Kapluzie, it's so great to hear from you, especially about your maintenance and normal eating! That's huge! Isn't it delightful to indulge occasionally and not see a gain? What is it about Chinese that makes so many of us gain? Regarding your bikini-wearing: WOW! Hurrah! When was the last time you wore one of those? I tried on one this week just for grins but am happier in my tankini. I'm so happy for you, though, and your husband! :-)

I've been eating P3 lately and find it amazing how great I feel and how the weight is just dropping off. THM didn't work so well because of the crossover meals, which didn't work for me. Did I tell you all I've given up wine until I go away with my husband in August for our anniversary? I didn't realize (or didn't want to realize) that my increasing weight was tied to those regular glasses of wine. I now look at wine like it's birthday cake, a celebratory treat I can't have very often without ramifications. By eating P3, my productivity has risen because my energy is so high and blood sugar is steady. I've patched/spackled/sanded all the walls of our basement and am applying the primer, but I can't decide on a color for the basement. Any ideas?

Thunderstorm outside tonight. I love summer storms (when I'm inside).

    Stay in touch!

Great to hear from you both.
Kapluzie.... I haven't touched Chinese food in almost a year and don't miss it. I can do edo Japan just fine though.
Glad your doing good in P4 , and finding what your okay with

Abs.. that's great you found what works for you to lose. Once at your goal will you just be doing like P4 and introduce food slowly?
I would love to get my basement painted and floors redone. I am no good at painting. Floors I could do. My neighbor did hers this last spring but I will have to ask her the color name. I forgot it. It Looks great though.
I am currently maintaining fine so far this week. I realizeed I have to eat even if not hungry to keep my weight the same. So I do pack my cranberries and almond snack packs along with me. Plus a couple oranges per day.
Well off to take my daughter to the doctor. Her eye is swollen. Not sure if allergy or a bite. Yesterday she felt her eye twitching on her way home from work. Plus we are meeting with people today about apartment for rent for her. I have an appointment Monday as well for an apartment. Wish us luck

Thanks. She has an eye infection, but no scarring. So on antibiotics and will see the optometrist Wednesday.
We also found her a place to live. It's like a three plex. Her own washer and dryer in suite and utilities included. She moves in next Wednesday. So all set for college on September 7.
Quite a relief for me to have everything ready.

Hi Jayk, how old is your daughter? I have 2 daughters, 22 and 18, and they are both going to the local community college and living at home for the time being. It's a big deal to have your daughter move out--is this her first time living away or was she in a dorm before? So you live in Alberta, Canada. I've been to Montana but not to Alberta or Washington State.
How is your P3 going? How is your husband maintaining?

Kapluzie, how are you doing? Enjoying your summer with your boys? Enjoying your new bod and returned health?

I am 4 lbs. above right now and getting excited. I forgot how GREAT I feel when my blood sugar is stable and I don't crave carbs! Yesterday I went to the beach with a skinny friend and didn't feel self conscious. Isn't that a gift?

I wonder how Rose and Leez are doing? Hope they check in.

Just got back from Ann Arbor art show. Haven't had time to post. Very long hours and oppressive heat and low sales were disheartening. Got back late Tuesday night. My MIL had s mild heart attack so we got back snd went to hospital. She's 88 and was released yesterday. Kind of hectic at home. Last few days eating improperly so yesterday ate correct healthy foods. A little heavy on fruits. I stepped on scale. I'm at 138.2 which is about 3.4 lbs under LIW but 3 lbs over my previous desired weight. I will work on that next few weeks at mostly P3

Hi all, I've been chugging along on THE PLAN to see if I can identify some problem foods, and I have recently failed tests for oats and sweet potatos, which I had been eating fairly regularly. I'm hopeful that that has been a big part of why I have not be able to make any progress on THM.

So, I'm continuing on with THE PLAN, but its going very slowly, because it is seeming that it takes 3-4 friendly days for me to get back down from the weight gained on failed tests. Overall though, I'm not in a bad place--about 5 pounds over LIW. I'm just higher than I wish to be.

