I am not a fan of any seed or nut I have nothing against them, I'll occasionally eat them in a dish or salad, but can live without.
Abs- is your friends dose correct?
And is she measuring or just eye baling?
I have trouble with tomatoes, and onions. .they both make me stall. I also don't have good losses with fish. I do better with chicken, veal and occasional lean beef.
I've been switching up my fruits. . But apples produce the best losses for me.
Is this the friend who won't come in the site?
I'm 5'2" and curvy in nature

I love ribeye, that is the steak I do when I have a steak day.

Abs, ask your friend what she eats every day and post it. I know there were some choices of the diet, that never worked for me.
I also never did the melba toast, and sometimes I didn't do the fruits either

As for me you can see my weight is up. Could be stress, water retention. Not sure. It should be my TOM, I have symptoms but no period. So that could be a factor as well.

I haven't done a steak day in awhile, so might try that. But with work I am hungry at lunch sometimes so it makes it hard.

So strange I did well for almost two months in P4, then boom.

Glad the rest of you are doing well and maintaining.

    Hello All,
Just an update about me- I'm still on P2-- I've got about 2 1/2 weeks left to my 40 day round. I'm down over 16 lbs so far. My body is showing the loss in P2 this time. Usually, I have to wait until P3 to see the difference... so that's some positive change.
In a couple of weeks, I'll be going away with the hubs to celebrate our 15th anniversary- just a local trip for 2 nights/3days. but when we get home, we have my 30th High School reunion to go to and then a Grand Ball. I was hoping to do a Planned Interruption. I have never done one of these before, so I'm a bit unnerved by it.
This weekend has surely been a test for me. Last night, my 8th grader had a World Series/mischief night Party.. I was good with all the snacks, candy, chips, donuts and drinks-- but when the pizza came, and I smelled and saw the gooey cheese- I thought I was gonna collapse. I wanted it so bad. I asked myself, how many days it would set me back to just indulge with the cheese-- and realized it just wasn't worth it. I promised myself I would order a gooey pie in P4. I was rewarded this morning with a swoosh of - 1.6 lbs... a real treat for me this late in the phase. So glad that I didn't cheat.
Today is my 6th graders Pre Trick or Treating Halloween Party... so hopefully I won't be as tempted again today.
With my losses- I decided to try on a pair of my size 6 jeans-- and they fit! Skin tight- but they fit... and not much of a muffin top-- really- not much at all. So thrilled!

I checked the calendar over and over... and I realized that I might be setting myself up for some difficulties.... what do you all think?

    As far as my interruption:
I was planning on stopping my injections on 11/10-- and then resuming on 11/16... if I do that, and continue to the end of my 40 day round- with the appropriate skip days, then I will be on P3 the day after Thanksgiving and starting my next round in the middle of January.
Here is another scenario-- I can do the planned interruption and after resuming I won't use the skip days for almost 2 weeks, so that I will be on P3 on thanksgiving day and again starting my next round in the middle of January.
    OR
Just stop my round right before I go away-- that means no planned interruption... just make my round a 30 day round instead of 40... Then I would be in P3 for Thanksgiving and I could potentially start another round around New Years...
A load for New Years sounds nice...

    Any opinions?

I like a 30 day round, then P3 for Thanksgiving and P4 for Christmas and start loading n New Years. Sounds like perfect timing. I personally think 40 day rounds are too hard on the body. I did two before and would rather do 30 days at a time

I didn't weight this morning after a late night Halloween. But will weigh in tomorrow.

I also ordered the THM book, and should get it in a couple days. Will read up on that. I am thinking of trying it or the cycling of hcg. Just looking at easier alternatives right now with my schedule.

Funny how I can follow hcg with no issues even if I am busy. Just fits my lifestyle I guess, or I adhere to it better.

I really think right now the hormones(perimenopause) are my issue, and heard taking SAM-e could help with that.

I am tired tonight with the time change lol. It's early but I am tired.

Jayk, which version of THM did you buy? At Barnes & Nobles I saw it's two books are 2: diet and cookbook. I'm leaning towards their all-in-one original. Maybe I can find it used on Amazon. And what do you mean "cycling of hcg?" And I feel for you about the perimenopause.

