Chiming in here, Jayk! In my experience, the maca root does help with hot flashes and night sweats, it took about two weeks for it make a difference for me and worked very well.
On the other hand, I drink reishi coffee everyday (for 18 months +) because I love the taste and it hasn't done a bit of good for any jiggly parts. They're still there :-(

Jayk- that's very interesting. Maca root. . . I've seen the powder form in my local fruit market. I haven't heard of the other product. The scale is bouncing. I'm down .8 then up 1.4, then nothing, then down .6
This is my second week with the scale bouncing. I'm starting to feel discouraged but I'm staying POP. Last night I felt some sugar cravings for the first time, but I did a big food shopping with my teenage boy so i believe that tne cravings were mental. I didn't give in.
This morning the scale didn't move. I was hoping that id see a loss, any loss, but maybe tomorrow.

Leez- i think it's wonderful that you found a doctor who will listen you what you have to say. I hope the doctor has some suggestions and you share with us. I enjoy reading your commentaries.

Rose- how are you? Are you back in Fl? Or are you on the road?

Our school year is almost done here and I'm looking forward to some R & R.

Haha ...jiggly parts! I'll have to try that coffee, I'm always looking for a great tasting coffee. I drink mine black with no sugar, so tne taste of the coffee really matters to me.
Too bad it didn't take away tne jigglies.

Hi tracy... good to hear the maca root helps with that. I am going to have to try the reishi coffee. Sorry to hear it hasn't helped with the jiggly parts. But did you notice if it helped with weight loss. According to the article, they say it doesn't matter what diet one is doing, and is supposed to help. But as we all know, or we wouldn't be on hcg, is that not all of us lose weight like others.

Hang in there, I know it can be frustrating when the scale is bouncing all over, or not at all. Hopefully its moving in inches then, instead of pounds...

I think my cravings at times are more mental as well, as I am not hungry, but think I need something. I felt a bit of a headache this morning, probably detoxing.

It was hotter than heck here yesterday, then when I went to bed... I had the chills, then later of course broke out in a sweat lol

I may try the maca root as well. I am going to try the detox water.

    It is 5 cups water,
3 cups strong brewed green tea,
    1 whole medium cucumber,
    juice of 1/2 lemon,
1/4 cup fresh mint leaves and
    1/2 tsp cayenne powder
Refrigerate one hour to infuse before drinking

Can't really see how that should affect me in P2

Wishing you good luck on the scale tomorrow, and I bet you are looking for some R & R... You sound very busy these days.

@rose - same hoping all is good, and wondering where you are at. How is your maintenance going?

wow, cant believe this thread is still on here!! i started it so many years ago!!
im going to share a little something ive recently learned in the last 8 months.

1 maca powder did nothing for me!! i still have bags of it. maybe will try again. i was taking it
to get my hmmm, how do i say this? female engines revving again.... did not work. my engine
light went on years ago and the more i did hcg the more it was dying. Didnt realize this till a few
months ago when i mentioned to my nutritional therapyst friend that i was going to this diet again.
She was horrified!! She has done this diet before and studied it. just sayin....

She keeps telling me not to do it as it messes up your hormones and i actually believe her.
yet, here i am, as i'm desperate to get this 25 lbs off.
i'm hoping the probiotic/prebiotic i am taking is going to help with my other issue.(probiotic actually is also helpingmy fibromyalgia
    and adrenal fatigue)
my body was not breaking down protiens at all. Gall bladder backed up big time my last round of doing the hcg. had many
    discussions with grammy over this.
I didnt lose it but found it was actually a flange between upper and lower intestine. that was not opening,
causing my unprocessed food to back up.
ive also found another product that is actually starting to turn the key on the old engine, but still wont quite
turnover. along with a cbd fluid (no oil)
anyhow thought i would just share (maybe overshared) some thoughts.
Praying to get this off to get into my summer clothes!! i refuse to buy new ones!!

Hi Tanya... so sorry for all your troubles. Wow Fibromyalgia and Adrenal Fatigue...One of those is enough, so can well imagine you having both.

