My next high day I'm going to try your FMD-theory and eat every few hours, just to mix things up. I don't want steak days to become ineffective. Do you avoid fruit or dairy on those FMD-ish days?

It's like we're a bunch of scientists trying to figure out the right formula for our bodies to maintain our weights. We make hypotheses and run experiments to test our theories.

How many rounds have you done, BTW, Jayk? And how many days into P4 are you? I'm so glad you're maintaining without needing many steak days.
I wouldnt give up fruits but i would watch dairy. Im on day 60 and im just not a dairy person to begin with so dont have it. I also do better without grains. Ill have some starchy veggies before eating grains. Thats for my body

This time I was taking it from that I have been under my LDW for so long, This is only the second time I have done it. Usually the cause is from a new food I have introduced.

Seeing this is not my first time with HCG, I made sure on my loading days to include all the foods I thought were a problem for me, this includes alcohol ( which doesn't make me gain any weight during this time around). I didn't do that on previous rounds. In fact my first time I didn't even do loading days as I didn't know.

Abs, I am 5'4" and large boned. I am happy being around 133. I do have a bit of belly to tone up and would like to hit 130. Also I am 51, when I was 17-20 I weighed 115lbs at my lowest and as I got into my later twenties I usually weighed around 125. I never really had a problem with losing weight until I hit 40's.

My daughter is small boned and as tall as me and weighs 100-105lbs

So makes a difference on your structure as to what you want.

I don't believe in fasting. Too me fasting means taking from stored fat, and I don't want to do that. What works more for me is like the FMD diet and making sure I have something, even a snack every few hours whether I am hungry or not. I need my metabolism to work fast, and that is the goal.

I like you have gained just from tasting foods I am preparing for others, so I try not to do that anymore. Your right it doesn't seem fair.
Jayk- that is a very interesting idea- that you eat the foods (during loading) that you know are troublesome for you in p3/P4. Have you noticed that your body responds and allows you to consume the foods again in p3//p4 without high gains? Did you notice any desensitation? Or are you just eating them because you know that you won't have them during maintenance?
I'm 5'2" and curvy in nature
    Round 1- starting weight 184.6
    LIW-159
    end of P4- 164
    Round 4- starting at 152
    LIW ( only 30 days)- 134.4
    P3- 138.4
    Round 5- starting 143
    LIW- 125.6

Abs thats exactly how I feel some days, just like we are scientists trying to get the right formula. Like Rose, I have never ate too much dairy, but yes to the fruits and I do a smoothie as well.

Kapluzie, yes I find I can eat the foods that used to bother me. But not all as I didn't get a chance to have them all when I was loading. Chinese food is one that puts a gain on me. I tried it yesterday cause the people I was with yesterday wanted it. I ate those foods purposely as I had read that somewhere.

I will let you know in a couple days if I can just correct it with clean eating, and lots of water.

This would be my fourth round since 2012 to try and keep the weight off. Two rounds this year since February. I think this time it worked best, or I am trying harder to make it work.

    I am day 52 into P4.

Dairy. Do you count half and half and cheese as your dairy? I don't do milk, but I do love cheese. Do you watch all dairy?

What is it about Chinese, do you think, that causes a gain? It has to be more than the sodium. Is it the MSG? Corn starch? I don't even eat the rice--just chicken & broccoli, spicy. What do you order?

I ate a small bowl of popcorn last night and got away with it. Positive reinforcement. Uh oh... I better keep my portions small in the future, too!

I have a bit of cheese once in awhile. I don't do milk either. And I use cream in my coffee. That is about it for me as well.

I am not sure what it is with Chinese. I basically do vegetables, some beef and shrimp. I have gotten away with Fish and chips but not chinese lol.

Even when they say no Msg most Chinese food use lots of corn starch and sugr for seasoning if its spicy hot then the hot sauce has tons f sodium...more than normal. Thats the only thing i can figure. BTW there is a Japaense place in a Florida mall I go to and I get their teriyaki beef chicken shrimp with lots of veggies but i tell yhem no sauce at all and i dont have trouble eating it. Do have to add red sauce soy sauce because it is plain and whike they have sodium it must be less than their teriyaki sauce

of the driest pancake mix ever! kept adding water and it didn't get an wetter just kept growing!
SO I looked up my coconut pancake recipe that I hadn't tried yet and it used less flour and more eggs! I still managed to make a cookie like pancake that tasted very good.
and I have a ton of mix left. so will fix it tomorrow and go from there.
While looking for recipe ideas, I came across this funny one that made me laugh out loud. I could just picture Tanya in her kitchen, adding water and mixing and adding water and mixing. I guess every flour does not equal another. Thanks for making me laugh!

I also looked at old entries and was wondering how your family was doing after the accident. Healing okay? The brain is such a tricky area of the body.

I made onion soup today, similar to the one I used to make in P2 with hamburger and onion, but this time with coconut oil and chicken broth. Yum!

I'm avoiding dairy, grains, and wine this week because I want to get back down to LDW. I've been high since my daughter's birthday last week (and the sin of licking my fingers!). Those of you who have been very careful testing foods and paying attention seem to be having the best success. I sure wish I hadn't planned my P3 during our family vacation... This round isn't a repeat of my bad (last) round, but it's not going as smoothly as my first. I'm starting to wonder about leaky gut. I plan to read that Paleo book somebody mentioned.

    Hope you're all okay.

Just checking in. Back within one pound of LDW. Phew! And that's after only one day of P3 eating and even messing up at dinner with a Cantina Bowl at Taco Bell for dinner (minus the rice, but it had beans and dairy).

I'm reading the cookbook that goes with the Paleo Approach book. Do you all agree with the Paleo stuff? It seems a bit extreme to me (but so did HCG at one time). I have a hard time believing we aren't supposed to ever eat grains and that eggs aren't good. I was impressed by how her health turned around (as did Dr. Terry Wahls's who wrote the Forward).

I dont nderstand your comment re eggs. paleo plan recommends eating all kinds of eggs. Grains on the other hand dont work for me so i avoid them and dont miss them at all. Each of us is different

    Hi Rose,
In the The Paleo Approach Cookbook it lists eggs, nuts, and dairy as being no-nos. I'm thinking it's because the author had MS and autoimmune problems that she eliminated anything that might be an allergen. I'm with you--I like eggs and they seem to agree with me. I think I'll have an easier time eliminating grains if I still have eggs to work with. I wonder if eggs got to be an allergen for some people because so many eggs are produced on factory farms and the chickens aren't natural and get no exercise in pens. Poor chickens. I used to keep chickens.

Thanks for your response up top about the Chinese food. It just doesn't seem right that they'd put sugar in their sauces... I never think of that. No wonder we gain...

Good job Abs. I think I will just stay with this kind of eating, but learn which foods bother me and not eat them again.

We have an Edo Japan, that I like to eat at. I have at that in P3 actually and just didn't have the rice and got away with that.
I haven't tried it this round yet though.

    Japanese food seems really healthy.
    So does Korean (although salty).
I wonder if Chinese food is the McDonalds of Asian cuisine?
