Thanks, Leez, now I am not sure about doing a short round. I don't know if I have it in me to do another long one.

Maybe don't decide right now. You have a while before you can start again, and its perfectly fine to wait longer than the minimum time between rounds.

Morning LuLu, My first 2 rounds I did 30 days and lost from 154 to 135 round one and 142-127lb. round 2..........My most recent round I did with you I did a 40 day round and went from 152-135lb. As you can see........I never maintained my weight. I went back to drinking wine every night and not eating consistently "clean". I never paid that much attention to P3 and P4 didn't exist to me. So, use my hard earned lessons.......if your going to go through the pain of protocol......to lose the weight, also use P3 and P4 to find out how you are going to maintain the losses. And.....let's face the facts..........if you go back to eating/drinking PRE PROTOCOL, you will gain it back. So, 3rd times the charm here!!! I can NEVER go back to eating sugars and non veggie starches. I've accepted it. I"m ok with it. I'd rather be a size 4 than a size 8!!!! The point I didn't make yet is........you will do just fine with the 30 days......I didn't lose anymore with the longer round. However, I may have stabilized better.....there is no way to really tell because I'm taking P3, P4 and life after VERY SERIOUSLY. So, that could be why I feel like I stabilized better. If you only have 15-20 lbs. left to lose......I think you can hit that with a short round. You think like me.......thinking ahead, 2nd guessing etc.........Hope that helps. KMac

    Morning all fellow P 4ers.

I"m still below LIW. My mom took a turn for the worse and my dad had to call 911 yesterday. I found myself needing WINE last night. I can easily see how my parental stress is an issue for me. Since I'm looking/watching/owning that realization......I will stay in control today, and tomorrow and next week. I'm going to take care of myself and that means making good food choices. I have good choices in my refrigerator and I will eat them today.

I'll be off grid again for a few days, driving to visit another grad school with my daughter. I'll have to be careful........do NOT want to slip up while traveling. I'm treating P4 just like P3......I don't crave sweets and I can avoid bread, pastas, grains on a consistent basis as long as I can have my Tex Mex once a week. (with a margarita)! If only the rest of my life could be as easy as knowing what I need to eat. I tell myself that if I keep the proteins balanced with the carbs from veggies and keep a bit of healthy fats going....then my body will be satisfied and it won't feel like it is "missing" something. Maybe I"m brainwashing myself ?

One last thing, I've noticed that I'm starting to eat LESS veggies..........because you have to prepare them etc........so, I'm going to correct that. Anyone else seeing the veggies start to decrease? I think continuing to eat LOTS AND LOTS of veggies is a real KEY for me. Just requires a little shopping and food prep. Ex. I'd rather eat squash and onions sautéed then just about anything else! But, you gotta cook THAT. I think I will get on pintrest and find some new veggie dishes to change things up.

I'm rambling, gotta run, much to do. I'll check back in on saturday. EAT MORE VEGGIES EVERYONE!!!! KMac

Hi P4'ers. Glad we have a new thread to post to. I stabilized really well in P3 even with a trip to Mexico. Even though I'm in P4, I'm sticking with P3 foods as I would like to lose a bit more weight. However, I'll admit to struggling the last few weeks with keeping my wine intake down. Dang it, it's gonna be the death of me. I know I've gained and don't want to hop on the scale but also know that I need to get on the scale to keep myself on track. The good news is that I've started working out again and I'm rededicated to keeping the wine to the weekend. I'm here, it keeps me honest. I'm going to weigh in probably in the next few days when I get up the courage.

Welcome back Kmac! You are doing fantastic.

Hi Ladies, Karen here. I'm new to the thread but not to hcg. I haven't updated my signature (or photo), so my "facts" are all wrong. I have done probably 2 rounds per year of hGCG since 2013 and do great for awhile and then backslide to sugar and put on 10 lbs. and do another round to get it off. I "had" lost 54 lbs but gained 20 this past year. I have been away from hcg for 6 months and am planning a new round for March 17. First time ever with RX. I am 58, so I don't usually have 20 plus pound losses, usually 15 in 30 days.

For me, In P4, as long as I continued to eat protein and veggies as a staple, drink my water, limit fruit to 1-2 per day I was fine. If I add in nuts and cheese, I am ok with one serving of either a day. I can eat 1/2c of a starch (non gluten kind) and was fine just didn't do it every day. And that was any starch (potato, oat, rice, etc) BUT, once I started adding gluten products or sugars, I was hooked and headed for a Bender.

I think we (or I) have a tendency to stop cooking proteins and eating veggies and eat too much easy fix food like cheese and all of a sudden, the belly comes back. But for me, I am better off if I limit bread OR sugar to special events or once a week or less. (I'm STILL in denial that I need to go sugar free for life. Is there a 12 step program in my future???)

Look forward to your stories. And yea...if you are only taking 6 weeks or so off between rounds, it seems easier to me to just eat p3 in between rounds with an occasional starch.

