hey Nekko, there you are! I am glad to hear that P4 been doing you good. Stress is a bane to our weight loss. When doing Paleo, that's a popular topic (living stress free) as it releases extra cortisone into your system and sabotaging sleep and health progress. The problem is that there is no clear cut solution to being stress free. I have 2 little kids (4 and 6), a FIL who lives with us full time, a MIL who visits daily, a 20 yo autistic son, a full time working husband, homeschooling, and a house to take care of, stress? ARRRRGGGG!!!

Nope. veggies are on the list of stuff I gotta try.

Bummer on that stressful week - stress sucks. And like Rusty said, stress apparently spikes cortisol and causes gains. Meh. When I am stressed, I just seem to eat crap.

I hate weeks 3-6 on hcg, since the losses slow down so much. And then I am even more tempted to cut the round short. But I start playing around with protocol now, meaning mixing veggies, adding some forbidden stuff (a dash of balsamico, etc.) - and prefer that even if losses might slow. I just get so boooooored with food.

I gotta check my vials, I know I should have enough for another round... but even if that is far in the future, I started checking out purchasing options. And... my old source doesnt ship to Germany anymore, the other sources that do only accept visa, no master card. Will leave it for now, then loo into it again a couple months from now. For now, I still have 4-6 vials or something - enough for a long round this time, and another long round if it comes to that.

    Hi Everyone!

We had a really amazing trip! I am happy to report my initial weigh in shows me up only around 7 lbs. Considering we were on the road for two weeks and drove 5224.9 miles, I am pleased that it's not more. I'm pretty sure a lot of it is water retention since I know I did not drink as much water as usual since I didn't want to have to stop to pee every hour.

Although on occasion I indulged in foods I would not normally eat (my brother's favorite local pizza, local BBQ on cornbread, etc), I am really quite proud of myself for how well I did eat considering I was on vacation. Before hcg, my attitude had always been, "Heck, I'm on vacation - let's live it up!" and I would eat poorly, simply because I was on vacation. This trip my attitude was, if it's a local specialty, I will indulge, but if it's not, I'm going to eat how I normally would.

I am going to spend the next several days eating P3 style just to give my system a break and get my digestion back to normal. I'm planning to load over next weekend and start VLCD on Monday the 7th.

Hope everyone is doing well. I'm going to try to catch up and keep up now that I'm home.

Were we talking about stress? I am encountering all my emotional eating triggers right now - I want chocolate.

Client apparently stole one of my designs, and is being a major ******* about purchasing. This happens to me a lot, but never with as much evil intent as in this case. Still flabbergasted - and a doctor to boot, who prides himself on his "moral values" online. Some people have no shame.

But. No chocolate in my immediate future. So I am feeding my other addiction - Coke Zero. I am so not paleo when it comes to artificial sweetener.... I will try again in P3, but right now, dropping that, too, would completely throw me. WHich in itself should be a reason to get off that drug. I cannot stand stevia, so I basically have to go cold turkey.

Rusty: I wish there was an easy answer for dealing with stress. I've seen lots of recommendations like meditation, exercise, etc. That probably does help but I think sometimes we just need to get through it the best that we can. Kudos to you for doing homeschooling! Do you plan to continue homeschooling the little ones up until college? It sounds like you have an active, busy house! For me, it's just the DH and cats so it is my refuge from the turbulence of work.

Rhiannon: Congratulations on not gaining much on your vacation. I'm sure that the travelling did cause water weight gain that you will lose quickly. I think that you really hit the nail on the head for me about vacation. I'm finally under 200 pounds and I must ensure that I never go over that mark again. It's my proverbial line in the sand. So with the upcoming vacation, I plan to weigh in the first morning on the ship. I plan to not gain more than 10 pounds or stay under 200 pounds (whichever keeps me at my lower weight). I do intend to weigh every day. If you've ever cruised before, you know that there is the possibility to eat and drink non-stop! I plan to indulge some times but not every day, much like you mentioned that you did on your trip. I know I will gain and I'm OK with that. It's just the amount and how I will mitigate it once I get back. I'm sure I'll do a HCG round like you are planning on doing post vacation.

