Hi Abs... Happy Easter to you and everyone else as well

We had a touch of snow, but gone now. The moisture is needed anyway. Warming up again.

Hope you all have a great holiday. My husband fixed lasagna to take my bil's house for dinner after church. He will also be fixing some Haitian dishes plus i will make a salad. My weight crept up to the higher part f my new range... Mostly in the 135s last couple of weeks before i was 133-134 so just keeping aware. Even thoug im under LIW ive been closer to 135 for 6 months and occasional weeks in the 133s All in all i think ive been stressed and not eating enough veggies i believe. I also need to change up some food eating tilapia last couple of weeks.

Lent is over and I'm actually up a lot due to caving multiple times in the last two weeks or so.

    Contributing factors were:
    - sugar (during Lent so it was the sinful kind!)
    - gluten
    - excess calories & refined carbs
    - not enough water
    - not enough vegetables
    - eating late at night
    - not moving enough
    - glasses of wine

As far as I can tell, I've implemented Trim Healthy Mama in an poor, undisciplined manner and have really increased my carb intake, which naturally makes me crave more carbs (of any sort).

What's shocking is how fast weight came on. It's not like I binged excessively since we returned from Michigan. I was up and then got down by that Thursday, but have now since regained that weight and more! It's a little scary. This is the first time this round it's happened and it has me spooked. If I continue, all the weight I lost will return.

Despite knowing that my weight is up, today I ate some of my friend's lamb-shaped cake she brought for dinner because it was Easter. I also had potato casserole with ham. And I also ate Godiva chocolate because my husband bought it for me. I can only imagine what the scale will say tomorrow... I am embarrassed, disappointed, and ashamed that I couldn't finish the last two weeks of Lent as strong as the beginning (which was very P2-ish). The reason I'm spilling my guts is so you can all learn from my mistakes. And confession is good for the soul.

Thanks for listening. Tomorrow I will eat clean. I am telling you because I need the accountability. Keep up the good work gals! Don't try to ride the sugar dragon because it'll bite you big time. How I regret messing around with refined carbs...

    Abs-
Don't be too hard on yourself. You had good intentions. The roads we choose may not always be the quickest way to our goals, but we strive to learn on our journeys. And it sounds as if you've learned a lot.
Sticking with p3 style eating, I'm sure you'll return to your comfortable numbers.
Sending you happy and strong thoughts.
Confess away- I'm here for ya!

As for me- holding steady. It's a bit shocking, as I've been eating out a lot. But I have been careful about my selections. Trying to keep the fats and sugars apart is not always an easy task.

Good job, Kapluzie, keeping steady. That is so great! I magically lost 3 lbs. in one day. I think the salt in ham is substantial. Also, I had not been sleeping well. I've heard lack of sleep affects weight and appetite.

Anyway, I'm feeling a little more optimistic today about returning to normal. Rose, you also give me hope that maintenance is possible. I definitely had that off and on this round and definitely after my first round. Blood sugar is key for me.

I worked outside a lot today and used 8000 steps (wore my stepper). I hope to sleep better than I have been.

Just checking into P4 group from San Antonio. Doing small fundraiser studio sale and got nice rate at Marriott Love seeing the peacocks. Forgot to bring scale so just eating best can and should be fine. They have fridge so we bought chicken caesar salads, baby carrots and strawberries for the room. Also have my Pure Protein bars for plenty of protein. Have a great week wherever you are.

    Hey all

Abs I also am sending you happy and strong thoughts as well and thanks for confessing. I think it does make us more accountable as well.

Well I still haven't seen TOM yet, but forget when the last time was. I now am having hot flashes or sweats during the day as well. This is getting quite ridiculous lol. Been this way for the last two weeks and I find it's draining me.

This past week I started to drink Konbucha Ginger when I am feeling drained or tired. I really like it, but they aren't cheap.

Kapluzie I am glad to hear you are holding stable. Good JOb That's a great feeling.

Hope you all have a great weekend

Rose I love the peacocks. My mom's friend used to raise them and I would go visit at her house to see them. I love Caesar Salad, could eat it all the time lol and baby carrots.

Well I got my lawn mulched and raked up this weekend. I was so tired last night from that and the continual sweating lol. I don't really want to take hormones to fix this. I just hope it soon passes.

Jayk, isn't midlife funky? Great in some ways and a pain in others. I use progesterone cream to control my hot flashes. My doc says it keeps my estrogen from going too high. I rarely flash now...

My family likes Kombucha, but I drink just a little a day. It is expensive, but you've gotta' love the probiotics. I drink a local brand called Karma Kombucha and we like the berry and pineapple flavors.

Caesar salad is my favorite, too, without the croutons...of course.

Weight was still up because of TOM, which I wasn't expecting. My timing is off with that a lot more now. I should come down at least 4 lbs. or so (hopefully) soon.

Rose, what do you do when your weight is up (when you bring your scale)? I'm still weighing daily, but not doing any steak days anymore. I keep trying to use my scale as feedback for what I did yesterday, but I'm finding myself less receptive to the results.

Abs, i usually do bring my scale and my weight seems to vary within 2 to 3 lbs. ive never done a steak day. I usually go with more of a ketogenic type diet or like a P3 with veggies high protein and cut to only one fruit if im trying to go to my lower weight. Sometimes i do have a big steak but not only one meal a day. I might eat bacon breakfast and a protein bar. Probably eat the steak late afternoon with veggies like onions green pepper stir fry and nothing else for the day.
Today i ate kind of a no-no lunch in that i dont usually eat packaged foods but i did. I eat two packages of peanut butter crackers and two small boxes dried cranberries for lunch and a protein bar. Tomorrow i will eat clean and stay away from crackers. They dont fill me up but grabbed them for a quick fix. Lol!

Thanks, Rose. Today was another good THM day for me, so I'm expecting good results tomorrow. I'm finding that one E meal for breakfast or lunch makes me happiest. I discovered a 0% fat FAGE + banana + strawberry smoothie was a terrific meal for lunch today. Just a few drops of stevia made it sweet and a treat.

I made cocoa crack for the first time in a while and put peanuts in it. It was actually yummy. I had forgotten because I have been sugared up lately. AND, I resisted the Rice Krispie Treats my daughter made right next to me while I was making healthy chicken soup. We must celebrate the small