There is no effect on your losses by doing a skip day. If anything, it extends the time where you can keep losing. In my opinion its worth doing a skip day no matter how long your round is.
Leez, I am heck bent on never doing another round!! But, if I ever have to......I think I will skip a day per week because that always you to extend the short round which is great. I agree with LuLu.......the long round was HARD. I ended up with so many tiny cheats and I never had that problem with the short rounds. LuLu......I'm looking forward to seeing your progress when it comes time for your next round. It feels so AMAZING to finally get to the "happy" weight. KMac

Oh Jenstewie...........me, you and our wine. Honestly...it's gotta be weekends only except for special occasions. I'm struggling too. I've yet to get to LIW....but, I know that the wine indulgence will get me there quick if I'm not careful. STINKING SUGAR. Moderation........my favorite word. We CAN AND MUST control the wine. I'm heading out of town but when I get back I'm going to experiment with alternatives to wine. I have friends that actually add La Croix to their wine glass to dilute it. YUCK. LOL. Glad I have a partner in crime. KMac

Klcarty...........YOU HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD. I'm right there with you. I do super great with proteins, veggies and fruit. I actually LOVE eating that way. But......it takes time, effort, meal planning and preparation. Period. Bottom line, if the healthy choices are ready and IN my refrigerator, I happily eat them. If they are not, I search for something else to eat. I'm heading for 52 years old in June.......I just can't eat anything I want and stay a size 4. And........I love me some size 4!!! I'm NOT a lazy person so I'm hell bent on keeping the refrigerator FULL of good choices......constantly. Because, I truly know that is the difference maker for me. Looking forward to following your progress. KMac

Hi, happy P4er's!! Looks like thinks are going well for everyone so far.

KMac, man you REALLY nailed it!! Always be prepared, always have healthy foods on-hand, always try doing the best for yourself you can Today is my day to restock the fresh veggies and Fage as a matter of fact.

Welcome, Klcarty, great seeing some "new" folks on here, too. I also wrestle the sugar demon, have given it up 99% worth, but once I start I just keep sliding down that slippery hill. FAR better to avoid it entirely than pay for it after the fact - those are words of experience on my part, eesh, hard lesson there.

AFM, just hanging here, staying between 170# - 171# I've tried one little milk chocolate bite size heart we received at dinner on Valentine's Day (yes, it WAS just as yummy as I envisioned it would be). Also, baked blue corn tortilla chips w/hummus - really, really good BUT I thought ahead and bought the individual size hummus containers so I wouldn't get myself in trouble. That works really well for me because I won't get a second one, but if it's a full sized container I'll just keep on eatin'. I've basically had what I've wanted, but am really sticking closely to P3 foods - I just love them and am very satisfied. Oh, and I've had whole wheat pita and Ezekiel bread with no issue as well. I think one night next week we're going to try some brown rice spaghetti, see how it affects both of us.

Medication has made a world of difference for hubby's newly diagnosed diabetes. His blood sugar levels are staying nice and low, he's eating really well, and feeling great. I've been juggling trying to keep the fat content right for him AND me, though. He also has high cholesterol, so needs to stay low fat. Me, I don't need low fat, but somewhere in the middle to balance it out. So, it can be a bit tough but I'm learning I guess. I've added a sprinkle of cheese, a small avocado, or sour cream to my foods to help. And use a string cheese for a snack during the day. I have my FUP with the colorectal surgeon tomorrow morning, wish me luck.

    KMac,

We all have our "struggle weaknesses" in P4, so you have many partners in crime. For some it sweets or breads, for some its alcohol, for others like me it's crunchy snacks (i.e. anything made by Frito Lay, Snyders, Herr's, Jays, Planters, Granny Goose, Utz, Poore Bros, Super Pretzel, etc. ). So just take comfort in the fact that just about everyone struggles with something , but we have to figure out how to deal with it to keep it from being the thing that derails all of our hard work.

For me, I may buy bagged snacks when on sale, but I make sure they have a long future expiration date, and I keep them out of site in a dark corner of my garage which is downstairs and nowhere near my kitchen or living room. If I'm tempted, just having to go downstairs into the dark garage, and push past boxes to get to them is deterrent enough most of the time. I do reward myself to eat one whole bag of chips about once a month or so. Do you have such easy access to wine that it makes it so hard to resist on a regular basis? If so, you may want to get it all out of site (or even out of the house), but allow yourself an occasional infrequent indulgence - but maybe share it with others at that time so you aren't tempted to polish off the whole thing by yourself in one sitting.

    Would that help you out?

Hi all! I agree with everyone and their comments about struggles and weaknesses. I was holding steady at 159.6 for three days and today was at 160.4. Man, do I love to see that number in the 50's, haven't seen it in a long long time. So why the increase today?I think it was the damn protein bar I ate for a snack yesterday OR I ate too many calories. I had a green apple with almond butter which I have eaten twice before so I don't think I am sensitive to those. I was hungry all afternoon yesterday because I had a salad with a small amount of tuna on it which did not fill me up. Well, today, I started back with My Fittness Pal and am writing everything I am eating. I got away from it in Phase 3 but need it, especially after reading the thread about being a Food Detective. I also did a hard hour workout doing interval training yesterday. It seems like every Phase is sooo scary.
