I like the Columbia County Flax Granola recipe in the new recipe section of the Plan book. (Golden flax because the flavor is milder.) I find that half that recipe will press thin enough into a parchment-lined jelly-roll pan (12x17) or two round trays in my dehydrator.

Sometimes I'll dehydrate and then put it in the oven for a bit to slightly brown/crisp it a bit more.

Talking scale has been good to me again on this week's weigh-in. It's so great to finally feel stable.

We were supposed to get an ice storm last night, but it looks like we dodged that bullet. I'm jealous of Rose's 90 degree weather! We are supposed to get a warm up in a couple of days, so I'm looking forward to ditching my indoor "snowpants" and venturing out again. Which might possibly include shopping for a trip to Jamaica coming up this May with my sister.

I'm fighting the creep again. I've recently gone above 140 which I have decided is my redline. I've been trying unsuccessfully to get back under it. I've even been getting in my walks again, but can't budge the number and I can tell that I'm only a couple pounds away from my clothes starting to feel uncomfortable again.

So I have decided to do a short round to deal with this creep before it gets any worse. This will be a good time to see if I can get my LIW far enough below 135 that I can settle out at a better place than around 140. I should be able to get back to 135 after the first week or so, so it seems doable. My best weight is around 130 or so. Anything much over that puts fluffy fat around my middle. My lowest weight via HCG has been 132, and I felt awesome there.

I have just enough time to get a short round plus a couple days in, and finish up P3 before the Jamaica trip. I have all my supplies lined up. So here we go.

Looked back to 2015-2017 Kept pretty stable till march of 2017 And past year stayed pretty steady till first of March again.....hmmmm Gave up allergy meds yesterday and went down a lb...also no protein bars.... that wont equal stability till i keep steady same or down for the next week or two. I dont mind doing a round every two to three years for the creeps but prefer not to since i am still in my window though not at goal.
If you do short round and reach your goal before the 23 days will you keep going to stabilize? Just curious

I wouldn't do a round if I was in my window either. But the reality is that I've been maintaining at a weight about 4-5 pounds above my LIW from the last round for a while now. I would have been ok staying there, but with the recent uptick, I'm about 12 pounds above what I think is my ideal, so I think a round is worth a go. I will be happy to lose 10, which I hopefully can expect from a shorter round. My last 30 day round netted me a 13.6 loss. But I won't be skipping this time, so I'll have a few days less losing time.

I'll go as long as I can past the 23 minimum days to make sure I'm done or mostly done with P3 before the trip. So that's looking like it will work out to about a 27 day round.

Not stretching it out with skip days will be a new experience for me. So, we'll see how that goes. It was really hard to get going this time. Especially after such a long stretch of enjoying eating while not gaining. But, I'm sucking it up and going for it.

I'm really glad the weather is finally warming. That will make it a lot easier to deal with the HCG freeze over the next month. I've been able to get out and walk the last couple of weeks. It makes all the difference to be able to soak up some sunshine.

Thx for update What donyou mean hcg freeze. Are you talking about how cold you feel when taking hcg? i am a little dense. I knownyou will do great on a short round. I have never done a skip day and last round i lost very little in 23 days but like 11 lbs which is slightly under my avg 1/2 lb day. Inusually dont gain much loading...either a lb or nothing . Im hoping to get thru another year without another round as my head not ready yet. That is why when im going up i tend to weigh every day which makes me a little crazy but it also makes me more conscious of what is going inmy mouth.

What do you mean hcg freeze. Are you talking about how cold you feel when taking hcg?
Yes, exactly. I get bone-chill cold from the effects of HCG. Its nice in a way, because that tells you its working, but it can be miserable to be freezing all the time unless you are soaking in a hot bath. Its more bearable when the weather isn't already chilling you.

I hear you about daily weighing making you crazy. I deal with that too. I was really enjoying only weighing once a week. It was a lot more peaceful.

Hey Leez... I wish you well on this round, and you have your trip to look forward too. That sounds so wonderful.

I worry about the creep as well. My jeans have been feeling a bit snug, and that is a sign for me. I haven't weighed in a week or so, but was feeling that extra weight around my waist. I think I will wait until Monday and report if my weight has gone crazy again
I feel like I am in my window, but afraid I might be over.

I need to get out walking but unfortunately, my weather hasn't been cooperating. We have had fog, and more snow, and now its raining tonight. Just too mucky outside yet to go walking.

Rose, glad your doing okay, and yes I am jealous of your weather.. I have another friend who lives in Miami, and am always telling him how lucky he is lol, except for the storms.

I haven't tried the Granola Flax again, will wait til I have proper oven to do it again.

So far its going well, even though I don't enjoy the discipline aspect of P2. My dose is spot on. I'm not experiencing any hunger and I have plenty of energy. I noticed I was easily able to move at a really good clip on my walk (in the sunshine!) today. I'm hoping for a really good first week again. It will be interesting to compare progress with last years round.

That feeling of your jeans getting snug is the worst, isn't it? I just hate that. I do think I'm making some maintenance progress though. I had several months where I was eating pretty freely and didn't gain. That's my real goal. To be able to eat well and peacefully without gaining, and not be consumed with food planning and manipulating strategies. I keep hoping I'll find that place with THM, since it is so flexible. I think I've gotten close this last time.

I am glad its going well for you Leez
OUr goals are about the same. This is way to soon for me after a round to have gained, but I am near that 140 mark again, so I am going to try and crack down this week and see how I am next weekend.

I am hoping I can get the weight down myself.
I was hoping for a walk this past weekend, but is way too wet here. Hope it dries up soon, so I can get back walking again. Well will have to do some indoor exercise this week for now

Ugh. I am all too familiar with that sinking feeling when you can't seem to get the scale to stop inching up. I thought I might be able to do it this time once it got warm enough to walk regularly, but I just couldn't hold out long enough.

Today's weigh in completed my first week of VLC. Total loss: 6.8 pounds. Net loss: 5.2. About a pound and a half less than my last round. Interesting that my load this time was just that-- a pound and a half. I actually lost more the first week of the last round where I started with a 1 pound loss from the load. The loss pattern was entirely different too. I'm not sure what that all means, but its interesting to me to compare.

Last round was around a pound a day for much of the first week and then a pause. This time I started with 2 two pound loss days, and its been half a pound a day since. It would be nice not to have the week two pause. I guess we'll see how it goes from here.

So I actually made it to day 11 before hitting some small gains and a 4 day stall. I was expecting it, because I was right near my old setpoint. The good news is that the stall broke today on VLCD 15 with a 2 pound loss. *rejoices*. That puts me a few ounces from my goal weight of 135, and down 10 pounds so far. The rest is gravy!

I like to compare loss records in my rounds, and when I was checking today, I notice that I'm actually a tad ahead of my losses for my round last spring. I find that interesting, because I did the lipotropics with my last round and thought it did increase my losses a bit. However, I'm doing just as well, and a little better this time with no lipo. So there you go. Maybe the end result will be more telling.

Great job Leez... I am so happy for you, and glad your losses are good.

I forgot to weigh in this morning, so need to tomorrow morning and see where I am at.

We are still having crappy weather, to put it mildly. I am so sick of winter.

I need the warm weather again
