Thread: Maintenance P4 Check-in Group

Happy Friday P4ers! I hope you have a great weekend. I have two events this weekend so there will be some vodka intake. I hope to keep my eating solid to minimize the impact. I hope you are all doing fabulous. I know I'm ready for a weekend. I always am.

Happy Friday! I was down .4 and squeaking back into the 150's--barely. I did my third interval workout today, and I have to say it is so nice to have the energy back to complete a nice sweaty workout. In phase 2, I could barely finish the workout at a snails pace. I was surprised at the small loss today because I consumed a good amount of Chardonnay while getting my taxes done last night. I have been limiting my intake of wine to once or twice a week because of the sugar. I'll drink tequila with lime instead.

    Hi All,

I'm still hanging in there too. My weight is very steady but there is an inner demon wanting to lose more NOW! I'm planning to do another round about the 3rd week of March so I have to keep talking that demon down. I tried my hand at making a little cauliflower crust pizza today so we'll see what tomorrow brings. Happy Weekend everybody!

    Morning Everyone!

I'm back! So much happened since Wednesday. My mom is now home from the hospital and I'm afraid it's just going to be an endless cycle of being at home, getting sick, getting sick causes the dementia cloud to decrease arousal, which prompts the ER visit, which means a short hospital stay and then booted out before really ready..........................(you get the picture).

Anyway, I did have a lovey visit with my college friends who were very supportive of the dozens of phone calls I waded through attempting to manage the transition back to home from the hospital. I did walk in the mornings, had a small/light lunch each day and made "OK" dinner choices. (wine of course). I knew I would be ok on the scale when I got home because I just didn't overindulge in the calorie department. I came back to 2 pounds below LIW. WHEW!!

I'm headed out to the grocery store today to re-stock and I"m going to continue my "clean" eating......and goal to eat veggies with every meal. (add spinach or mushrooms with morning eggs). Food prep, food prep. I know it's the key for me. Have college friends coming in this weekend and we are hitting the rodeo and then heading to Galveston for a night.

Staying busy is helping distract me from worrying about my mom for sure. Also, I'm keeping KEEN focus on what I eat. I"m happy that I'm following through with staying on board with the forum. I think the combination of taking things VERY seriously in P3/P4 and following through on my goals of food prep has been the key. Happy Sunday! KMac

Yes, it's thin. Just takes rice sized cauliflower, egg, and cheese. It's pretty good and it did satisfy my urge for pizza.

Thanks, Kaye, I think I will make some this week, I do have some recipes pinned on Pintrest for the pizza. I was thinking of just eating regular thin crust pizza and see what happens, but I am sure it wouldn't be good. I start next week on phase 2 again so, maybe I will eat pizza on my loading day. I have stayed away from bad refined carbs though so maybe I won't.

KMac, so sorry to hear about your Mom, I know the cycle well, my Dad went through a similar experience. I really commend you for continuing to eat clean. I need to go to the store today and stock up, too.

Since last Thrusday, I have gained two pounds, but got up today and lost 1.5. I did an inflamation smoothie and Epsom salt bath Sunday. Thank goodness. I was not a good food detective because mixed in with trying 1/4 cup of sweet potato was wine and tequilla drinking and another Quest protein bar. I am not going to buy them anymore. If they are not in the house I won't eat them. I have to figure out something to eat mid afternoon that will satisfy my hunger other than a protein bar.

    Morning everyone,

Looks like we are all hanging in there. I had a rough day yesterday. Spent several hours on the phone increasing my learning curve when it comes to medicare/medicaid. (I used an elderly law attorney last year and transferred land deeds/money and did asset protection and my mom was able to qualify for Texas medicaid). It's a huge and expensive process but if anyone needs some advice/direction......PM me. I know a lot about it....its VERY DIFFICULT to navigate. And believe me, elderly folks don't have the stamina to fight for what they need. Too many hoops to jump through and idiots to deal with!!!!! RANT OVER. But, one of the caregivers I hired had a car wreck and that sent me over the top with stress.......my dad was at home with my mom and he can't care for her. (won't.........). Being 4 hours away is killing me. End result.....I had wine......and lots of it. So, my old trigger is still there......lurking. Back on the wagon today. I'm still 2 lbs. below LIW. I guess staying involved in the forum and deciding that clean eating is something I can live with...........WORKS. I've been out of town/traveled 4 times since P3 began. I"m either lucky or have finally learned my lesson. IT MATTERS WHAT YOU EAT. (and drink.....):! Keep the refrigerator stocked people and stay away from the WINE! KMac

LuLu, I've been out of town so much that I don't really have a schedule for regular snacks. What about a few cubes of cheese and an apple? I do several chicken breasts per week in a crock pot. cook high for 4 hours and cover the meat in broth. So, I can pull out a chunk of shredded chicken to go with some fruit. Let me know if you come up with something good. I have NOT added nuts back in during P4. I don't love them or hate them nor did I miss them. I figure since they are pretty high in fat/calories and lots of people get derailed by eating too much of them......I'm passing on that snack. But, they have those mini packages that could work. The one snack that I haven't tired of is the squash/onions I sauté/slightly caramelize in a skillet. Also, maybe pintrest has some great veggie snack ideas. I've told myself that I will take the time to experiment with more and new veggie dishes. I"m telling myself that when i'm hungry...............eat veggies!!!

Hi all. KMac thanks for the suggestions. Yesterday, I had a green apple with 2 Tablespoons of organic almond butter. I have had that probably 3 or 4 other times, and it is okay for me. I have also added pistachios back and do not react to them. With those it is all portion control, and so far so good. I definitely need to do as you suggested and have more readily available veggies. Today, I took my Mom shopping and didn't get home till 2:00 and heated up the broccoli and zucchini I roasted 2 days ago. I had 4 shrimp and put that on top and seasoned it up. That held me until dinner because it was late. I am 2 pounds under LIW, and have been averaging between 2-4. I really want some wine right now, but drank a decent amount last Thursday and Saturday so am having a cup of hibiscus tea. I have to retrain myself. Phase 2 starts again next week, got my supplies today, it's only my second (and hopefully last) round, and first time on my own. The scale at the clinic said I needed to lose 18 more pounds of fat so hopefully I can get it off. It's a short round so I'm hoping I can at least get off 15. The injections are for 25 days, but I am going to skip every 5 or 6 days to make them last longer. Is that okay?

KMac, you are really going through a lot and sound very knowledgeable. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Lulu, you can skip a day a week no matter how long your round is. The minimum amount of doses between skipping is 4.

I'm worried about it being too short of a round. Do either of the companies sell a 2000 bottle of injections?