I must say I have never heard of hcg messing up hormones, but I am certainly no expert here. I myself feel at my best while on it. I almost wish I could just keep taking it lol.

Did they fix the flange between your upper and lower intestine. That certainly would affect things for sure.

I am sure you will get there to reach your goal. I am hoping to fit in all my clothes again as well by end of month.

Yes you started this thread, and we have kept it going... It's been a great thread to discuss things

Hope everyone else is doing okay

Im finding none of the threads are as active as they were a few years ago. Kinda sad, but maybe everyone is fit and healthy!
Ive lost 5lbs first 5 days so pretty happy with that. Week 2 is usually so slow, hoping for 10 off before the old stall hits.
My flange issue seems to have resolved itself, which is great!
I know weekends are quiet on jere so hope everyone has a great one.

Glad to hear your issue has resolved itself and that is great loss already.

I have been eating just fish & chicken so far this round with veggies of course. And my apple at night. Other rounds I ate beef, except my very first one I did it this way and had a great loss, so thought I will try it that way again.

I am doing great here so far as well. I already feel less fat, and my stomach and luv handles have shrunk a bit already. My T-shirt which felt tight last week, feels better already and its only been a week since Monday, since I loaded Last Saturday and Sunday

I think the forum depends upon what time of year people are doing a round as well. I myself talk mostly in this thread, and try to answer people questions if I can in other threads. I have done the diet enough times, I myself mostly post to keep accountable as I don't have any questions about HCG

I did yard work all day, and cleaned house a bit after. Now I can just take it easy tomorrow.

    Enjoy your weekend!!

I feel the same way. I have completed several rounds throughout the years and post for accountability and support/ encouragement.
My round is going slow. The scale continues to bounce. I feel less bloated, so hopefully I'm losing inches. I can't tell if I've lost inches. Usually I can tell in P3. So we shall see.
Glad you ladies are moving along.

Your doing great kapluzie123... you will get there. Isn't it nice to feel less bloated. I know I like it. I know I keep saying this, but definitely going to take going into P4 slower this time. Again I have learned what foods I won't be eating for sure.

My husband is finally using his Dr HO I bought him for Christmas to help with the sciatica. He still has it, but is back working for a bit. Also been a nice break for me this week with him away, so I could do a few things and relax a bit. Plus I find the diet easier without cooking for someone else as well. A week into it, and at least the thinking I need a snack at night is a lot less now. I am not hungry, just my mind thinks I need it lol

Glad to hear the P2 is going well for you, Jayk. P4 is indeed the greatest challenge of the whole deal, isn't it?

Hang in there kapluzie....it will all be worth it in the end!

Checking in to say that over the past month or so, I have gradually been losing. Probably a bit more than 3 pounds in 6 weeks. I think it is due to increasing my thyroid meds, because my eating has been consistent to what I had been doing previously. Except that I had started culturing and drinking kefir. That would be the main food change.

Interestingly I have also been tentatively testing small amounts of some prior sensitivity foods and have found that I am good with some that I had been avoiding, like cauliflower, rye, and caraway seeds. I've even had a few bites of baked goods with egg in it and not reacted. Now, that excites me because eggs are right up there with my worst reactive foods. Maybe all that glutamine and collagen I've been choking down has finally done something!

My appointment with the functional clinic is this coming week. I'm planning to start the modified elimination diet they want me to do after that. And hopefully, I'll finally get the right meds adjustment. I've just about used up the last of the "contraband" and have a plan for dairy and grain subs during the month on the elimination diet. So, it should be fine, but I will miss bread and dairy for sure. I am allowed a half cup of beans a day, so I think I will be making a lot of chickpea flour pancakes.

That's great news Leez. 3 lbs is better than nothing. I sure hope it continues for you.

And being able to eat a few things you couldn't before. I agree with you on the bread and dairy. But I guess treat it like this diet, where we go without it. I have a new bread I am going to try once in P4. I do love being able to actually have a sandwich or wrap, and not with lettuce or something else lol. At least once in awhile.

TGIF... Looking forward to a couple days off.
