    Much cooler here this weekend. Went from High 30's (Celsius) down to under 20. Crazy weather we get sometimes. So didn't do any walks yet this weekend as it was raining as well.

    I have been fluctuating from 132.x to 135 lately. I still use the 135 as it was my LIW

    I only did one steak day so far, and the loss was good. I think I am into the day 40ish in P4 now.

    I introduced a Beef Samosa with Mango Chutney sauce the other day, and went up to 135. Yesterday I had some cocoa crack along with just normal foods that I know I can eat and down to 134 today.

    Today I won't introduce anything new and see what tomorrow brings.

    @kapluzie123 your menus do sound good.

    @absagain. Hope the concert was fun, and that your steak day worked for you. Just remember to not do too many of those steak days, as they may become ineffective after awhile.

    @roselanoue congrats on getting new art done. What type of art is it you do? Paintings?

    Hello Ladies,
    The menu on fmd is good-- I forgot to write my dinner- which was a steak with mushrooms and onions and some orange bell peppers and jicama- that was yesterday.
    Today I had:
    eggs and turkey bacon for breakfast
    smoked salmon with 2 cups of sliced cucumbers for a snack
    steak salad for lunch
    egg whites and veggies for an afternoon snack
    southwest beef and cabbage soup for dinner

    We went to a NY Mets game today. We were lucky enough to get some seats in the shade as it was 94* today here. I packed a lot of my food and took it with me. I was very happy that I was allowed to bring it into the stadium.
    I was a little up on the scale this morning-- not quite sure why-- but I'm good with it. On the fmd- we're only suppose to weigh in once a week- because of such fluctuations. But I don't want to get into the habit of not weighing myself. It's also a good lesson for me to learn, not to get worried about a few ounces..
    3 more days and I'll be half way through the program. I'll have to admit- the cold beer at the game did look appealing and the nathans French fries were calling my name-- I thought about giving in.... but I didn't. It really was a test of my strength.

    Rose- I went to your website and viewed your art-- beautiful! I'm glad you are sharing your talent with the world.
    Jayk- I love how you stabilized... you're so positive and grounded. Love that!

    Abs-- Where are you? How did your SD go? And how was the concert?

    I'm hoping to go see the Zac Brown Band this weekend.. We'll see if we can get some tickets.

    Tomorrow, I start the phase that I can have fat and grains and some fruit...

    Went to Golden Corral for lunch yesterday and ate well and thought I'd be up today because of sodium they put in but same 139.6 which in happy with.

    Kapulzie. I too have decided to do daily weighing even in p4 so I get to know my body by sometimes up or down but I no longer freak out. Thx for your kind words about my paintings

    Everyone have a great week. My husband getting cataract surgery Wednesday so keep him in prayer.

    hello ladies,
    sounds like ya'll are doing so much better than I am. ive been having one epic fail after another. up 4lbs today.
    So I am doing an egg day. we went to buffalo wild wings Thursday, was up 2 got off 1. then we went out again, Saturday
    and sunday. most of these meals were not planned. I am very disappointed in myself. drinking lots of water and eating
    just eggs today. oh yum....canning grape juice and jelly as well.
    going out to daughters tonight to pick plums. then getting peaches. canning them all sugar free!

    tanyamac- buffalo wild wings-- never been but would love to... I love hot wings.. I didn't know about an "egg" day. I would be interested in your results. The canned produce sounds delicious! I wish I knew how to can. I just took the boys peach and nectarine picking.. we had a ball. I have confidence that you will be back on track in a day or so-- you've seemed to identify how your body needs to eat to maintain-- and every now and again, if you gain- you'll be back on track when you return to your normal eating habits. Stay strong-- you've got this.

    rose- golden corral- my hubs loves that place. kudos to you for not having any change.

    AFM- I was back down again today.. going to the beach tomorrow and premade all of my meals and snacks. I have to admit, all this preparing is becoming overwhelming. I still have a little over 2 weeks left.

    Tanyamac. Dont get discouraged Buddalo wings are spicy and hot sauce has tobs f sodium which could cause a twp to three lb temporary weight gain eat clean for a few days and, s you arw doing, deink lots of water to flush the sodium oit.m its ok to eat out. Justlan in advance what u r going to have.

    Just a quick check in- I had a slight downward movement on the scale this morning, -.2. Today, I'm in phase 3 and get to eat fruit, grains and fats AND I'm off to the beach. Loving life. Hope everyone is enjoying too.

    Hey gals,
    Sorry I haven't been able to tune in lately. We've been extremely busy here with kids' schooling starting, meetings, driving my daughter to work, and moving furniture because our floors are getting refinished. My steak day was semi-successful. It got me down to 1.2 above LDW; however, I did another steak day 2 days later, which was also only so-so successful.