Kapluzie, I'm sorry I assumed you were on your last round. Probably the low weight and size 6 jenas. Good for you, going for broke!

    Good Day All,

Abs- I squeezed myself into those jeans... I'm not really a size 6-- more like an 8 comfortably... but I thought it would be fun to try them on... I couldn't wear them for any extended period of time, that's for sure.. I still have a round to do... I am teetering on a normal/overweight bmi-- I am at the high end of my weight range for normal-- if I gain a whole pound-- I'm in the overweight class... so, yep-- I would like to do another round to get into the middle range of average size. If I do another round, and lose up to 20 lbs- then I will look like the slimmer pictures in my profile album.. that is what I am striving for.

I am waiting on the THM from my library-- I was able to put it on hold-- they just started to carry it in the system, and it has already been checked out.. I'm next on the list. If it is something that I think that I can incorporate in my lifestyle long term, then I would buy my own copy.

Jayk-- with the cycling-- are you planning on doing hhcg? I'm not sure, but I think most of the people that have ventured into cycling, might be doing hhcg-- to avoid the immunity issues.. I was always intrigued with the idea of cycling.. but have been afraid to try it with the RX-- for the immunity issue... I wouldn't want to build up immunity and then not be able to use the hcg as a tool.

AFM-- I'm up .2 today-- the only reason that I could think of is that I had a "diet ice tea" yesterday at a Halloween Party. There was no sugar, no calories but had 1 carb... I guess it didn't agree with me and the scale... lesson learned.

those artificial sweeteners can sometimes be a bug-a-boo. But .2 wouldn't require my doctor to lecture me. Anything .4 or over was a red flag that I was doing something wrong.

All those good questions you asked about my friend--I'll have to ask her. I just hope she doesn't get discouraged. I've encouraged her to come here, but I don't know if she will. I've found the supportive voices here more valuable than my doctor's very expensive support/accountability.

AFM, I caved last night and had some of my son's candy (he was offering) as well as popcorn my husband suggested and a tiny bit of cherry pie at my daughter's work party. I was so strong on Halloween, even making and eating cocoa crack... So, today's a modified steak day (chicken) and I'm avoiding sitting with my children right now at the kitchen table because they're eating caramel apples and I'm very visual...

Do you ever feel like our culture conspires to make us fat? More likely it's the curse of affluence. Most often I can resist without feeling sorry for myself...but once in a while I give in to "self-pity parties."

Abs-- YES, I feel like our society/culture conspires to make us fat.. All the commercials on tv, magazine pictures brushed over with celebs going to parties and out to dinner.. clean and organic foods costing more money than junk.. Yes, I certainly do.
But I don't believe that any of us should have to go through life without any cheats. Clearly, we can't eat like that on a regular basis.. but we have to be able to enjoy life too. Not to say that we have to eat poorly to enjoy life, but sometimes an occasion comes around that evolves around poor eating/drinking.. and we are human and want to be part of the festivities. the trick is to know not to continue like that everyday-- which happens to be my problem.. hence doing more rounds... but I'm trying not to be so hard on myself. and allowing myself some "cheating times" in life to offset the times that I abstain. Hopefully, it will work out for me better in this round.

I'm not worried about the .2... it's just a nuisance.. I'm looking forward to my PI-- and I will make my final decision after the PI is over. If I gain too much, I will return to P2 to drop it again.. if I can maintain within reason... then I will probably stop and just stay in P3.
Today I went shopping for a formal ball gown.. I found a beautiful black gown with a sequenced back.. I needed a size 8, which is perfectly fine with me. Some of the gowns that I tried on were size 10. but I felt very sophisticated in the gown... the test will be the hubs viewing it tonight.

Rose, I saw my sister Rose in Michigan a week ago and we had such fun with 3 other siblings!

My doctor told me this and I thought you'd all be interested: "You should not need many steak days. You have to identify what causes your gain and eliminate that factor. After 4 months simply “being careful” for one day will have the same effect as a steak day."

How about that! I misunderstood steak days. All this time I thought they were required to get me back down. I still think occasional fasting is healthy for us, but apparently I am overdoing it. The story of my life. It's so good to be talking to others than going it alone.

I think I know what my gaining "factors" are: sugar, wine (more than one glass), bread, popcorn... Now, to eliminate them...
