Just had a thought today. I've been close to the weight I am right now for over 2 months now. That's pretty stable, actually. I should be happy.

I'd like to be lower, of course, but in an interesting note, I was this same weight when I got married multiple decades ago and I remember feeling pretty good about how I looked and felt then.

    Not too shabby!

Yes you should be happy, and that is a good thing. I am happy that you have been stable. Progress has been made. You know what you did in these last two months.

We may never get down to what we really want to be at, but if we can be happy where we are at, then that is a good thing

I hope all that made sense

I started my exercises again tonight. This was my only day off this week, but had a good day.

I myself do need to lose some lbs to get back to where I want to be, but will see how it goes into the New Year, before I decide if I need to do another round.

I haven't weighed since finishing up the stubborn loser menu 3-week experiment a couple weeks ago. Today I had a coffee date with talking scale, and she says I have kept that one pound net loss from the SLM weeks that started the last week of October. That is pretty awesome.

So here is the take-away. What I have found is that following the menus for that time has taught me that I can cut back on some portions that felt non-negotiable before. Like needing 2 slices of toast to feel like I'm not dieting. Or always having fruit with an E meal. So while I'm not exactly following the menus, I'm using some of the pull-back techniques learned from it.

On the bread front, I've started baking sourdough again. It is more filling than the sprouted breads, so I think that has helped with my bread satisfaction thresholds as I alternate it in with the Ezekiel 4:9 bread. Also, its pretty wonderful to have bread baking smells in the house, so there is a joy factor at work here too.

I'm also happy now with some lighter snacks at night, and have noticed I've been satisfied with smaller portions over all. Still drinking the boost juice and have mostly kept the pattern of keeping coffee to meal times, except when I forget or don't bother to make the shrinker concentrate.

I'm still a pound over my arbitrary 140 red line, but it seems hopeful that I've finally stopped the creep. That is huge.

Been awhile since i posted. Still nothing really to report

Been busy , and Christmas is coming. Looking at some posts by Leez and grammy1952 on the FMD diet, and thinking I may do that and see what happens. Can't hurt anyway

The reason I think I should try it, is that I have done this diet so many times as well, and perhaps might have a carb issue.

I always wanted to do the Plan, and would if I had more flexible days, but with working FMD would work better for me.

So that is my goal come the New year. I will do the FMD for 28 days. Already planning my menu's out.

I do the love the app on my phone, as it has everything right there and makes a shopping list.

    Thanks for that info Leez

    Hope everyone is doing well

I did my weekly weigh in today. I'm happy to say I'm still holding steady, just over 140.

Part of what makes me happy about that is that I've been working on baking my own sourdough bread, and so I've been eating more bread than I normally do. (Because, I mean, fresh warm bread--c'mon....) My body seems to like my spelt sourdough! That makes me so happy. And I'm getting so much better at it. The loaf I baked today had about a 20 hour fermentation and was the lightest and best one so far. I didn't know you could get a light, airy crumb from using totally wholegrain flour, so I'm really jazzed about that as well.

In the beginning of this baking experiment, I was motivated by having to pay almost $8 for a loaf of Ezekiel bread. I love my Ezekiel bread, but it just feels wrong to have to spend that much money on a loaf of bread. Even paying health store primo prices for specialty flours, I can do a sourdough loaf for between $2-3. I'm looking into buy grains/flours through Azure and if I buy a big enough bag (like 10-25 pounds), I can get most of what I need for around $1 a pound, which is about how much flour you need to make a loaf of sourdough. That is a big difference.

I think I'm settling into another key discovery--that my body really likes E meals (carb fuel). When I do too many S meals (fat fuel), I seem to start gaining. So I'm keeping it to one a day and maybe an S snack once in a while. The E meals work for me and I don't feel deprived. I think that is because you are allowed a tsp of fat in an E meal. In fact, you are encouraged to add that tsp of fat as it helps with nutrient absorption. It's amazing what you can do with that one tsp to make your meals "un-diety". One problem I had with the FMD was that for 4 days in a row, you have to stay away from all fat. It got to feeling pretty restrictive after a while, and I didn't find it sustainable long-term. Now I have a bit of fat ( or a bit more in S meals) everytime I eat, and it feels a lot more normal.

