    Rusty's Round Up

Hello All!!! I am Rusty and I started using hCG way back when in February 2012. I have lost more than 100 lbs. through 2 long rounds (the first was 70 days, the second was 100 + days). I would love to say I have kept it all off, but 15 lbs. managed to creep back, mainly through bad food choices.

Once I learned about hCG, I took some extra time to learn about a new way to eat for life. I choose Paleo eating (no grains, legumes, dairy, or sugar), and never looked back.

I will be returning to hCG in March of 2014, to get rid of about 40 lbs. That will put me in the 180 range. I am 5'9" tall and big boned, so I can carry that well, will I still be "fat" yeah, but no where near as fat as I once was. Recorded, I was 350 lbs. in June of 2007, and was MUCH heavier than that a few years before, but didn't have a scale. I have been as low as 191 and as high as 222 since losing on hCG.

I am getting my focus going, so I thought I would start a threat for those who need support, a reality check, or just some encouragement in the dark days.

When I talk about losing weight, I am coming from a health perspective. Vanity pounds don't register with me much. What's the saying? "You can never be too rich or too thin", maybe it's true, but I am not, nor do I know anyone with lots of money, but I have met some super skinny folks who are sickly and sad, so I disagree with half of that axiom.

People need to diet for a plethora of reasons, and I am respectful of that. But, again, my concern is my own and other people's health. I know obesity, intimately. I can feel my heart breaking when I see anyone who is obese and suffering. I want to reach out, but we all have to hit bottom in our own ways.

I hit bottom when I found out that I had hypertension, high cholesterol, and that no medical professional would help me with losing weight (I was directed to the "heart healthy" processed foods. I have learned that it was these foods that made me fat in the first place). I was told by my ob-gyn that hCG would NOT help, in fact, I would lose the weight and then gain it back. He was quite surprised a year later when I was 100 pounds lighter. He maintained that it was my change in diet NOT hCG that created the change. I agree to a point, if I had done all that work on hCG and lost the weight, and then went back to my old eating ways, I would have just wasted my time and money.

How much do you have to lose? 40, 50, 60, 100, 200, 300 lbs.? You can do it. You can do it no matter your age. You can do it no matter how much damage has been done. The future is wild with possibilities! Seize the day!

Well, it's day one on hCG, my first loading day. I took my drops, and had a BAB (big a$$ breakfast). Eggs, bacon, and hash browns. About 2 bites in, I was stuffed (OK, the 3 bacon strips before breakfast moved things along quickly).

I weighed in at 227, so that's my starting weight. I am hoping this will be like round one, where I lost 4 lbs. by my first VLC day. I have my original left to lose (25 lbs.) and my gained 23 lbs. since my ldw (204) at the end of 2012. While doing hCG, I am going to work on improving my diet, streamlining my Paleo eating. I think the biggest culprit is processed foods (bacon, sausage, and such). I also wasn't eating enough veggies, but tended to lean hard on proteins. Another is sweet potatoes and bananas.

    Here I go!

Good luck, Rusty! You're going to do great!

I've lost around 80 pounds, but rounds 4 and 5 were so frustrating that I ended up gaining most of them back. I just finished round 6 and so far P3 has been a roller coaster.

When not on a round of hcg, I tend toward paleo eating (but still cling to dairy), too, and also lean to hard on protiens.

    Hi Rusty!
As you know, I am not on protocol now and won't be for another 5 or 6 weeks. But I'm trying to stay attached so that I don't gain weight while I'm waiting to start my program when my radiation is done. My other thread seems to have died! It was so busy, now everyone is MIA.

My vacation was rather disappointing. The day we left I began to have excruciating knee/leg pain. Being 3000 miles away, I couldn't get medical attention, so during our whole vacation I was in great pain and walking was a nightmare. And being on a cruise ship walking was very necessary. My pride wouldn't allow me to be in a wheelchair. Oh well... The good news was I didn't gain weight on the cruise and have maintained since I have been home. I've had x-rays which didn't answer any questions, and am scheduled for a CT Scan tomorrow. Hopefully that will show what is causing the pain. In the meantime I'm on heavy-duty pain killers, so I can walk. I've completed my first week of radiation, with 5 more weeks to go. Sooooo, that's where I am.

