    Hi gals,
Good going, Rusty! Bring it on, week 1!!! Gotta love week 1!
Rhinn, I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one who spoils her animals! I cook chicken breast for my cat... and make a thin gravy to go with it. My chubby kitty loves it!

It's kinda hard to stay engaged with HCG... since I'm not dieting. I need to get back on my Adkins eating - I have a bad attitude. I'm tired & I'm hurting. I'm not sure if the tiredness is due to the pain medication I'm taking or the radiation... but whatever it is, it's eating my lunch! I vacuumed & mopped my kitchen, laundry room & hall, and I am done-in! My knee still hurts badly and I still don't know why. I had a CT Scan yesterday, but I have not been given the results. Forgive me for whining... Guess I better begin to praise instead... Hubby just came through and said he'd finish the vacuuming for me. Thank you Lord for my sweet hubby!

    Have a great day, Ladies!
    Blessings!

One step at a time... One day at a time.

Cpow, don't give up. Hopefully, that CT scan will show an easily correctable problem. Adkin's is OK, just watch out for the high processed foods and snacks that they are pushing now. If you have an opportunity, check out Primal/Paleo eating. Primal is a bit easier in that you don't have to give up everything (paleo is no grains, legumes, sugar, or dairy), you can keep cheese and other milk products, and it's encouraged to do a 80/20 thing, where you stick to the rules 80% of the time, and 20% of the time you can have something grainy or sugary (like ice cream, I miss ice cream. Coconut based ice cream is $7 a pint!).
You are blessed with a wonderful hubby, mine would help if he could, but the vacuum cleaner is a complete mystery to the man, LOL.

Good morning! Did I ever tell you how much I love week 1? I do, I do! 3.2 lbs. gone! Woohoo. I am hoping to be into the teens by tomorrow, and headed for One-derland after that!

I hope everything is going well for everyone.

Week one is the BEST! Your enthusiasm is really making me look forward to April when I start my next (and hopfully last) round.

I am up .6 this morning, but I am still with in range. Probably the diet Pepsi I had last night at my knitting group. We meet at Panera, and I am very good at resisting the food. I usually have coffee, but last night decided on diet Pepsi. I don't know why. I don't even like it that much and yet, I had it. Guess I will stick with coffee and tea from now on.

I know the feeling. When we go out, I usually have iced tea or iced coffee. I stay away from artificial sweetners (although I use stevia while on hCG). Soda was my very first dump. I haven't had a soda since 2010, when I started learning about eating real food.

Don't you just love the looks you get at a restaurant? There are only certain places I eat, mainly places that can cater to my being Paleo (Carl's Jr is a favorite, they serve all their burgers low carb). Disneyland sells turkey legs and pork shanks, fruit salads, and even have fresh fruit stands. I did splurge on a Dole whipped ice cream-y thing at the Tiki Hut, my first go on major dairy since going Paleo (turns out I am not missing much, too chemical tasting, but good).

Rhiannon, you are doing so well, your next (and last) round is going to be awesome. Are you showing any sensitivity to anything? Eggs were my downfall after R2, though I didn't have a problem after R1.

Well, I had a terrible reaction to carrageenan which I wasn't really all that aware of. Usually I use only full fat, raw, organic milk and cream that I get at the Natural Foods Co-op. One day I was out of cream and told my husband to just pick some up at Bel Air. He got organic cream, but neither of us noticed it contained carrageenan. It never occurred to me that some organic creams have additives. I was unstable the whole time I was using that cream. As soon as I went back to the stuff with no additives, I settled back down.

Bell peppers cause a bit of a spike, but I come right back down the next day, so I eat them sparingly. I'm still figuring out what's a problem and what's now. Thankfully I've not had a problem with eggs. I love them.

VLCD 3 I am down another 2 lbs. That puts me in the 2-teens (219 to be exact). So far I am doing OK with cravings and impulse control, The plus side of hCG is learning real hunger signals rather than just wanting to eat, and taking that as being hungry.

I hope everyone is doing well.

I love how hcg has taught me about hunger signals and pretty much cured my emotional eating issues.

I am up almost 2 lbs this morning. I'm bummed, but it's not unexpected. I could feel it last night before bed. I'm having a pretty rough period this month and I'm still very crampy and bloated. Bleah! High protein day today to help deal with it.

Rusty: Good going!! You are doin' great! I have always loved your attitude! I'm sorry the vacuum doesn't fit your hubby's hand... how about dishwater? Can he figure that one out? Trust me... mine didn't come to me this way - it has taken 48+ years to get him here! He claims that he is almost "house-broken"!
Rhian: Hang in there - April will be here before we know it. I'm not sure when I will start my round. I have 4 or 5 weeks of radiation left. Assuming I'm healthy at the end of this, I'll probably begin the following week. My birthday is the 18th of April... I may wait until after that. How long a round do you plan to do?

I saw the doctor today. The CT scan showed moderate to severe osteoarthritis. The inflammation & fluid caused by the arthritis caused a Bakers Cyst - which is the bugger that has caused all the pain. Today I got a shot of cortisone that hopefully will bring down the inflammation, which will in turn cause the cyst to shrink. If that doesn't work he will pump it full of something else that should do the trick. If not that, then I'm looking at surgery. I'm trusting that the shot today did the trick. It is still sore, and will probably be more sore tomorrow - then it should feel better. I HOPE!!

I'm still rebelling against any diet... I have to correct my attitude soon. Haven't gained yet. The nurse today said I weigh less today than I did the first day I was at the radiation unit. But I need to tighten it up soon.

    Blessings all!

Rhiannon: I feel your pain. My girly time has been wacky since my son was born nearly 5 years ago. Chalk it up to water weight, not weight weight.

Cpow: I bet the cortisone does the trick. Hopefully, when the pain subsides, your attitude will improve. Waiting to start 'til after your b-day is a good idea. In fact, even better, start on your b-day then go to town on loading!!!

AFM: Down 1.6 lbs. I know I can't have super losses all the time (bummer), but hopefully, I will stick to a pound a day. That's how it was for me on R1, and I seem to be losing similar to R1 right now (on R2 I stalled in my first week, so weird). I am sticking to the rules like a crazy woman. Even making my hubby's and eldest son's lunches, I wear food service gloves so I don't get any fats on my skin from the mayo or chips. I even wear them to handle raw meat.

It's lonely without you two on protocol. But thank you both for the wonderful support. I will still be here in April when you guys get going, to rah rah you on!!!