I do allow myself to very lightly cross-over occasionally, but I don't have big blowout crossovers (fat-starch combo at same meal). That is another strategy to stay satisfied and avoid feeling deprived.

Jayk, one huge benefit I got from doing the FMD was wiping out any carb sensitivity. And once that was fixed, I haven't had problems with it since. I don't regret anything about the time I spent trying it. I hope it works that way for you too.

Thanks Leez. I sure hope so too. That is the one reason I want to do it. I don't plan to do it longer, as I prefer the THM way of things.
If I lose as well, great. If not, I just hope it helps with the carbs, and then I will once more do the HCG and go from there.

I am happy your holding your own, and enjoying fresh warm bread. Omg, I sure miss that. Might have to try that as well. I agree the price of Sprouted bread is ridiculous, but I do buy it.

Well I wish you a Merry Christmas tomorrow Leez. Hope you have a Great one

Also wishing Rose, kapluzie and Tanya and everyone else a Merry Christmas as well, and all the "Best in 2019"

Hope everyone had a Great Christmas!!!

I had a lovely visit with my daughter and her boyfriend. Unfortunately short visit as they both had to work Boxing Day. But enjoyed what time we did have together

I have had the flu since, and today finally getting a bit of energy back. Back to work on the 2nd of January. I now wish I had booked an extra week off, but oh well.

I have made up my mind, and am going to do HCG first as I really need to get back into most of my clothes and tired of how my legs and midsection look lol

Will be starting to load on Jan 12th weekend as my daughter and I are going to the movies. We both really want to see "On the Basis of Sex" when it comes out. So that will be my weekend to indulge in good things.

Then I believe for P4 I will do the FMD for the 28 days. I may wait a week or so into P4 first, then start or may not.. See when we get to that point

Anyway that is my plan for now.

Glad you got to spend Christmas with family. That is the best.

Sounds like you have a doable plan in place. The times I did FMD, I also waited a couple weeks into P4 to start. It was nice to have a few weeks of complete freedom, and what I would do is start FMD when I saw the scale start to creep up.

I think it makes sense to lose down to your goal with HCG, then try to figure things out to stay there. Personally, I haven't been able to lose any significant amount of weight with THM. Its definitely designed for a slow loss trajectory. HCG is do and done in a few weeks.

One thing I've mused about is maybe the metabolic changes made while losing with HCG requires the body to do a lot of regrouping before systems are humming along well enough for it to actually work for weight loss with THM.

Thanks for your input. I was doing some reading on all your FMD rounds, and that's why I decided to wait until in P4 awhile before starting FMD

Yeah it made sense to me as well to get down to where I want to be First

You may be right about THM and using it to lose weight. It may take some time first to get our bodies tuned in first. Also in the new cookbook, they suggest certain meals etc to use if trying to lose weight. It definitely takes longer with THM but at least their plan gives you some freedom and good choices to make.

I love the Holiday PDF recipes they sent me . There are so many options to have food one can enjoy and feel good about eating.

I can't wait to get going on this. Always seems like a good time of year to do it. No real Holidays until Easter, and I can make it through Valentines just fine. I don't do much anyway for it.

Good time of year, but harder because you are dealing with the chill of both the weather and the HCG. I was miserable (body-temp wise) on the winter rounds I did. The only time I was ever warm was when I was soaking in a hot tub, so I spent a lot of time doing that. So sending you warm fuzzy wishes... ^_^

I'm just under a year out from my last HCG round, and I think its only now that I've seen some progress with THM, and we're only talking a couple pounds at most. But if my theory is correct that I needed adjustment time after HCG before other methods work for loss, I may be able to very gradually lose to where I want to be over the next year. Which, actually seems fine to me at this point.

I have come to your same conclusion, Leez. After HCG there is an adjustment period. One where you must be strict with your choices and in tune with how foods effect your own, individual body. It's been a new WOE for me since 2015. Did I like having to give up all the carbs, cookies and bread? NO. But now, my body does not crave those things but once in a while; that sure beats everyday and usually when I crave, it's not a true crave, it's because I'm so tired of eating the same foods. I've become more involved with exercising and that's my new crave. I'm very thankful I have been given the willpower and knowledge to maintain after a round of HCG. If after this round my body goes back to the 178, then i know that's where I need to be for it to run best!

    Happy New Year!
