That's great news on stabilizing Leez.
I hope you get better soon. I have been sick last few weeks. Not fun at all. First time in years for me as well

I looked up the symptoms of this years flu strain, and it pretty well matches mine, so I probably got exposed last week at church. I stayed home today so the "gift" will not keep giving. I've been wanting comfort foods all week, so lots of hot cereals and soups. I'm making some chili and "corn"bread for lunch today.

My cornbread hack: I found that if I grind some brown basmati and use it as some of the flour, it gives a popcorny fragrance to my little mug muffin and makes a nice cornbread substitute.

Chili and cornbread sound yummy Thanks for your hack Leez.. Might try it sometime

Well ladies, I gained way too much so doing another round. This is Day 2 of Loading for me and its been fun, as I have ate things I haven't in a long time. But hopefully one more time and I get it right.
Each time I do this I learn new things, and that gives me hope when its time for maintenance to put into effect.

It's the right time of year for me to try again, as I should be okay for Christmas. Otherwise I would wait until Jan/Feb to start a round. So now seemed like a good time.

I would have loved to try the Metabolism Plan, but now is just not a good time. I feel I wouldn't do it properly with the lunches. If I was at home all the time, I think I could do it.. I just really want to try it one day to see what foods I am reactive too. But slowly learning that as well, from experience.

Even with my last round I did very well in avoiding certain foods. I just the think the stress of certain things in my life this past summer and Menopause got the best of me again, so here we go again, lol.

This is a good time of year to do a round. I hope it goes quickly and smoothly for you. I have a few more weeks to decide if I want to do one before the Christmas holidays. But I'm fine with putting it off as long as I'm not gaining.

I think it might be harder to try doing the PLAN if you can't be home most of the time than it is to try to do P2 with a lot of meals out. I found the drinking schedule is so tricky to maneuver around. Following those water rules takes a lot of planning. You really have to be mentally up for it.

Wow, its been almost 2 months since I checked into this topic.

I'm happy to report that there is nothing much to report. I'm pretty stable now and enjoying my favorite foods. I have a light crossover every couple of days and that seem to help with the body confusion thing, not to mention it feels like a treat.

I got the new THM cookbook, but haven't tried much in it yet. I find I'm mostly happy with simple preparations of good quality fresh stuff. I will be making 2 recipes from the first cookbook this week though: Creamy Chicken & Wild Rice soup, and Pearl's Chili.

The only recipe I've tried from there is the Chicken Lazone. The flavor was good (kind of like a lightened up chicken paprikash) , but next time I make it I need to blacken the spices on the chicken more.

Good to hear from you Tanya, and look forward to seeing you in P4. You started this thread, and we have all been here together through all the phases. Just seemed like a good thread to keep in touch.
I am not starting P3 until after the weekend.
This whole forum has been great, and am glad we have it .

Being intentional about accountability is a real key for me too, Rose. How did you do after thanksgiving eating?

I have a big victory to report. I decided not to weigh on thanksgiving, and not to weigh again for a week. I have been eating pretty much the same meals and amounts for a while now, and keeping fairly steady on the scale. I wanted to test if that stability would continue if I took a break from the scale. This is huge for me. I've been a daily weigher since my first round in 2011.

This probably sounds silly, but I had to do this in steps. I had to first get away from my digital scale that registers every 3 ounces. A month or so ago, I started to just use my old spring scale. You can see maybe half-pound changes between the marks on the dial, but not much more specific. I found that made daily weighing a little more peaceful. I think doing that for a while made it seem possible to go a whole week without checking.

So today I did weigh, and I'm exactly where I was the day before thanksgiving last week: right at the top of my window. But that is great news that I didn't gain, because I have been eating well and things that I really like all week. I did have to give myself a pep talk before stepping on though. So much anxiety can be connected to wondering what that number is going to be, and all the logic in the world doesn't seem to overcome it.

So today I'm celebrating a little more mental freedom, and I'm going to try to wait until next week to weigh again. I don't know if I'll make it, but I'm going to give it a try.

@Jayk: you must be enjoying P3 by now. Hope its going well for you.

@tanyamac: Its so fun to see you check into this thread you started so long ago! Looking forward to your P4 reports!
