    Hi All,

I'm still hanging in with P3. I've found that it's not been difficult at all but being sick and staying away from the kitchen for two weeks helped. My weight has been very stable surprisingly with having the flu. I did make sure I ate a good portion of fats everyday. Yay bacon and avocados! I secretly wanted to lose a bit more while I was sick but it didn't happen so it looks like I'm stable so far. So one
more week of P3 and then 3 weeks of P4 and then on to round 2 the end of March. Got to keep my head in the game!

Hi Everyone! Briefly checking in from sunny and 80 degrees from Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. I gained a pound every day for the first three days and had to do a steak day Thursday. It was not bad, I had a deep tissue massage on the beach the same day. I think the combination was the reason for the 3.2 loss the next morning. I felt like I was prepping for a colonoscopy and couldn't leave the condo all morning. Down .4 this morning from that, but don't think that wil happen tomorrow.

This my first time doing the hcg diet. I'm about to start p3 and have been doing this through a doctor. I'm very confused because now that I've finished my shots and am almost done with my 72 hours of my continued 500 calorie diet, my doctor is telling me to eat no more than 900 calories for the next 3 weeks. I am at my goal weight and don't want to loose anymore weight. He said if I increase higher than 900 calories over the next 3 weeks I'll gain all the weight back. Everything I've read is saying to increase to 1200- 1500 gradually. has anyone else had an experience like this? How many calories are you all eating in p3? He also told me to stay on the same food list and to stay very low fat.

Jleigh........my clinic recommends something even harsher than that. However, you really do NOT need to worry about calories on P3. You will find yourself not all that hungry if you don't start out cheating and go for carbs/sugar. If you just keep eating proteins, fruits and veggies with some healthy fats in every meal.......you will find yourself full pretty quick and calories will simply NOT matter. I think people get in trouble when they RUSH to add different foods back in etc........My first week of P3 I ate when I was hungry and ate all the protein, veggies and fruits that I wanted and it probably didn't add up to over 1000 calories per day. Who knows....I wasn't counting calories. My point is that you CAN'T eat TOO much protein/veggies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You get full and need to stop eating when you just feel satisfied anyway. I hope that clears things up for you. Too many people worry about calories and etc..........again.....eat all the protein/veggies you want....add in some healthy fats and have a fruit snack.......That mindset makes it easy and stress free for me. Hope it works for you. Mac

    Morning EVERYONE,

I'm back. P3D15 for me. I was apprehensive about weighing this morning. I didn't get enough water the last few days, had wine, made some very good meal choices and a few not so good choices. Traveling with my daughter who is a "foodie" is a bit challenging and Nashville has some great places to eat!! Anyway, I'm STILL 1 lb. below LIW. whooowhooo. Deep sigh of relief for me and also a good feeling......maybe I am actually STABILIZING!!!!!!! I mean.....isn't that how this protocol is supposed to work?!!

So, tomorrow I leave again. This time to visit my parents and help my mother transition home from a nursing home. I'm so scared!! She is going to require so much sitter help each day and she basically needs help with EVERYTHING. But, she really wants to come home and nursing home life is really hard on her. Plus, she isn't getting that great of care!! She will get better care at home. The issue is..........The burden of making sure things go well at home is ON ME. Sigh. I'll do it, been doing it.

I'm headed to the grocery store to buy lots of good choices/foods for me to haul down in a cooler. I did this earlier in P3 and was successful eating clean while there. I probably won't have much time to eat anyway!!!!!!! I tend to NOT eat when I'm under this level of stress when I go there. So, I'm taking some quick healthy snacks to keep me fueled. I won't have exercise opportunity while there...but, will likely be on my feet all day long running around like a crazy person.

I'll be off grid again for a while. The only wifi there is when I use my phone hot spot to check email. No time for technology!!!