Hope your p2 is going well and your 40 pounds will melt away.

    Blessings all!

Cpow, I am so sorry to hear about the knee pain. I had the same issue at Disneyland, and like the ship, walking is not avoidable! I hope your radiation goes along quickly and gets you great results. Hopefully, your knee pain will be resolved soon. Congrats on no gains. From what I understand of cruises, you did really well avoiding the fattening foods.

Thanks Rhiannon for the encouragement. That's why I love this forum! I am not sure about doing a round 4. I am hoping that I will have most of my other food issues worked out during P3. I may just live a P3 lifestyle, depending on how it goes. I would love to stay P2 for the rest of my life (albeit a few more calories), but by about day 80, I come down with major food boredom. I am planning about 60-ish days this round, to get the last bulk of weight off.

AFM, my second day of loading has begun. I have gained 1.2 pounds since yesterday (yecch), and might gain from today, although I don't have much planned (my Colonel made me a lovely omelet with steak and veggies and plenty of butter, plus a few pieces of bacon). I am hoping to grab a Carl's Jr. burger and sweet potato fries for lunch, and dinner is going to be pork chops (yum). I put coconut manna in my coffee this morning, just to add to my fat intake. It's hard to get the high caloric fat intake when you don't eat grains. I am finishing my last cuppa coffee, then I have to wait 30 minutes to take my drops, then another 30 minutes until I can eat or drink again, small price to pay for all the weight loss.

Tomorrow is VLCD 1 and I am anxious to start.

    Eyes on the prize all!

Rusty, do you generally do long rounds? I have always stuck with the shorter rounds because I get fatigued and scatterbrained after about 30 days. 40 days is the longest I've been able to go. I just noticed, we are in the same town!

Cpow, how frustrating. I hope your knee is feeling better sooon.

Well, howdy neighbor! Yeah, I like long rounds. I did 70 days my first round and 103 days my second. Long rounds just work real well for me because it's so easy to stay at P2. I think the long rounds work best because I have so much to lose, well, not as much now, but still, 50 + pounds is a lot to go. Even with those loses, I won't be "skinny", I am shooting for healthy, not swizzle stick. At 5'9" am supposed to be about 150 lbs., but I think that would be too thin, so I am aiming for the 170s, but would love to see the 160s, but that's just a vanity thing. Sure beats 325!!!!

Good morrow my friends! Today begins the hCG experience for me. I woke up to a .2 lb. increase (boo), but if I would have had a BM, I would have dropped weight (at least a bit). This morning, I will be busy running around, so I won't have time to sit and stew about not having breakfast (bye bye bacon). Lunch will be some chicken tenders and sliced cucumbers. Dinner I am not so sure about. I have a great butcher that I have to go to to pick up some ground beef, and measure out some patties.

I hope everyone has a great day.

    Good luck, Rusty!

Do you mind sharing who your butcher is? We've been buying quarters or sides of beef all at one, but might have to find a new supplier this spring.

I go to Viva on Norwood Ave. They carry 90% ground beef for 3.99/lb, which just went up .60/lb. The look on the butcher's face was priceless when I asked for 10 lbs. of ground beef, LOL. I only made 3 lbs. into patties, the rest I divided up into one pound portions for the fam.

I am looking into rosevillemeats.com for bulk buying (they also sell halves). It's not grass fed or anything, just lots o'cow.

I like Roseville Meats. We've shopped there from time to time. They have a great raw dog food I like to feed my dogs sometimes.

I should check out Viva. It's not far from where I live.

Good morning all! This morning sees me 4 lbs. lighter! VLCD 1 took care of my loading gains, so only 49 more pounds to go. Yesterday's menu was steak and cucumbers for lunch and chicken and salad (with salsa) for dinner. I had an orange and strawberries for my fruits.

I was feeling a bit more hungry, but shook it off. After investing so much into hCG and such, I am not pissing it away for a snack.

I am hoping week 1 will kick a$$ and take names.

    Eyes on the prize.
