Seems like ages since I've checked in so thought I'd get up to date. You all seem to be able to maintain or adjust depending on your eating plan so that's a good thing. Because we are still out of town in OKlahoma my eating has been travel related. Mostly eating bacon fajita beef chicken Caesar salads dried cranberries almond/walnut mix fruits plus my Pure Protein chocolate deluxe bars. Still weighing most days and scale runs between 132.8 to 135.6. Sometimes not even sure why it's up or down but in s good range so can't complain. Today is cold and rainy outside at art show in Edmond OK. Saturday and Sunday look like better weather.

Keep on dear hcg P4 friends. We need to stay accountable

Oh my Abs.... that is awful. I hate to say the pain hurts more now that we are getting older. I hate that I can't do things like I used to, as I try to do everything at once lol. I still never learn. I wish you a successful recovery.

My legs have been hurting the last couple weeks but I plunge on. I am hoping with more walking , they will quit aching so much. This is the first time in years, I have now gone almost four months without TOM. I am so hoping this continues all year and get on with things. I truly feel it is not helping with trying to stabilize my weight. I still get TOM symptoms, but the sweats have ceased for now, Thank God

If I can stay busy, and find something to do, that helps me with cravings. But if for some reason , if I am stuck in the house and evenings I find the worst, then I give into it and have a snack.
With the nicer weather here now, I am outside more after work, and then tired at night so just go to bed. But I still have around 7lbs I want to lose again and am just kinda stuck. Hoping it will come off
Been busy also getting my daughter ready for college in the fall. It seems far enough away, but so many things to get prepared and hope it all works out.

Glad to hear all is good with you Rose, and hope your show went well.

    Jayk,
I've found the Rise protein bars at Natural Grocers and The Vitamin Shoppe. Perhaps you have one of those nearby?

Still hanging in, not losing, not gaining---but I've had 3 weeks away and a week of celebrating while my sister was here, and I'm just a little under where I started out with all of that traveling and such. So I'm happy with that.

Maybe I'll eventually lose some as I go, but I'm not stressing about it. I'm just happy to be able to eat yummy stuff and not be gaining.

I've been enjoying an oven-roasted sweet potato for breakfast occasionally. Its a nice change-up from oatmeal or yogurt.

Just moving on and living life without food obsession is such a huge change for me.

Hi Leez, I will look for those places when I am in the city. If not looks like I will have to order online.

So happy to hear your doing well. You deserve that after all your hard work in getting to that point. Seeing its spring now, I hate that my belly has grown a bit lol.. So just trying to work it down a bit again. I get so bloated some days, more so when it should be TOM. Other than that I am doing okay and happy I am not way over LDW

So after four months I got TOM, nothing to heavy though. Very light. I guess I have to start the count over again from here. I hope not lol
    Still feeling very bloated.

Anyway saw this recipe in Woman's World yesterday, and now the THM sisters released it on Facebook. I am going to try this recipe this weekend and see how it goes

The Taco Soup is quite good actually. I was surprised at how much it makes. I had to use mostly fresh stuff, as in my area they don't have special blend, nor frozen Cauliflower.

I didn't even have a soup pot that big, so had to use my roaster lol.

Well I was still bloated up until today. I am still blaming hormones. Had a touch of spotting again. I just can't wait for all that to be over with
On a plus side, I haven't had sweats for some time now though.

Hope you all are doing well.

Still waiting to hear if my daughter can get residence at college, otherwise have to try and find her a place, or she would just have to drive everyday for an hour there and and hour home.

I just pray it all works out and goes smoothly..

I thought I might try that soup but make a greatly reduced quantity. I don't want to be eating it forever if I don't like it! But I would be mainly interested in it as an E meal... sounds like it would be good with rice and beans.

I'm suspicious about the okra. I generally hate okra in soups and gumbos, so not optimistic that that will change just because its blended up.

What is the idea about that? Is it like the cabbage soup craze where that's all you eat until you get to goal?

It may be a craze until you get your goal, so that is why I am trying it. Also trying because I know the benefits of Okra and hoping that will get me down that 7lbs that I want gone.
Page 132 of their Trim Healthy Mama Plan book explain it more.
In short, an inexpensive food that slashes high blood sugar and the ravages of Type 2 Diabetes, helps melt super-stubborn pounds and heals your gut

I am going to eat it all week, along with other foods of course. It says to have half a bowl with supper. I ate a full bowl today.
I didn't add any rice or beans, but do think that would be a good additive as well.
I will let you know how it goes after this week

Yeah just try a small reduced amount and see what you think.

