My family likes Kombucha, but I drink just a little a day. It is expensive, but you've gotta' love the probiotics. I drink a local brand called Karma Kombucha and we like the berry and pineapple flavors.

Caesar salad is my favorite, too, without the croutons...of course.

Weight was still up because of TOM, which I wasn't expecting. My timing is off with that a lot more now. I should come down at least 4 lbs. or so (hopefully) soon.

Rose, what do you do when your weight is up (when you bring your scale)? I'm still weighing daily, but not doing any steak days anymore. I keep trying to use my scale as feedback for what I did yesterday, but I'm finding myself less receptive to the results.
Yes it sure is funky lol. So true about that. When I go for my next check up, I will have to tell my Doctor and see what he thinks. He is away on Holidays right now. I have really only had the hot flashes the last month or so.

I want to try and make my own croutons, from the THM book one day. I have had gluten free ones, but didn't really care for them. They were too large. I like the smaller ones in my salad.

I was thinking of doing a steak day soon... and maybe I will make some cocoa crack and have as well. I got that idea from Leez.. Never tried it with peanuts. Bet that was good.

Now that its getting warmer out, and I was busy all weekend with yard work, I am finally drinking more water again. When I follow the diet, I can do water so easy. But off hcg and I start to subside on it.

Maybe once the peri-menopause is over, we will finally settle down with hormones etc. I would love to be like Rose and just be able to drop the weight back down in a few days

Jayk. Just remember i did 5 rounds and it wasnt till this 5th round when i changed my approach to P4 and avoid most grains and dairy...plus staying connected to the hcg group... Plus weighing most days and recording all have been a big help i think... Thankfully when i occasionally stray i get back to clean eating for 3 or 4 days. Mothers Day will be a year since starting round 5 and the beginning f July was the start of my P4 Im hoping to still be where i am now by then. That will be a great milestone for me. Even if i dont have much to post i still read the posts .

Rose and Jayk, thanks for sharing that all hasn't gone smoothly always. You'd be surprised how much that encourages me! I was 165 this morning. At 5' 9", supposedly that is an okay weight. However, it is 7 lbs. above LDW and 5 lbs. above my highest okay weight. I've got a ways to go, but think I can get back down without doing another round. I don't want to do any more rounds for small amounts for several reasons, mostly because of the cost, effort, and hair loss--I lose a lot of hair, which freaks me out. Did either of you? I'm feeling optimistic about THM meal planning. Rose, when did you start doing that? What were you doing wrong before?

    Hi!
Sorry I haven't been around. I'm fairly stable. When I indulge, I usually go up 3 lbs, but then eat clean, and go back down in 3-4 days. I've hit my stride.
I get the thinning hair. . I had that about 6 months ago, and it hasn't gotten better. .but not worse either.
I would just recommend eating p3 style, if you can. . You'll drop the excess in no time.
I'm 5'2" and curvy in nature
    Round 1- starting weight 184.6
    LIW-159
    end of P4- 164
    Round 4- starting at 152
    LIW ( only 30 days)- 134.4
    P3- 138.4
    Round 5- starting 143
    LIW- 125.6

The road may be long and riddled with many detours but I will persevere.

What i was doing wrong before was not weighing every day or often enough to stay on top of it. Also now i plan ahead so i dnt allw myself to go hungry. I keep almind walnut packs or pure protein bars or a T of peanut butter to quiet my hunger before its time to eat or if it has been too long between meals. I still drink my water What i did wrong in the past was probably not enough good calories and gradually started adding junk packaged foods like cheese and crackers, potato chips etc. because im more satisfied i dont crave that junk often.

Hey Rose.. I think I need to plan more. That is the one thing I haven't really been doing. I need to prepare some healthy snacks to have along in between meals.

And also need to make sure I don't snack in the evening. I tend to stay up late, and that is what brings it on. I will have to crack down on that issue.

Abs... I never had an issue with loss of hair. I have pretty thick hair though, so maybe didn't notice. I wish you luck on dropping the excess lbs. I am sure you can do it

Well this week, I will eat clean and drink my water and see what happens by end of week.

Being prepared with some kind of a plan is really key. I was away most of last month. My plan was to buy a couple of things I know are safe for me (Ezekiel bread, ricotta cheese, greek yogurt, natural peanut butter) and bring along the protein bar that works for me to fill in any snacks or meals that were off plan. When I ate out, I ordered steamed or grilled items and avoided any sauces. I also didn't bother with sweeteners, and found that I was fine using fruit or the occasional bit of honey/maple syrup to sweeten things. Following through on that, I returned at a lower weight than I was before the trip started.

In fact that plan was so successful, that I'm going to do some of that same strategy in my every-day eating now.

Like Rose, I find that having a protein bar (or some basic portable snack) that works for you is key. There are times when good choices are not available. If you have something you enjoy on hand, its much easier to avoid making a bad choice.

Hello gals. I'm curious how Jayk's week went. Actually, I would like to know how all of you are doing.

I had a very good week eating P3ish and a pretty good weekend. Unfortunately, I foolishly indulged in noodles and cake at a party Friday night, which affected my plumbing for two days afterward. I've got to watch the gluten and refined carbs.

Hope you all are doing well. Take care.

Great tips Leez and glad you to hear you have found a way that works for you.

Hey Abs.... my week went pretty good I think. I haven't weighed in yet, but I am doing another week here to see if I can get down to where I want. I am just going by how my clothes fit so far.

I hit a snag on Saturday as we had company, and went out for pizza. I haven't ate that in ages. But yesterday I ate good again plus started some more exercises with my leg magic and some ab workouts. I feel that today lol.

I still need to find a good protein bar that I like and works for me. I want to try the one Leez uses, but they don't sell it locally. That way I have my snack with me in the day.

    Hi gals,

I've been out of commission all week long. Last weekend, I went a little crazy with yard work and really strained my back. Then, on Monday, I decided I just had to use the rototiller before the rain came, and I really hurt it. I was limping worse than an old lady Tuesday and Wednesday. The chiropractor told me I basically sprained my back and it's going to take a while to heal. I've been popping Ibuprofen every 6 hours for days now. My stepper registered only about 2000 steps Wednesday, which shows how inactive I've been. I usually shoot for 8-10,000.

On top of that, TOM arrived, so all those crazy cravings I've been fighting all week had justification...

All in all, my weight stayed about the same despite my lack of movement all week. It pays to have good habits established and past willpower. I've been feeling sorry for myself and really wanted comfort foods, but resisted most of my cravings. I did, however, have granola with Cheerios one morning. And I ate 3 Trader Joe's dark chocolate mini peanut butter cups yesterday--not too bad with TOM cravings firing.

With perimenopause, I never know when TOM is coming, so sometimes these chocolate cravings catch me off guard.

How do you gals deal with unwanted cravings? How do you resist temptations?

My weight is up, but like Leez, isn't still going up, which gives me hope.
