What is seeming to be working for me now is having a full breakfast, and then cutting the fuel sources back some in the later meals. That way I'm not having to spend the day catching up to my morning hunger.

I like adding dried cranberries to things too. I've had some good success with drying my own cranberries in the food dehydrator. That way , I can add my own sweetener and the berries are sugar-free. I use this method here if you are interested: http://www.cranberries.org/cranberri...pes_dried.html (I also add a tsp or two of oil when adding the sugar substitute. This makes a huge difference in the finished product.)

The main thing is make sure every berry has popped, or they won't dry out. You can get the rogue ones with a toothpick.

I hope your "get back on track" plan works for you.
Hi Leez! Good to knw about drying my own cranberries . Just recall when i startd losing after P3 i was doing very large high fat meals at breakfast, medium lunch later and very small meal for dinner. I startd losing about a lb a mo th that way.....so why dont I do it? I expect to do it again somewhat when i return home in October. Meantime im not buying any dried fruit. High fat and sugar are a killer for sure. Anyway im back on the forum so mentally prepared. Last month i went oo far and got sloppy Lol

    Hi Ladies

Nice to hear from you all

I myself, like to have a cocktail so to speak as well. I try to drink more water during that time. And like Kapluzie says, watch what I eat as well. Gotta have some enjoyment

Abs.... wow that is a lot going on in your life. Especially not just one child but two with special needs. I can well understand the need to just have some time to relax and get away from stresses. I think that is fine , and you are a great parent. We all need a break at times.

Rose, I am like you and do worry about finances. It plays a large role in my gains I am sure. I have been up and down in this last run , but staying diligent. I keep weighing and have done some steak days, and then just P3. I need to come back down about 4lbs . The odd day I have to eat something different, I use the THM way of thinking and change up so my body is not just accustomed to one thing. So far has worked out for me.

I read so many posts, especially Leez and Grammy and Rose. I am working on finding that balance as well. Very determined this time. I know so far my snacks being cranberries/almonds and my oranges help me out snack wise.

Let's keep posting and Rose I know you will get there again.

    Hello everyone

Well just reporting in. I am still no better than last time I posted. A couple things I ate didn't help, so now have removed those items and carrying on.

I still need to come back down 6-7 lbs now. This week I will try to , (notice I say try) stay on track with water, exercise and my food plan. I am so much better with strict than freelance. This I know about myself. So today I am planning out my meals this week and stick to it.

I have been reading the Burn plans, and seriously thinking of trying to them to break this stall. I was thinking of doing the I-Burn first, then the D-Burn if that one doesn't do anything. I don't really think I need the H-Burn

I just need to get all those ingredients together so I can do this.

Well hope you all are doing better than myself.

Checking in to say I'm truckin' along. Up and down the same pound or so. But as long as I am not having to do correction days, I'm quite happy with that. Would I like to be back to LIW? Of course, but I'm not going to sweat the few extra pounds as long as my clothes still fit and the scale behaves reasonably well.

I've just added a new S breakfast to my repertoire: an eggfree lowcarb pancake that is worth eating, so it will be nice to be able to have bacon and maple/butter with pancakes again. I now finally have about 5 breakfast options I really like that I can rotate through. Some carb centered, some fat centered, so a nice mix of fuels.

Reporting in. I was just looking at my logs and it looks like my adjustments to THM are starting work.

    Here's the timeline:
I did the 20 days (which was about 35 or so) of THE PLAN this summer to a net loss of about half a pound. OK. Better than a gain. I identified several foods that I ate regularly that could have been problem foods.

I then did about 10 days or so of the turtle loser menus, but mixed up, not in a fuel cycle. Weight wise, that was a wash.

It was after that (around Sept 1) that I decided to continue with pulled back meals, only not for breakfast, in order to not be chasing my hunger all day. Still free-styling here, but pretty controlled as to planning what fuels and components to eat each day to keep things light but not leave the table hungry. I would seem to be ok for a while, and then a couple pounds would creep on and I would do a correction day. I did 3 of them in that time. It was not good because I would creep up again right after the corrections.