Hello Leez and Jayk Just dropping in to say hello and post since im at home all month now. My weight has been whacky last week to ten days. It has been very stable most of the time but all of a sudden it started inching up still not sure what caused it but i know i was not eating much real food because we got busy.. Was just snacking on protein bars bacon almonds and cranberries. Whatever was handy i ate. I notice that my fingers have been swelling in the morning too Today back to 134.4 which was close to where was maintaining. I just decided for some reason maybe the sodium in the bacon i ate was a problem. tHe only thing i did eat differently was some dry roasted peanuts my husband bought recently and i had been eating them for a few days. Usually the bacon is not a problem but hated that my weight went up without eating any junk foods. Switched to eating more real fod last couple of days ncluding more veggies...green beans and salad... Some fajta beef and chicken as well as sweet potatoes. At first though it was my scale bcause i dropped it when i got back frm Oklahoma. But when changed my eating somewhat VOILA the scale works. Not really funny but even though im under LIw i want to stay here.

Leez im happy to see that yor weighht seems to be stabilizing or dropping. jAyK..i love okra so might try some soup

    Cool

    Hello Leez, Jayk, and Rose!

My daughter graduated from our homeschooling last Saturday, so I've been a bit preoccupied lately. But, you'd all be proud of me--my weight, although 7 lbs. above LDW, has not gone higher. I have an appointment with my doctor who introduced me to HCG next week, so that should be interesting. I am not going to play the guilty patient role--I have worked too hard to maintain! He only lets me email him once a month, which is not enough for accountability. You gals have been an invaluable source to me and I don't have to pay you anything! I'm not doing any more rounds. I'd rather live at 7 lbs. over ideal (I'm 167 at 5' 9") rather than go through the pain of yet another round (I've done 3). I'm sick of the hair loss and expense. The lower weights are too hard to maintain, so maybe the 160s are good for me. I still fit into most of my clothes and still feel attractive. Rose, you've maintained. Are you smack dab in the middle of where they say you should be for you height or are you near the high end? I'm wondering if, at my age, my weight should'n't be a little higher than in my youth... I was 145 when I married at 22. My chest is less boney in the 160s than it was in the 150s last summer.

    Your thoughts, everybody?

Jayk, maybe it's the age we're at (did you say you were 50?), but maintaining seems to be trickier. Rose is already in menopause. Maybe during the transition it's trickier to maintain? I'm having lighter and shorter TOMs than ever before. I considered going to a vein clinic because of pain in my varicosed legs during the first days of my cycle, but I haven't had that for a few months...so now I think I'll skip that expense. And fortunately, my husband says he doesn't care about those little veins.

Leez, I always look forward to reading what you have to say. Please keep reporting on what you're doing. You're great.

Rose, you continue to be a mentor to me. Please keep encouraging us with your weigh-ins and what you're learning.

I feel like I'm in a desert during a sand storm, trying to navigate my way with only your voices to go by. I really appreciate "talking" to you gals.

    Sincerely,
    AbsAgain

P.S. I liked how I looked in my size 10 jeans today, despite my rounder belly than last summer. Maybe being in the 160s in my 50s isn't the worst thing...Have you guys liked how you looked recently?

I find it helps me to look at pictures of myself to get that kind of perspective. When I do, I see a normal weight person. And that has been my exact goal--to be normal again. I don't look particularly thin, but I have a shape and my clothes look good on me. I remember first being aware of my new shape being normal and womanly (and not round and pudgy!) when I saw my shadow while I was out walking.

I think for someone that is 5'9", the 160's could be a comfortable weight. It really depends on how muscular you are and your frame. For instance, my sister and I are about the same height and close to the same weight now , but clothes fit her different because her frame is smaller than mine. A small top fits her, but I might need a medium because my shoulders are wider. I agree that as you get older, you look better at a higher weight than you did when you were younger.

Hi to all. Glad to see you maintaining Abs. I think that is more important than a specific weight. If you are comfortable at your current weight than your body is probably telling you something.
For me I'm 73 so way past menopause. Lol. My weight right now I'm comfortable with. Of course I also go by bmi and that is solidly in the normal weight. I'm definitely in the medium boned frame. When I was in my 20s of course I weighed much less but always had to work too hard to stay tiny and probably messed up my system. I have people now tell me I look tiny but I'm far from tiny. My husband doesn't want me thinner since he thinks as people age they look older if they lose too much.