I went out to do some some shopping recently and put on a sun dress and some cute shoes and jewelery rather than just jumping into the car in whatever I wear around the house. It made me smile, because when I was over 200 pounds, I would have never even thought to do that. Its nice to feel good about yourself and want to dress up again.

It also reminded me of when I was a teenager and going shopping with my grandmother. We always dressed up to go shopping, and she always took me out to lunch. It made it an event. She loved to shop and I was always worn out and ready to stop before she was. What a great lady. I miss her so much.

Good to hear from you Leez. Have you ever eaten Yucca? My sister in law is here from Haiti and brought some delicious flatbread made with coconut and yucca. I looked it up and its very starchy but recommended on Paleo. Any experience? Sure tasted good

I've not tried yucca that I know of. I heard about some wraps made with cassava flour though that look like they would be good. I haven't tested any breads yet. I'm kind of anxious about testing bread again because if I fail, I will be going into major mourning.

I think Whole Foods has paleo wraps just made from coconut.

Rose, I hope your MIL recovers fully and you have more years with her. I miss my parents and inlaws.
Sorry to hear you didn't sell as much as you wanted. That must be quite frustrating with all the work that goes into producing your art, preparing for, and traveling to your shows. But remember who's company you're in...Rembrandt, Picasso, DaVinci, Monet...I'm sure they had dry spells. I hope you sell a lot at your next show and that you still enjoy producing your art. My husband just asked me to paint the Detroit Tiger's "D" on the corn-hole game he and my son built. It was such fun drawing and painting it!

Regarding your weight gain, Rose, it sounds like you have a good plan in place to return to your original weight. P3 eating is exactly what's helping me this summer to drop unwanted weight. Keep us posted on how you're doing with your reset, okay?

Leez, five pounds above LDW is great. And I loved your story about getting dressed up to go shopping. What a nice memory and a great idea. Thanks for sharing that. I bet you looked great. Isn't shopping more fun now that clothes look good on us?

I leave in 5 days for my anniversary away with my husband. We've been married 28 years and it will be our first time going away for 4 days and 3 nights to another state (MI). I've been looking forward to this trip for 2 months. It's amazing how easy it is to eat P3 when you adhere to it 100% and have good motivation. I bought a strapless black dress along with new heels. Tomorrow I get a haircut. Whatever the scale says by Friday is fine because I've given it my best effort and like how my waist is getting small again. Numbers on the scale don't matter as much as the image in my head.

My daughter is 20. She had moved out last spring for about 4 months. Then came back home. So I did get used to her gone, but was happy to have her home again. I am glad she is only an hour away, and excited for her. She has a nice suite, and good neighbors.

Montana is a lot like Alberta. I have been to Washington State a few times. To Seattle and Spokane.

My P3 is going well so far. This weekend will be 3 weeks. I haven't been getting enough sleep this past week. I did go up two lbs, but not over so will try to get more sleep tonight. My husband is doing okay, even though he doesn't follow the diet properly. I am happy he has lost some weight.

That's awesome your losing following P3 style of eating. I hope you and hubby have a wonderful anniversary and trip. Enjoy wearing your heels and black dress and Have fun!!!

Rose, sorry to hear about your MIL, and hope she will be okay. And I know it's tough when a show doesn't go well either. Hopefully your next show will make up for that

Good to hear from you Leez. I hope this time around on the Plan, you figure things out. It is a struggle, but your doing well and if you look & feel great.. that is what matters.

Kapluzie... I hope your enjoying your summer.

    Hello everybody,
My anniversary getaway was more fun because I felt comfortable again in my own skin. However, I ate and drank things I haven't in a long time and in 4 days I put back on 3 lbs. Didn't bring my scale. I expect, however, to return to my "before" weight once again by returning to my P3 eating. It's amazing to me how after 4 days of consuming too many carbs my gums are tender and my joints ache again. Only 4 days off plan and the old aches and pains are back.

Have any of you experienced such quick repercussions?
