Ok, my oopsie rolls suck. They have no flavor, come out flat because no matter how long I whip the egg white it all goes to hell when I mix in the yolk. I only use them between layers of the chocolate mousse. What the heck am I doing wrong?

I was just on pinterest looking up how to grow avacados and pineapples from supermarket fruit. Looks FUN!!!! Nothing brings a smile to my face on a cold icky day than to have flowers blooming in my livingroom. I can't imagine what I'd be like with fruit in here!
I'm growing 2 pineapples right now from grocery store fruit!! My neighbors have them all over their yard and brought one to us and it was SO good! She told me how to do it and it's working! I will look up avocado because I put a pit in dirt but it did not grow. I'll have to check the proper way to do it. I'm avocado addicted!

Hey guys, a quick good morning! Today promises to be hellish schedule wise just like yesterday and tomorrow! I was exactly the same weight today- no gains from the 1/4 cup rice I ate and the MSG infested chicken teriyaki skewers. Plus I had blueberries at breakfast and raspberries for desert before bed and I didn't get to eat dinner until midnight when I got back from the office. So I am thinking there is a wheat problem for sure. I'll test again and see what happens.

    Have a good day everyone!!

It's all about 'folding' the yolks into the whites. You have to do it VERY gently so as to not break the whites...

I also don't know what "folding egg whites means" So I looked this up: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Yie5V37E1w

For oopsie rolls, it's the reverse. You fold the cream cheese batter into the whites.

Exactly! But very gently. You don't 'stir' the batter you lift and blend.

I could kiss you!!!! The new style will take some adjusting to but it's definately nicer not seeing all the adds and what not.

Lily, sadly we live in the pacific northwest and they won't grow outside. Fortunately, I have a very large living room and keep it toasty warm since I'm always cold from hcg LOL! My son thought he would be cute and planted his apple seeds in one of my flower pots last year and low and behold it grew two trees... yes I know they won't produce or grow right but it's still really cool that a tree even sprouted from it. I went to the store today and bought three different types of avacados to see if I could get them to sprout as well as a pineapple. Hubby is so good to me rewarding me with odd fruits to plant in my living room. LOL! I need to go read up to see if it's northern windows or southern windows for better growing. All my plants are in the northern ones now and are happy but I really want to have success with the new experiments even if I can't see fruit from them for oh say YEARS!!!!

I'm pretty stupid about some of this stuff... what part of the pineapple do you plant?

We are looking at getting some mini-banana trees. They're really cool looking with their giant leaves, and apparently grow fine in cold climates. We'd probably put them on the patio in the spring - fall and bring them in for winter. DH is a freaking monkey with the amount of bananas he consumes in a week, so he'd love it!

If the pineapple deal doesn't look too terribly difficult, I might just have to try it. Sounds like a pretty swift experiment.

I was looking at banana plants as well as mini lemon and lime trees. I will have a tropical climate in my living room even if it is snowing outside LOL!!

Anyone have any tips on keeping my steak tender? I cooked a top round tonight. I like it well done but it's always so tough

Nilly, marinade in pickle juice or something with acid, that will tender it up!

If you went to the default mobile style, scroll all the way to the bottom, in the middle of the page and you'll see a link for Full Site. Click that.
