I didn't have any loss this morning, but I expected none. Yesterday I had to attend a function from 1-5. Left home a 9:30, arrived there at 11 or so and had to set up etc. I never even ate until 6pm and had a caesar salad with chicken.

Wasn't much I could do. I could have chose a regular salad but thought what the heck lol.

    On track again today.

Thanks Rose-- appreciate your advice. I agree with what you said. I need to be more diligent in knowing what I am consuming outside my home. My weight loss wasn't actually as high as I thought.. I was using my lowest weight.. not the LIW. Either way, I dropped 1 lb and now today I am the same after attending the Grand Ball. I am not going to return to P2. I am going to stick it out in P3... and just try to maintain from here on out. If I happen to drop closer to LIW- awesome, but as long as I can stay where I am, I'll be happy. Today marked 1 week (from starting the PI)-- so I figured 2 more weeks of P3 and just maybe I could be stable at my present weight. Keeping my fingers crossed and my eyes open to ALL ingredients.

Great idea!!! For some reason I thought you were in the middle of P2 when you did the PI But P3 is a good place to be especially going into the holidays.

I was able to complete 30 injections before starting the PI. I was originally on the 40 day plan.. but I remember reading how others stopped at 30 and were successful in maintaining. I've never done a round shorter than 40 injections.. so this will be a first for me. I am a bit higher than I intended ( as I would have lost a few more pounds if I finished the 40 day round).. but that's ok. Maintaining is what is important to me now.

I usually do a 30 day round except for my first two rounds and it seems to work well. I just lost track of your days....too much traveling for me to recall. Lol! I think you will maintain well!! that i s all of our goal. We want to lose but its also nice to be able to feel satisfied and in control of our eating.
BTW i did gain a lb the other day and it is still here...didnt drop down. But im under goal so wont complain but because im eating the same each day i am puzzled. Maybe the problem is i need to eat some beef just to change up things. Stuck wi a microwave so have had hot wings three days in a row.

    Red face

    Hi gals,

A friend is upset about not losing more than 20# in 40 days on HCG. How much did you lose on average during your rounds?

Kapluzie, it sounds wise to stick with P3 through Thanksgiving. I liked Rose's seltzer water and lime suggestion--I might have to try that. And I agree with her--don't panic. Think positively. You can do this. I'm glad you had fun. How was the dance? Did you feel pretty? It sure seems like there is no perfect time to start P3. Every time I've tried to do it right, I've either been on vacation or somebody died and I wasn't able to focus.

AFM, I'm on my way back down (hurray!) and am only 3 pounds above LDW. By the weekend I hope to be within 2 lbs. TOM really makes me gain (water weight and chocolate over-indulgence). I got a compliment from my neighbor on Sunday that I looked skinny in my jeans. I'm still getting compliments 5 months after HCG. We must celebrate the little things.

Do any of you drink alcohol? I'm thinking I've got to scale my consumption way down. We buy 1-2 bottles of red wine per week. If I gave up those empty calories I probably wouldn't struggle so. I've rationalized that 1 glass per day was healthy. 1 glass a month would be wiser if I want to stay slim.

Good to hear from you all! Thanks for being there and modeling how to navigate these tricky waters.

Abs your friends loss of 20 lbs in 40 days is right on the mark for average loss for women in a round. If some have a lot to lose they might lose faster. I have done many rounds and almost always lost half lb average and then sometimes a cpl pounds off in P3 or P4 they should be happy.

Abs- I responded a day or so ago but somehow I couldn't post it, and then I got booted off the forum/site and couldn't get back on for at least an hour. I've been busy since then.
How much did your friend lose? Did she reach a loss of 20 lbs? Some of us may have additional weight to lose, but it's unrealistic to expect to lose over 20 lbs in several weeks time. We are so spoiled when we see the first week of P2 losses that we just don't want it to slow down- but it does and has to. It is a process, and we all have to come to terms of learning how to eat. I've read negative comments about this diet- how it doesn't teach a long term plan- but I think it does. If one is truly interested in keeping their losses, they have to adjust the way they eat.. or the weight will just return.
None of us WANTS to have to watch what we eat every day-- but it's a way of life that we must adhere to if we want to be slender.
It can take some of us (me) a bit longer to come to terms with that last sentence.

I'm glad that you are enjoying life and know how to recover.

