    That makes sense.
How are things in Texas? I hear COVID infections are increasing.

I was reading some medical journals, and it seems some are doing studies on which blood type is more susceptible to COVID. According to the study, type O blood is the least likely to be infected. When type O is infected they are more likely to have a mild case. The blood type that they feel is most at danger is A.
I thought this was interesting. So, if you're blood type A, please be extra careful.

I've been contemplating returning to hiking for some time. I haven't because I'm out of shape and don't have the confidence to complete a trail.
Yesterday, I took the chance and met some ladies I met on a fb hiking group. 2 wonderful ladies. 1 hikes all day 5-6 days out of the week, every week and another newbie like myself.
We hiked 4 miles at a leisurely pace. Half way through, I'd thought Id pass out. Contributing it to the vlcd. Thankfully, I packed my lunch and took a seat and ate half of it. I pressed on and completed the trail.
    I stayed POP.
The rest of the day my legs felt heavy. Kinda tired but my mind was ready to go!

Today, I feel great and my legs feel normal again.
    Planning on another hike tomorrow.

I have always wanted to hike the Grand Canyon. I promised myself if I completed my masters program, I'd do it!
(My graduate program was in a school in Arizona).
I've completed all my coursework with a 4.0 gpa and only have my clinical experience to complete in the fall. Graduation ceremony in Arizona should be Spring 2021. I am starting my training now to be ready to hike the canyon by Spring.
    Lofty goals!

Hiking should also help me maintain my weight losses and keep me in mental and physical shape.

You are ambitious Be careful with hiking on hcg they recommend no strenuous exercise if you werent already doing it. Maybe better to start on p3 with more food. But certainly kudos for pressing on,

Funny thing is I don't find hiking strenuous, I find it relaxing. I was not out of breath, I wasn't even sweating, well until the end- haha. But I guess after a couple of hours leisurely walking and not drinking enough (because I didn't want to pee-lol), took its toll. I started drinking water after I felt light-headed. Tomorrow, I will eat my grissini for breakfast right before we start the hike, to have something in my system and I will take a sip of cucumber-infused water every few steps to stay hydrated. If I feel light-headed again tomorrow, then I will put off hiking another month. I am motivated now, so of course, I want to take advantage.

The morning after my hike I was down 1.4- it was nice to see the drop as my losses have been slow. I had wondered if I wouldn't see a drop due to inflammation from the hike and soreness- but today my legs feel GREAT.

Anyway- summer is here and not much to do. My youngest boy can't do any activities as he lacerated his spleen. So I am not traveling around much. My 2 older boys have gotten themselves jobs and are fairly independent. My hubs and I have been trying to walk every other night by a beach to get some steps in.

I went hiking again today. Hiked a total of 5 1/2 miles. Visited 3 waterfalls - beautiful!

I realized the inclines were making me light- headed. I decided to eat half of my meal before the hike and then snack on then rest of my lunch during then hike. I also put cucumbers in my water. AND I drink about 100 ozs of water during the hikes. It's quite humid here, so hydration is a necessary component.

I'm going hiking again on Saturday.

Here are a few photos from my hike on Tuesday.
Unfortunately, the scale did not move the next morning but I was due for that.
Hopefully, tomorrow it will move in the right direction.