Cowgirl: I get bored with the food on HCG, too. At least the appetite is not there. It's really a mindset. I didn't feel quite up to it for my second round and it only lasted 30 days. I have a long break in-between rounds this time, so I think it will help with my attitude about food on HCG. I am considering going rogue and doing HCG 2.0 for round 3. Basically, you can eat more protein and only veggies up to 40 grams of carbs per day. I like the idea of more protein but am hesitant to drop the fruit. I think that my satisfaction level would be too low. My first round I did modifications of P&I from a weight loss clinic. I may go back to that protocol instead. I tried to keep on protocol during my second round since so many people seem to have problems on that round. I did get too bored and mentally could not get to the 40 days.

What kind of design work do you do? Dastardly doctor! I hate it when people are blatant hypocrites.

AFM: I did some major clothes shopping for the trip yesterday. Since we will be celebrating our 30th anniversary the second day on ship, I bought an expensive but very pretty dress. It is a fit and flare type of dress. I fit into a size 14!!

    New dress.jpg

I also got 3 days of weight lifting in this week. My "official" weigh in day for FMD is on Monday. Today I weighed in at 188.7. Today is day 28 of FMD so I could quit. I'm doing at least one more week. Hopefully that will give me the buffer that I need for the upcoming cruise.

Got to head in to work soon. I hope everyone has a happy Sunday!

Good morning everyone! It's like "old home week"!

Rhiann, I am so glad you enjoyed your trip! You didn't miss anything here in Sac town, it was business as usual with the funky weather (it's going to rain, but doesn't. Everything's going to clear up, but it rains.). I also agree about the water retention, in a week you'll be down. I am the same way when we travel, I just alter everything to Paleo, since that's my regular eating style. On our trip back from Disneyland, we stopped at Bob's Big Boy, and got a Big Boy burger ('cause we don't have one here), and lo and behold, they made it low carb for me, and had sweet potato fries! Our rule is to either eat what we bring, or eat out at new places we've never eaten at. McDonald's is McDonald's everywhere, so we only get drinks there (they're only a buck).

Cowgirl: That Dr. dude sucks. That is more than a gal should have to put up with! Ah, chocolate, every now and then I get that twinge too. I usually grab an orange and lump it, but I do feel your pain. Total bummer about not liking stevia, I use it on my strawberries.

Nekko, I have already graduated my eldest son, and even got him a diploma from the HSLDA (my homeschool lawyer's group that I keep on retainer), which is accepted as proof of attendance. My Littles are in prek and first grade. So I have another 12 years minimum left, maybe less if they move faster (my 1st grader is into 2nd grade math already). That dress is so cute!!! Color me green at your upcoming vacation! I want to cruise too, my hubby says no go on a cruise, but will consider a Disney Cruise (There's 15k that we don't have, LOL).

This morning met me with a 1.2 loss, yea!! I am comfortable in my old pants again, one's a size 18 (Levi's, which tend to run small, at least that's what I tell myself) and the other's a size 14 (it runs really big), but I am about 2 inches away from my regular 16's, and I have 8 more pairs of pants that I'll be wearing in 2 weeks!!! I really want to be in a 12-14 (or less would be good) by the end of my round.

Off to the shower and take the Littles to the park. Later all!

I managed to be down 2.2 lbs this morning, so I do think much of the water weight will come off in the next few days. Then I can start my next round! I can't wait. This round will put me lower than I have been in nearly 20 yrs.

Congrats on that size 14, Neko!

I am stalling... I am also officially off protocol. So probably my own fault, but it was either that or throwing in the towel. So now I only eat when hungry, which is usually once a day, and only lean protein and veggies. Yesterday was an apple in the afternoon, sashimi and spinach salad at night - there is no way in hell I am not actually losing on that, despite what the scale says.

Will order food again tonight, salad with greens and chicken.

P.S. I mainly do logos and illustrations, social media design, some web... whatever pays the bills.

She shoots-------She Scores!!!!! I made my first goal. With a 1.6 lb. drop, I made it to 204.4 (ldw-2012). Now my goal is to get to 191, my lowest ever adult weight. So, here's to saying goodbye to 13 lbs.!!!!!!

Way to go, Rusty!!! That is so exciting!

So cool, Rusty! My stall broke, too, 2 lbs down from yesterday - with wasabi mayo with my sashimi, to boot. No accounting for logic.

6 more kilos to go, then I am nicely below 100 kilos again... let's see how much longer that takes.

I was going to buy new jeans yesterday, but didn't find anything cheap (and I am not shelling out $90 for jeans that I will throw out again in 2 months), so went through my closet - and yes! I still had a pair that now fits again! Need to go through my other clothes... there might be more hidden gems in there.