AFM-- when I went away, I went way above my LIW-- too much to do a steak day. But I accepted it and moved on. My liw was 134.4 and I went as high as 140-- but now I am 138.6. I am just concentrating on not gaining anymore. I just want to stabilize. So far, all is good. Yesterday, I made an fmd meal--- cabbage, mushrooms, green pepper, onions sautéed in olive oil with garlic, sea salt and pepper. Then I added in the ground beef--- it was a huge hit in my house.. 4 out of 5 loved it!
I lost .6 this morning... and was very happy! To up my calories I've been eating cashew butter. I'm always so nervous that I am eating too much-- but so far so good.
Work is busy-- CRAZY stuff happening!! Today we had a LOCK DOWN! It wasn't a drill. I had to keep 23 kindergardeners in a closet for over 40 minutes. Do you know how hard it was to keep them quiet?! But we survived! Apparently 2 men entered the school unannounced. We are not quite sure how that happened, as all the doors are electronically locked and have cameras and intercoms. But somehow they got in. Police came and apprehended the men. It was scary to say the least. I was so proud of the kids-- they did a great job!
My get away was a load of fun! We had the best time. And the Grand Ball-- oh my! the Hall had a ceiling that was 4 stories high. Each floor up had balconies overlooking the stage and dance floor ( 2 floors worth). There was a 14 piece band that was fantastic. There were well over 500 people. Wearing designer gowns/ tuxes. The food was phenomenal. I had lamb chops, fresh carved turkey and steak at the cocktail hour. And for dinner I had a steak. I stuck to mostly proteins, except that I did indulge in a petite desert. But I was really lucky not to have a gain the next day. G-d was certainly looking out for me!!! The guest of Honor was the ceo of Ethan Allen.. Farooq something... now I don't remember his last name. But the "unofficial" star of the night was a man named Mr. Greenberg-- he donated ... ready?!..... 25 million dollars!!!
While we were away, our dryer broke-- so I had to stay home Monday and wait for the delivery-- can't live without a dryer!
    The week was eventful.

That Grand Ball sounds grand! Thanks for the details! I would've enjoyed the lamb chops and seeing all the gowns and those windows.

You said, "None of us WANTS to have to watch what we eat every day-- but it's a way of life that we must adhere to if we want to be slender." 100% agree.

When I step on the scale every single solitary morning, it's not like I want to, but I keep reminding myself, it's feedback so I can plan accordingly. Isn't it just great to be surprised by a lower number? Yesterday, after more than a week of being much higher, my weight was 156.4. I had seen 160 this weekend. Water weight is something else...

Thanks, Rose, for the feedback on average losses. I recommended this diet to her, so I take her disappointment personally. I think she's comparing herself to me, and that's not fair because I'm much taller than she is and I also drank a GALLON of water per day, which might have flushed out a little more fat than her amount. She refused to drink a gallon, and it does look strange as I type it to think that I ever did drink that much. Who knows what is best? That is just my doctor's idea.

Kap.. good job on keeping the kids quiet. That is scary what can happen in schools.

My very first time with hcg I did lose 34lbs but rounds since then were less. I think 20+lbs is very good loss.

Abs... We had Thanksgiving last month in Canada, so I am good. I will be in P4 for Christmas, so that should be fine. I am doing the minimum of P2 so it should work out fine.

"None of us WANTS to have to watch what we eat every day-- but it's a way of life that we must adhere to if we want to be slender." I have to totally agree.
I make myself get on that scale every day, no matter what it says.

This week I forgot my lunch two days in a row, and ate two hardboiled eggs and celery the one day, and fake crab meat and celery the next day. But yesterday was all good. I have another week or so to go on P2, so have upped my protein a bit seeing I am so close.

I duplicated my menu from Wed, but I added an avocado-- I was up .4 this morning.. I think avocados are out for now. I looked back at my P3 log and saw that last P3 I consumed a lot of avocado- I have slight gains almost everyday that I had them.. Back then I couldn't figure it out, cause it was being suggested that it wasn't the avocado-- well folks, I'm listening to my body and taking out the avocado. Hopefully tomorrow will be a lower number on the scale.. we shall see.
On a better note- My library called, and I went and checked out THM-- just in time to plan for P4.. but I have to admit, I am kinda tired of a structured plan-- when I have to eat, what ingredients on what day-- ugh... but I will read and absorb as much info as I can.. and see if it can work.