A couple weeks ago, after the last correction and deciding I was weary of all the meal controlling, I decide to keep my principle of a full breakfast, but with the other meals stop planning so much and just build a meal around whatever was appealing at the moment. I had intended to keep lunch and dinner lighter, but decided that I would just be really conscious of my satisfaction levels and stop there. Doing this, I have not had to do another correction day since. And I'm a lot happier. Its too soon to tell if this trend is going to last, but I'm currently about 2 pounds less than when I stopped THE PLAN near the end of August. I think eating what I want (instead of what I think is a better idea) has the effect of being satisfied with less. So I probably am eating somewhat lighter meals naturally instead of by decision.

Its not that the scale hasn't trended up several times. It has. But I resisted the urge to correct and just continued on course. And the scale has gradually started to stabilize and even trend down a bit. What a relief to not be doing corrections for this time. I am wondering if part of my issue was undereating. You actually can fill up on foods that have no nutritional value like fibers. I may not have been getting enough calories even though I wasn't hungry.

Another thing I've been doing for the last week is having a cup of warm golden milk every evening. The turmeric may be helping, but its a nice way to end the day. I'm surprised how much I like the flavor. I also add ginger, cardomom and vanilla to the basic recipe, and a tsp of local raw honey. I think it helps with controlling seasonal allergies. So I'm calling it medicinal.

I hope Rose reports in soon. I'm curious as to how she is doing.

Leez, that is fantastic your doing well and enjoying your own plan. That is the hard part some times, is finding what works best for us, and hoping it lasts.
I know turmeric, and raw honey are good for us. I was thinking the same thing this past week to add it in. I had read some good things about raw honey in the THM book.

I am down a few lbs this week. I did one steak day this week, with not big results. Then two days this week I had a Kombucha drink with my lunch. Didn't add anything new in this week at all.

I am still a few lbs over LIW, so going to continue the regime until I get there. Then will see from there what I am going to do. I have been sleeping a bit better this week as well. I have ordered some Lemongrass essential oil, as I heard if I mix it with Almond or jojoba oil and massage into my shoulders it helps with sleep. It is Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada, but not eating anything I shouldn't be and I am fine with that.

I am doing better this time, because I am not giving up so easily, and that is usually where the lbs really start creeping up on me and I lose hope. It's not happening this time.

Hope to hear from you all soon

Hey all. So I am still 4lbs over LIW but strugglin along. Last weekend after I posted I ate Carrots and onions, mushrooms, and salmon. One or all of them upped my weight.

So once I get on track again, I will test each one of those separately. For now excluding those items and continuing on .

Hope everyone is doing okay, and surviving any bad weather storms you may have been in?

We didn't get any bad storms last week, but many all around us had lots of snow and bad driving conditions. Currently we are sunny and a little cooler now. Fall weather.

It's most likely the salmon. In THE PLAN, Lyn-Genet says that 85% of her clients react to salmon. (It's one of my problem foods.) The others you mentioned are all on her low reactive list. I'd test salmon first and then then mushrooms if you need to go farther.

Great weather here, and probably better tomorrow. DH and I are planning a fall-leaf viewing daytrip. Should be fun.

    Hi everybody,
Sorry I've been out of touch for a while.
I'm 5 lbs. over LDW, which is an improvement over where I was. For the last 2 weeks, I've been eating a modified P3. No or little grains and potatoes, no sugars, limited fruits, lots of veggies and protein. Extra water. It always amazes me (I don't know why it does) how well my body responds if I just fuel it correctly. But like you all, the trick is eating the right things.

Oh, and I gave up wine. Wine is my gateway drug to high carb eating. I cut out the daily glass of wine and it's amazing how the weight drops off.

The school year is in full force around here. Two daughters in community college and still homeschooling the son and teaching two classes. I also run a teen club, which I have to leave for tonight. The kids will be getting together to watch a movie--either Monster House or Nightmare Before Christmas.

Rooting for all of us to fight the good fight.

    Hello All !
I'm not sure whether I love this time of year or hate it. lol. With the cooler weather, comfort foods are calling to me... working hard on healthier options and substitutes.. but that are just as satisfying.
Three kids in 3 different schools in 2 different towns is taking it's toll on my energy levels.. but I'm trying to combat with varied veggies and fruits..

Abs- wow 2 kids in college-- bless you and them! and still another at home. Sounds like you're in a great place..
Jayk- salmon.. I've had to give it up- too many consistent gains for me with it. I hope you have better luck than I did.

Leez- You're amazing. I truly admire your diligence with all the plans that you have tweaked for yourself. How are you doing lately?
