Its been great catching up on all the posts! Not much to report on my end..which I guess is a good thing. Still stabilizing at 202lbs..which makes it almost 3 months at the same weight! I will be starting Round 4 November 15th so I am counting down the days until I can start losing again. So excited! Hope everyone is well

Disclaimer - food **** coming up. Those are my cake balls - I think I made them too big for actual cake pops, and I definitely had no suitable sticks... but I just wrapped them up, will pack them safely in the morning at work, and hope they arrive in one piece... and that my best friend likes them I have *no* clue what they taste like, since I have a) never tried cake pops, b) have never actually seen cake pops, and c) will not break my HCG P2 for cake pops.

Still happy with their rustic handmade look...

Believe me, it is part of the program.... Simeon is just plain wrong when he claims there are no in-between gains. I know I always gain 5 lbs prior to TOM, for example... well, I did, it has been getting better since going paleo in between. My body just has no inflammation anymore, and therefore doesn't store any water anymore. If you get a cold, you retain water. If TOM is close, you retain water. Dang, just by losing weight you can retain water. You will know when that weight drops again - at least I always do, because I just release loads of water that day.

If you want to stress less, do not weigh for a couple of days, preferrably waiting until you have to go the loo a lot - then you will see a swoosh.

HCG works like a charm... it really does.

    Hi all!
I don't even remember when I last checked in - last week was horrible! I was depressed, fatigued, nauseous, everything smelled bad and tasted bad, insane sugar cravings, my feelings were completely numb and my libido was gone! So I quit everything - hcg and birth control pill. I just don't want any more hormones in my body right now. Six days off hcg and two days off the pill and I am finally starting to feel like myself again. The sky is blue, the birds are chirping...I am back to feeling optimistic and happy with life.

The cravings were so bad I did have some sugar cheats this weekend, and I ate a lot! I am usually a two meal a day gal when eating paleo, but this weekend I was have three big meals a day and totally ignoring hunger. But I feel like I am getting back to normal on that front finally as well. The sugar cravings are subsiding and my motivation is back. Phew! It was a glimpse into what a complete spiral into bad habits could look like, and it was scary! I did gain two pounds over the weekend, but I am choosing not to freak out and just get back to eating real food only when I am hungry and I know I will continue to lose.

In the midst of all this, I did go shopping this weekend and was able to squeeze myself into a pair of size 12 jeans! woo hoo! Of course, I could not find any other 12's in other styles that I fit into, but oh well, I will get there.

So after all of this hormone drama and finally feeling at a weight that I feel confident in (even if I do still want to drop another 35lbs), I think this might be the end of my journey with hcg. I know it will always be available as a weight loss helper should I need it, but I think mentally and physically my body is done with it. I kind of feel like I should migrate away from this forum, but this has been such a source of support and encouragement these past 7 months I can't imagine not checking in! So I will probably continue to lurk. :P

Caz - I get you.... and while we would miss you terribly, I understand if this thread could be a wrong trigger when you gotta concentrate on what's coming next.

Pretty sure this is my last round for now, too, although I am nowhere near you yet. If I stall down the road or need it, HCG is a great fall-back... but paleo is so much healthier and happier.

Sure! I think we just love this thread because no-one is 130lbs and trying to fit into a size zero.... some people, you just wanna shake. Or feed pizza.

I am 5'6" - so the pounds are probably distributed differently.

Yea, we are about the same weight now, give or take a pound! Yea my problem is my top and bottom and ARMS, I do not like my arms anymore!!!! . Don't have much of a stomach, I just had major surgery in August (ovarian tumors) and that was pushing my weight up and my stomach out. Ever since, my stomach has been flattening out and I am dropping weight. I have been on B-12 Lipo shots for about 4 1/2 weeks and I have been dropping from those too and now I am on my HCG. The B-12 Lipo injections will hopefully give me a boost, an advantage. I am loading and have dropped weight and am eating more than I have in a long time i.e, Soul Food Buffet Brunches at B. Smith's... I will be happy when the loading days are over.

QUOTE=lastchanceatlosing;767297]Thanks so much for the welcome Rusty and I SO appreciate the tough love! I really am not sure what I am doing here so I need it! Do you suggest I do it up until the wedding and then do Phase 3? I honestly do not even know what Phase 3 is really. I just want the losses to keep coming. I have no clue what paleo is either. I have tried to read and read and read about all of this, but I am still not clear on some things. Any suggestions you guys have...feel free to let me know. I am 100% in this and want to do everything I can to get this weight off. I'm so happy to be here! I'm not bored with the foods so far and am scared to change anything. Hope you all had an awesome weekend!!! Hoping for a loss in the morning!

The different phases are a set thing through Dr. Simeon's protocol. You need to read 'Pounds and Inches' which is free all over the web. This explains the original diet using hCG. Many companies are selling hhCG, or hCG with abridged instructions, with Dr. S, you get the facts of fat and how hCG works through it.

If you are going 43 days, then you need to go 40 day with hCG and 3 more days on the 500 cal diet. After that, you are in P3, which you should do for 3 weeks, then P4 for 3 weeks.

P3 Same as P2, but increasing portions and adding fats (coconut oil, EVOO, avocado, lard, butter), all non starchy veggies, different meats (pork) and slowly adding in "caution" foods like eggs (have eggs for breakfast, and wait 2 or 3 days to see if it has affected your weight), dairy products, and processed meats (bacon, lunch meat, etc). Stay away from anything bread-y or starchy (bread, pastries, pasta, potatoes, rice, oats...).

Now, if you decide to go Paleo/Primal, take the time to study these ways of eating. The Internet is full of info, and a few good reads are: Primal Body, Primal Mind, The Paleo Solution, and Primal Blueprint. These three books cover the different styles of the same type eating. I would also suggest Wheat Belly, to help explain about grains. Going "Paleo/Primal" you would stop at P3 and not move into P4.

P4 is when you add starches, sugars, and grains. Basically the Standard American Diet (SAD). You stay in P4 for 3 weeks, then go back to loading for P2 if you do another hCG round. On your second round, you increase P3 and P4 one week each (8 weeks total), then on round 3 you would increase another 2 weeks, and so on.

What you have to remember is that everyone is different. hCG works for a lot of people, but not for everyone. It's a matter of sticking to protocol, your mindset, your willingness to commit. There are easy days and tough days. Keep on reading. Learn about whole foods (Real Food by Nina Planck is a real good one to start with. Hopefully you have a library card to get all these books!), different ways of eating, and keep posting with good stuff and bad (accountibility).

You might want to journal, it's a great way to look back and keep track. Journal your food, thoughts/feelings, daily weigh ins, measurements, etc. Write out your goals, the big ones are good, but small ones are best. My first goal was to lose 5 lbs (made that one by VLCD2), then 5 more, then to get below 300, then 10% of my starting weight. Baby steps. Plan out rewards (not food) to treat yourself with as you obtain the bigger goals (15 lbs, below a set weight, etc), like a hair styling, or a new pair of shoes, whatever will keep you on track.

Sorry for the novel here. Keep your eyes on the prize!

Oh My Rusty! You are doing great less than a year! Thats amazing! I am both proud and inspired to know that I can do this too! Keep up the great work!
