I was in maintenance for over 10 months and if I induldged in something out of my norm I would gain at least 2 lbs. So yes this diet is alife style change adn you cannot go back to eating the way you used to and think the weight is going to stay off because it is not no matter if you are in P4 and stable or not! It's all about the food choices you make and making that life style change to healthier foods!
Shannon, I think we are saying the same thing, but you are just talking in extremes. I never said that eating what you want is the same as going back to how you ate pre-hcg. For me, because of insulin resistance or metabolic syndrome, (or whatever they are calling it now!) , I had relentless carb cravings and hunger pre-hcg. It was a monkey on my back, unable to stop eating, unable to wait even 3 hours to eat, unable to control my eating so I could stop a few hours before bedtime. Even when I ate only 20 carbs a day, I would gain weight, not lose. I was without hope. I even quit working out when I started gaining weight. So it makes no sense to me to equate *eating with pre-diabetes* to *eating what I want*, because *eating with pre-diabetes* is like being totally out of control and in hell.

I didn't say anything about eating sugar, starch, or deep fried foods for days in a row. . .that is you guys. I am still at 225 lbs, still have insulin issues, so I do not have the bandwith to take those chances. I choose fats over carbs, but I am happy with that. I'm happy with steak, eggs, HWC,hm ice cream, cheesecake delight, low carb veggies, seafood, macadamias and walnuts, coffee, so that is what I mean by *eating what I want*. It is a lifestyle change, but not because of making hard decisions and depriving yourself. It is an easy lifestyle change because the weight drops off easily and you are not hungry all the time. JMO

It is difficult to find healthy lard, at least in the US. If you can find someone who renders it, that would probably be good, but otherwise it is usually preserved with BHA, BHT, or TBHQ, which are chemical, petroleum based preservatives.

We are talking about people who are in P4 and have reset their hypothalamus, and are supposedly stabilized. If you have stabilized, you should not gain 6 lbs on vacation and have to work to take it back off.

Feel free to think what you want.
    I dont know who you are either.. but that doesnt matter. I was just surprised by your own words;

"I thought our weight was supposed to stabilize and stay there. Like when I was in high school, I weighed 140 to 145 for the whole 4 years, no matter what I ate. I guess I'm mistaken, but I thought that was the point of this."

You backtracked and say that you didnt REALLY mean "no matter what I ate". I just wanted to point out to anyone who might not "get it" yet, that this isnt about resetting and not gaining weight "no matter what I eat".

In your own words ,thats what you portrayed as your expectation. I was just trying to correct anyone that thought the same. Sorry if it offended you. I suppose my example of a magic pill staving off the effects of a large pizza was a bit too tongue-and-cheek for you.. sorry if you view it as immature. I could say that its pretty immature to take such offense to someone questioning you.. but I dont know you so I wouldn't make that leap.

OK down another 1.6 at 126 getting closer to my 123 area.. My BFF that I have been telling no for months now since I wanted to stabilize and was in round2 wants to go out Thursday night but you know what it's OK if I gain a little I can see that it is coming off fast now, I love being stable and having a plan It's great to have this forum because honestly I didn't want to post on Monday when I went back to the 130 area after a weekend of cheats much less get on the scale but that's what we are here for - accountability and support. Let's keep up the good work!!

Wish I had a magic pill, lol.
I am 5'4" 44 yo. Was stable at 123 last round, lost focus, back at 144.
R1 1/11 Started at 170lbs got to 140. Another round 9/12 got to 123. Goal is to get back in that area and hold under 130.

I think that hCG is about as "magic pill" as it gets. 'Course you still got to do all the work! Bummer!

Danielle, you and your BFF have a great time! You know what you can and can't do, the nice thing is having the power to make those decisions!
    Starting weight: 261.2

Awesome loss today Danielle!! You make it look so easy to drop the vacation weight!

AFM - I am up to 123 today after a massive hardcore work out last night at aerobics so I am sure it is water retention. Today I'm pushing the water, protein and good fats and no eggs today with hopes of seeing it drop some tomorrow. Since being in P4 prior to going on vacation and then gianing my 6 lbs on vacation I can honestly say that the number on the scale doesn't really bother me since all my clothes fit and my body is still the same as it was prior to me going on vacation even though I am still 4.2 lbs above LDW. SinceI have been back from vacation I have ate super clean aside from last Friday night I had some beers but no gain from it so I am a happy girl. My last round was more of a vanity round so as long as I can stay below 125 I will be a super happy girl as I have never weighed so little or worn such small clothes in my life time!

I did find some farm sites that sell pure tallow from 3 different animals, but almost all were out of stock. Also very expensive. I'm gonna buy a 5lb gallon when I find some it will last forever!

I'm sure you are right about this but try these guys, send them an email and ask them how it's processed, they have some organic oils I used to make my soaps, they will ship ups fast, to make it worth it you would by 55 lb tubs like I do for the suet, oh, you all seem to like coconut oils, they have them.
columbusfoods.com they are based out of Illinois here, I've used them for years
Doing the best that I can , from where I am. All is well

Debee I am kind of a P3er for life really as I don't plan to add starch and sugars back into my lifestyle except for maybe once in a great while. That is what I did for the 10 months in between my last rounds and it worked great for me and pretty much just ate a paleo/primal diet of all meat, vegi's, berries and once in a while eziekel bread.
