My first goal was to lose 5 lbs (made that one by
VLCD2), then 5 more, then to get below 300, then 10% of my starting weight. Baby steps. Plan out rewards (not food) to treat yourself with as you obtain the bigger goals (15 lbs, below a set weight, etc), like a hair styling, or a new pair of shoes, whatever will keep you on track.
Sorry for the novel here. Keep your eyes on the prize!