    Jayk, I sure wish I had tuned in here and saw your warning because I don't want them to become ineffective. Dr. Simeon never said don't do too many too often. Thanks for your warning. It must be comfortable to be under LIW.

    Today is my first day of TOM, explaining my inexplicable weight gains. My TOM is so unpredictable after a round that I often don't think about it. I went 37 days between cycles this time... And restaurants...remember when eating out was a treat and there was so much to choose from on the menu? Now it's a challenge and the menu, a minefield.

    Tanya, I feel for you gaining from Buffalo Wild Wings. I've done that before--and all I had was spicy wings! Not even BBQ sauce. Rose is probably right about the sodium. Sorry to hear about your gains lately. I was wondering what was going on with you. It's hard to chime in when we're struggling or busy, but that's probably when we should. Did you do several steak days, too? Could you tell me where you got your sugar-free canning methods from? I've got three grape vines with lots of Concord grapes on them and would love to can them sugar-free! I've only ever canned tomatoes, but my mother used to make the best grape jelly...just not the kind I can eat.

    Rose, I'd like to see your art if you have samples online. I'm a pencil and watercolor artist primarily, although I have little time at this phase of life to devote to it. Good for you remaining stable in weight. And yay for staying home and good Golden Corral results.

    Kapluzie, every day this week I wanted to get on here and catch up! I was worried you'd give me up for lost. I haven't been home long enough to catch up on emails or phone calls, much less this forum. I actually had my family get their dinner from Chick-fil-A last night because I had no time to cook! (I ate a lettuce "sandwich" later at home with mustard, corned beef, melted Swiss cheese). And of course we're going camping today because we can't stay in the house while the floors are being refinished. I'm really looking forward to the normal routine of fall. There's a lot to be said for staying home and the mundane.

    Yesterday I went to the beach with some meals and snacks in Tupperware to enjoy. I wasn't as compliant as I needed to be. I ate half of my meals and devoured 2 peaches the size of softballs throughout the day. When I was home, I wasn't hungry at all, and skipped my dinner meal as it was 8pm. But at midnight, I wanted something sweet- so I ate another peach. All the peaches were on plan and I was allowed to have 3 fruits-- but I don't believe they intended me to have 3 softball sized peaches in 1 day. lol. I was up .2 this morning. No biggie- well worth the enjoyment I had yesterday. Today, I'm back and eating off the meal maps and menus. I've been stable with my weight for 2 weeks now and eating all kinds of foods that I never thought I would eat again. I just started to have my first sugar cravings-- I think being at the ballpark and all those smells did me in. Because the next day, I desperately wanted a sugary treat. But I restrained myself- only to eat 3 peaches yesterday. I found a recipe that is compliant with the diet for a snack-- it's the mug cake. Maybe, I'll make that if my sugar cravings reoccur.
    Todays menu-
    breakfast= oatmeal berry smoothie
    snack=cashew butter with bok choy
    lunch=shrimp salad and raspberries
    snack=sweet potato hummus and cucumbers
    dinner=coconut pecan-crusted halibut with artichoke dip

    Sweet potatoes are an unlimited veggie on this and the next phase-- going to experiment and make a sweet potato and jicama slaw.

    Basically I believe the rule is one steak day a week and if needed you can only do the second after 4 days, not less. Grammy's thread also states that the gain could be from inflammation to a certain food, so it might settle down after a day or so.
    It's just sometimes people do them and they aren't over the 2lbs, so didn't want to scare you , but just alert you that if one does too many like 2 in one week with only a couple days apart, that could become ineffective.
    But if done once per week if needed, until you figure out what is causing the weight gain, then that is fine.

    Steak Day vs Correction Days

I know i must stay away from snacks, like Taco's, cheezies, etc. I have to tell myself to eat only healthy snacks, and not prepackaged ones. I have to remind myself how hard it was to get here, so I want to stay here

    JayK glad you are doing well. Im on day 50 p4 r5 and hopefully last round. In previous rounds the creeping gains over one year from 5-10 lbs was always caused by my starting to eat junk food snacks. Im not doing that so far. F im hungry i try to eat a protein chocolate bar or a handful f sun dried tomatoes or one or two T of peanut butter. Some days i have 3 fruits. If i eat too late that is where i might be tempted to eat too many starchy bad packaged foods. So you are right to be leery of them. They are a trap for me. I never posted on the forums once i finished my round. This time ive decided to weigh every day and keep involved in the forums We can keep each other accountable.

    Well roselanoue you summed it up pretty well as that is what can happen to me as well. So yes I am trying as well to just not have them around or near and keep just protein bar or fruit nearby

    I did have some raw nuts a week or so ago, and that didn't bother my weight any.

    Yes this time around i am weighing every day as well, so I can keep track better. I agree staying on the forums in P4 and beyond , even if I just read them some days is a big help.
    I enjoy reading your posts and the other ladies and helping each other if I can

    I would love to see some of your art as well if you have a link
