    Hey all,
Just thought I'd pop in for a spell. I'm doing great. Maintaining for over 12 weeks so far. Guess I hit my stride. I'm in p4- eating quinoa, sweet potatoes, and homemade breads/pasta. I hope everyone is having a great spring.

    Hi rose!
I know I've been neglectful about posting. But I've been attentive to myself and my family.
Work has been crazy! Kids schedule is over whelming. I'm on a tight schedule. Maybe that's why I'm stabilizing well. I've been preparing all weekly meals on sunday. . And I take and go. When I want something sweet, I've been having either extra fruit or dark chocolate covered almonds. When I make my meals, I've been trying to be mindful of carb, fat, protein ratio. My most difficult time is when friends get together for a meal or drink. But I find I need to just get back on schedule with my meals. So far it's working.
How are your shows going? Where are u now?

Hi Abs, Leez , Rose and Kapluzie

Glad to hear from all of you and that you are all maintaining so well. Well the soup was good, but I won't make such a big batch next time. I froze some of it as well.

Abs I turned 52 at the end of April, and I agree that if your not gaining and staying at the same weight, that is a good thing. It is you that has to be happy and sounds like you are. I do think that with perimenopause that it is hard to lose weight and maintain. I sure hope this is it finally for TOM to stay away lol.

Morning everyone. I started exercising the other day. I have always enjoyed walking, but decided its time to work out again. Doing mostly ab workouts, some pushups, situps and jumping jacks. Oh boy can i feel it today. A little sore. Now I just need to keep up with it

We had rain for a few days and cooler weather, but today the sun is shining and looks like it will be much warmer again.

Things are still slow here, but a little bit of work is starting to happen, so that is good.

Back from doctor's office. I had bloodwork done and should get some of my results by tomorrow, hopefully.
My doctor seemed happy with me, even though I'm more than 2 lbs. over LDW. He was happy that I'm healthy and my stats were good.

We head to Michigan on vacation this weekend, so I will be eating out often and drinking at wineries in Traverse City. I'll be thinking of Rose, knowing I can maintain while traveling. It's been a while since we went away on vacation.

BTW, my doctor had a lot to say about health care reform. He thinks Health Savings Accounts would motivate most Americans to eat healthier and exercise more, rather than government just taking care of everybody. It's always interesting to talk to a doctor. He's an MD who also delivered 2 of my 3 babies. He's in his late 60s and has had a family practice for 30 years. I'll be very sad when he retires.

    Did THM fuel cycle

So, I thought I'd post and give my review of the taco soup.
    http://www.trimhealthymama.com/main-...ain-taco-soup/

I did a fuel cycle last week (Basically the THM version of FMD, where you keep the same fuel source for 2 days at a time.) I decided to make the soup to use during the FP (lowfat &lowcarb) days. I really like it, and found it quite filling. I'll be making more. The okra disappears, and it is quite rich tasting for a low-fat soup. I tripled the spices though (except for the heat)...it seemed a little bland. Much better with the extra spice.

I didn't lose anything significant on the fuel cycle, but I think it makes you think a bit more carefully about how you put together your meals and portions, so from that standpoint, it was a good experience. Another positive step towards finding my particular maintenance balance, I think.

I'm enjoying wearing (and looking good!) in some clothing styles I never would have tried on at my high weights, and shopping in the regular size departments is still wondrous to me. Some days I wake up and can hardly believe I'm normal again. I had really given up hope that it could ever happen for me. I'm so grateful for HCG!

That's so great, Leez! I bet you look good! How fun for you! Enjoy your slimmer shape, especially in summer! Don't you feel younger? When the extra weight was on me, I felt my age. Not anymore.

My girlfriend who recently lost over 40 lbs. with HCG now looks fantastic and younger than I've ever known her. I'm so happy for her, especially since she's maintaining! She is staying away from ice cream for a year, she said. I think it's her downfall.

My blood draw numbers were all good except Vitamin D (low) and bilirubin (high), which my doctor said could be a mistake. I'll take that test again in 3 months. I've had false positives before. I might do a liver cleanse for that, just in case.

I'll check in after the holiday.

    Take care!

    Greetings,

I forgot to tell you, my meeting with my doctor went well. He didn't seem concerned with me being well above the 2-lb. limit from LDW, probably because I'm still within normal range for my height.

We went to Mackinaw Island for Memorial Day and biked all over the island. It was a terrific way to spend a day. I discovered I don't like fudge anymore--too sweet! I also discovered I don't like pasties (anybody know what those are?) but I do like chopped salads from Subway.

Hope you all are doing okay, maintaining.

Leez that is great news. I am so happy for you. I know I found the soup feeling as well, and even though I didn't lose any weight either, it was good.

Abs, glad to hear your meeting with the Doctor went well. And your weekend went well. I find certain foods I don't want any more either. I don't crave a fast food burger any more like I used to. I make my own on Sprouted Grain bun toasted. My daughter even loves those buns better.

We went to Heritage Park in Calgary last weekend. Walked all over. It's a historical village replicated. I loved riding on the old steam engine.

Take care and will check in later
