Hi all. Leez I understand how you feel. My last round was slow like that at the end as well. I did awesome in the first week of P2. But still I am happy to at least be where I am.

Well since my last post, I had a turn of events. My brother who has staph infection in his hip, went for Surgery #15 in the last 5 years. They were going to try and fit him in last Thursday/Friday.
Turned out he had it Friday. This surgeon put in Cement with Antibiotic pellets, in trying to fight the infection. He told my brother he has a long road ahead to recovery, one year, if they do things correctly.

So I spent those two days plus the weekend at a hospital that has no cafeteria, and not much good food to offer. I did the best I could with what to offer, and gained a lb over the entire time. So thankful it was only that.

Then this whole week , my coworker is off on holidays, so I am there all day at work, and being I had no time for grocery shopping to get some healthy lunches. I have still done well, but need to come down a lb or so until I feel comfortable again.

Leez, who knows you may even lose a bit going into P3. That happened only once in one of my rounds, but I took it lol.

    I wish you good luck.....

Sounds like you've had some major stress going on. That alone can affect the scale, even if you do everything else perfectly. I hope your brother gets all the right breaks as he navigates his recovery.

I occasionally have lost a couple pounds in the interim before P3, but I've never gotten to keep the loss. That would be lovely though.

Who knows? There have been other firsts in this round. There's always hope.

Thank you Leez. I hope he does well too.
Yes the stress and not enough sleep will do disaster.
I am just eating what I know I can get away with for the rest of the week and see what happens.
True enough, we can at least have hope..

Hi all!! I've been gone way to long! Lots happening here. As with all of you life got a hold of me and I didn't find the time to pop in. I read a few entrees today- Rose- I really haven't been on.. maybe 2-4 times looking at what taptalk notified me as new entrees. but I wasn't able to find this group on my phone.
As for the burning question- my weight... I kept most of the weight off. Last June I was my lowest at 121. I was thrilled I'm not going to lie. But alas I could not maintain as hard as I tried. And I tried!!! But I have come to realize that that weight isn't a realistic weight for me. So, I did go with the flow and gain some. A little too much.. but that's ok. I'm presently hovering around 140ish.. I prefer to be in the 130's... but I'm working on portion control and moderation for maintenance. Since I've last posted, I've been learning a lot about Essential Oils and natural alternatives.. as well as plant based diets (which I just can't seem to commit to on a long term basis). I hope all is well with you all-
Leez- I think I see you are doing another round?
Jayk- your profile pic is fabulous!!!
Rose- how's the art ? where are you presently? I'm not sure why, maybe because I wasn't on the forum and it got deleted, but I never received the pm... I would have responded if I knew.. sorry Rose
abs- what's happening in your neck of the woods?

So good to see you check in, kapluzie!

I'm just finishing up a round to get back to goal, and I made it! P3 starts tomorrow. I've got breakfast planned and ready to go.

I really identify with your maintenance struggle as I've been fighting the weight creep myself, but it does sound like you may have gotten to an unsustainable low in your last round. Especially if you are fine with being in the 130's. As we get older, our best weight does tend to be higher.

I found this online menopause calculator that really helped me get perspective on this. I thought I wanted to get lower than 135 this round, but after doing some research, it seems like for my age, that would put me in the too thin area. I'm at the lower end of normal for my statistics right now. And I really do look and feel good at this weight. So a big part of the battle can be mental, and accepting the current reality.

    For anyone interested:

Good luck in your nutritional explorations. I have done both vegetarian and vegan eating plans at various times. I have concluded that there isn't anything magical about either of them. I'm trying to learn to embrace a way to maintain while eating well and not being afraid of entire food groups. It's true that there are foods that are friendlier to your body than others, and I've learned to avoid a few things that always cause a gain reaction for me (like eggs and corn). There are so many other delicious things to eat, its pointless to mourn a few of them.

Welcome back kapluzie. Thanks for the compliment on my profile pic. It's great to hear from you.. I remember when you got down to 121 and I think you were talking about your bikini

Hey as long as your happy, that is the main thing. I realize one has to set a realistic goal weight. I kept striving for 130, but have to settle on 134-135.

I love essential oils, and have tried them for various reasons. I love the lavender for a calming effect, and I mix lemongrass with jojoba oil when my legs ache.

I had trouble finding this thread on tapatalk as well, but I think that was when it moved to HCG Diet Support Groups. Now I get notified and can see it.

I haven't heard from abs in a very long time, would be nice to see how she is doing.

Yes, I wore a bikini the whole summer. I was a solid size 4 and even fit into many size 2's.
My skin kept it's integrity and I was very happy. But like I said, it was too hard to maintain.
Could I do it? Probably.. but I want to be able to enjoy a social life. And that was impossible while maintaining at that weight.

I use essential oils for everything. My favorite is Frankincense. Helps with inflammation and rejuvenation on a cellular level.
If you have hot flashes -try one that's called progessence plus..it's wonderful!

Yay!!! Kapulzie...so happy to hear from you!!! We are still traveling. Thursday going from Chicago area to Minneapolis for another show. Sales decent in Geneva IL though weather always factors in when doing outdoor events. Probably cut down driving distances next year when i reach 75.

As always take my scale with me during travels. Usually dont weigh every day but every couple of days. Today 133.8 and yesterday was 135. Varies between 133 and 135 Eating about 1800 cal per day estimated. I could maintain the lower end if i stayed at 1600 because i am not that tall..but if i am hungry i will eat.

Good to stay in touch although i know we are all busy and..especially you with children at hme.

Rose you are so fortunate to be traveling with your husband as you do your work. Its like a double blessing. I had a job some years back that involved traveling and summer touring. I loved it and miss the excitement of that time. I love hearing about your travels and shows when you post. You are a inspiration to us in many ways. And you remind us that always being vigilant is what pays off when we are in maintenance mode. I guess we never get a vacation from that in life, do we?

You are so kind Leez... yes my husband is also an artist and he does most of the driving. I give him a 3 hr rest and i will drive about 150-200 miles daily when we have a full day. I love being home but admit after a few weeks i get the urge to go out on the road again. I so agree Leez that we must stay vigilant on maintenance as it is so easy to let the lbs slowly slide up after a year or so. Im going to try not to let that happen but will do what i have to do if it becomes an issue. YOu are an excellent moderator Leez and an encourager to many

I agree it can be hard to maintain. I will definitely look for that essential oil for hot flashes. Can't hurt and shouldn't cause weight gain lol.

I found a sample size of the Progressence Plus on ebay for $6. I'm going to give it a try. There were 2 available. I left one for you Jayk.
