Thread: Happy Stabilizers

    Hello everyone!

Lori - the concert was great! It was a Beatles band and they were good! I hear ya -I can not eat like a normal person either (as evidence of my 30lb weight gain). I really want to go see an endocrinologist and have my hormone levels tested. I have been getting hot flashes like there is no tomorrow - and I had a full hysteretomy 9 years ago!! I took the hormone replacements for a bout a year and then weaned myself off of them. I wonder if that was a mistake- been having weight issues since then big time.

Julie-I'll check out those sites. Sadly enough, when I looked in the mirror last Nov/Dec - I saw myself at goal weight (within 1 lb). Sadly here I sit well, well over....again.

    P - how ya doing???

Day 3 of this crazy diet - screwed up breakfast because for some reason I grabbed a greek yogurt instead of an apple. Oh well. For dinner I get 1 cup of tuna, 1/2 banana and 1 cup vanilla ice cream. I am done with this diet though after today - will just eat healthy until after the cruise. Have been reading about the type of fat you carry determines which type of protein is best for you - whey vs soy. My daughter is wanting to lose a little weight. She has always been skinny - but now her metabolism is slowing down (she is 22 - abut when that hit me too - she is a mini-me!). I was hoping she would have gotten her dads metabolism not mine. Anyway we may try more protein shakes. So yes I have gained 30lbs, but to be quite honest at my lowest I didn't feel like I could maintina. (135). So my realistic goal was in teh low 140's. Today I was 162. BUT as I smack myself with 1 hand I pat myself on the back with the other - I am nto going to let myself slide back to > 200! I have come a along way and this is truly a journey of learning about your body - mind and soul too!! Although I am tired of learning and just want a crystal ball!!

ok p.s. Julie - I checked out those sites. Here is where I get frustrated. My weight is SO unevenly distributed that I can add 30 lbs to the model and my belly still doens't look like it does in real life (I tried all 3 model types). That is why everyone is always surprised at what sizes I am wearing for the weight I am at. It is all belly fat- ugh!! That was cool though I must say!! Thanks!

    Good Morning!
Hey Lorie - glad your steak day went well. I didnt weigh so have no idea except that my craving have diminished a great deal. So thats good. Sticking with all protein/veggies as much as possible is a good plan to knock off a few lbs.
Patty, I dont know whether to laugh or cry over what you wrote. You are so funny to have thought to use the mens model!!! I never would have thought of that! But I have often looked at other women who carried their wt primarily in their middle and thought how much easier that must be. At least you can throw on a big shirt and feel reasonably comfortable. And I always thought that once that weight is lost - a quick tummy tuck could make things all good again. For me, I need a full body lift and its exhausting trying to keep all those unsightly areas covered. But I completely understand the frustration no matter where you carry your weight. Doesnt matter at all when we cant seem to keep it off. Especially when we have done the work --- more than once!
Please stay away from soy ---- it creates estrogen and that may work against you in the fat department. It also has a negative effect on thyroid function. SO I would stick with Whey protein. Even if you have a diary sensitivity, it is not supposed to have an impact and I forget why. What are your plans now that you are off that plan? When is the cruise?
    P - how ya doing on P2???

AFM... I am getting my mind around going back to P2. I am looking forward to it, actually. I am a little bummed...ok more than a little to know that I have not been successful. But like you Patty, I am reasonably pleased not to be >200 lbs again!!! I did notice something in the last round... I dont know how to eat reasonably normal anymore. I no longer sit and have a real meal. I have some of this and some of that and never seem to be fully satisfied. Maybe its bc I live alone... Have I been on diets soo long that I no longer can see "Normal" Are we thinking we are eating normally - like others - but really we are eating normally - like others - when they are indulging???? Does that make sense?

OK hope all you guys are having a great day and have happy losses!

Well P, I certainly hope so! But dont go by me... I cant get thru the 3 day transition!
    Have fun!

I had Quinoa for the first time tonight. I ve heard a lot of recommendations for it and was really looking for something carby tonight. I made some with lemon and broccoli. I dont know if I ate too much --- 1/2 c--- but boy was that satisfying!!! I just hope it reacts as a protein and not a grain. Hope there is no wt spike tomorrow. If there is, I see a steak day in my future!

UPDATE- scale going in the right direction so Quinoa was good for me. I just have to make sure I dont overdo it as is my M.O. Still looking at P2 by the end of the week. Have to keep saying that so my mind hears it and gets into gear!

    Have a good DAY everyone!

    hellllooooooooooooo

Well, still wrapping my head around going back to P2. I think I am ok with it. I have a party on Sat so it will be considered a load day.

P--- how is P2 going for you?
Patty? Are you packing? When do you leave?
Lorie --- hope the weather turns better for you to travel back home!

Going out to dinner tonight. I suggested a Diner bc I really want a full plate breakfast - you know --- eggs, sausage--- no toast but I may have some of the home fries.

Hope you are all having a good day!

Ok Ladies... Since I have been eating like I am loading, I just slapped a patch on! I couldnt wait anymore and watch the numbers on the scale spin out of control! I really have to come to terms with the fact that there are lots of foods I just cannot have any longer if I want to keep my weight down. I am home tomorrow --- no plans so I think it will be a good day to start P2. I may do 30 days this time. I am praying!

Hey Patty, Quinoa is a wonderful grain-like superfood that doesnt re/act in your system like a grain. Here is a link describing the health benefits, and there are many- benefits and articles.
    http://www.builtlean.com/2013/04/03/...-cooking-tips/
Almost every nutritionist will recommend Quinoa since most people dont eat it and it really hits the carb button without being a bad carb. And it has a lovely array of nutrients and is a plant based protein like spinach. It may be a good thing for all of us to begin eating on a regular basis. The recipes are varied and wonderfully inventive since Quinoa really takes on the flavors of what you put with it.

OK Who is with me on P2??? P - just me & you? How are you doing?
Lorie, did you say you might do another round? I cannot remember.
God, please dont tell me I am going to be writing the same thing this time next year -----
Oh, did I tell you guys....I bought a fuschia bicycle!!! I have got to find something I can do to have fun and get exercise and fresh air!!! Lord, help me!!!

    Have a good night, everyone!

    Hi Guys!

Happy Saturday! On my way out to a Bday party. I am taking my own food! Wt is going down again --- feeling back in control. I really think they need to create an HCG patch that has a low level hum of hcg that you can use all the time and can have some fat wo gaining a ton.
Is that doable? Anyone working on that? hehehe....

HOw are you guys doing? OK - have a great day!

Hello - all is well here! I stopped by Trader Joes to get some almond butter and not only were they out but I couldn't find a space on the shelf where it belongs! They said amost butter had gotten so popular that they have run out of almonds. Can you believe that? They said they expect their next shipment mid-Sept - boo hiss!! This is a shortage everywhere.

Julie - good for you for taking your own food! I agree -w ish I could have hcg all the time! Congrats that weight is going back down. Right on!

Doing well here -eating healthy -lost 3 lbs this week.