I looked back a few pages this morning and see everyone is doing well, recovering from the crud, and starting to exercise. It appears we are all on the right path!!! I haven't thought much about P4.......I'm not planning to change much. I really have no issues staying away from breads, pastas and sugars as long as I can have a few weekly splurges with my Tex Mex! I'm already eating cheese when I want to. I'll probably add peanut butter and yogurt because I like them and they are an easy snack. But, I'm just eating lots of proteins, veggies and some fruits now and not missing the carbs and sugars. I"m pretty sure that it wasn't the foods that de-railed me last time.........but the WINE. So, wine MUST remain hugely moderated.

Wish me luck and if so inclined, toss in a few prayers for peace, patience and acceptance.

I'll report back towards the end of the week. I"m staying ON forum........it helps me stay accountable to myself. Keep on keeping on........that healthy eating mindset. KMac

Hey, KMac! Great seeing you back, good luck with settling your mom in. Sure sounds like you have a good handle on P3, way to go!

Jligh30, the first P3 can be scary because you don't want to mess up the weight loss you've just accomplished - I totally understand because I felt the same!! But, as KMac said, eat clean when you're hungry, eat until satisfied, and you'll do great! I never staged the amount of calories I had per day, I focused more on the foods that I was adding. I made the mistake of having eggs, dairy, and nuts all within the first few days and was sooooo sick to my tummy. Once I stopped being ridiculous, I started adding just one of those items for a few days at a time, and things really leveled out.

I've read some of the clinics are really trying to have people keep their calories really low in P3 and that will not be helpful at all. Keeping too low on calories will actually make you GAIN weight because your body will hang onto everything.

AFM, still within range at 170.7# this morning. I made a decadent cheesecake a couple nights ago, have been snacking on that when I feel I need a little something. It had 4 8 oz. cream cheese blocks, 16 oz sour cream, 1 stick of butter, 1 1/2 c sweetener, 5 eggs, a dash of vanilla, and a dash of lemon juice. Bake at 300 in a water bath for about 1 1/2 hrs, it's truly wonderful - terrific texture and flavor, just let it cool then put in the fridge overnight. The recipe also said 2 T cornstarch, but I omitted that. I don't know what affect it'd have, but won't be adding it in the future either.

Mac, thanks for your advice. Since I've finally made it to my goal, I do t want to do anything to mess up my results.

Okay, steak day for me today - up 3# from LIW, likely the very, very yummy banana muffins I made yesterday of which I ate....um, more than three lets just say. Made with coconut flour, bananas, a few pecans, eggs, coconut oil, cream of tarter and baking soda, they were P3 friendly (end of P3 because of the bananas) but obviously if you over indulge, things go array. I thought about adjusting my LIW, since I've been staying between 170# - 171#. I dunno, may decide to anyway - I've been having a very difficult time with constipation as well, so that's also likely part of the increase. Right now, having a second cup of coffee and thinking about stuff.

Any thoughts on adjusting the LIW? Input is appreciated

If you've been consistently at at 170-1 range, that seems to be where your body wants to be right now. It makes sense to adjust your LIW to that going forward.

I think its a bad idea for me personally to make any kind of baked thing in P3. It almost always leads to overindulgence. But the muffins do sound yummy.

Thanks, Leez!! Yeah, I told myself the muffins were more for hubby than for me. And, I just kept telling myself that with each one I "tested". So I'm now looking at them as off limits, may freeze some for later on. I also tend to agree with adjusting my LIW - I just HATE having it in the 170's though, mentally, ugh. But, if that's where my body wants to be I just don't see the sense in fighting it right now.

    Thank you!

I agree with the no baked goods in P3. I know that's a real slippery slope for me so the longer I can stay away from them, the better for my stabilization and success. I've been drooling over some great looking recipes too but I just don't need them right now. I'd start by licking the spoon when mixing it up and then I'd be off and running. I'm going to try to not get back in that starting gate!

I got a great deal on some beautiful avocados this morning. There's a little restaurant that makes a wonderful salad that is P3 friendly. Take half the avocado and peel it, roll it around in toasted sesame seeds and then stuff it with tuna salad or chicken or shrimp......whatever you prefer. Delicious.
