    We definitely think the "not worrying" part of it was a major factor...but after a year of trying and dr. saying no chance from my end...for her to be pregnant 22 days after i started is pretty crazy! I went and researched that angle after she got pregnant and hcg is often used for male infertility.

    In any event, regardless how it happened...hard to argue with this as the result

    Thank you so much! Question for you. First and foremost, you lost 32 lbs in R1 - congratulations!! Did you abide by the strict protocol or did you find that you could vary any of the food items? Forgive me, I am really new, so afraid to do anything wrong. My prescription is pretty pricey so trying to use the cost as an incentive to stay focused.
    Thanks Gorgeous, I appreciate the kudos. I stayed pretty true to Dr. Simeon's list, although I did have pickles, since they are cucumbers, garlic and vinegar mainly (all approved foods) but reading the label is crucial to find pickles without sugar. I rarely ate all 500 calories because I just wasn't hungry. I DO use sweetener (Equal...don't throw tomatoes at me PLEASE) because I honestly couldn't stay on protocol without it. I was pretty textbook all the way, had the first week headaches and morning sickness, but generally I feel great when I'm on hCG. This round I have found that I miss my P3/P4 foods more than last time, but for 6 weeks I would eat moth balls if I had to! It's a temporary inconvenience for an AWESOME outcome. Happy losses to you, you are doing fabulous!

    What do you use for hand lotion? Could you give me the name of the product you are using and where I might be able to find it. I stared at the shelf at walmart last night and was just so overwhelmed by all there is to pick from. Would have taken me an hour to read the back of all those labels to see if oil was in them. This winter weather is causing such dry skin for me and I'm afraid to use just anything. I'd hate to have lotion of all things cause me to not continue losing. down -1.5 this morning ... woohoo thats a total of -6.5 in 5 days. Loving this diet now that the headaches have quit and the hungries have calmed down. Feels really good to be eating clean for the first time in my life.
    Good morning. I use alba Botanica. I get it from Whole Foods. It's wonderful. I think it is really for face and neck but I use it for my hands as well. It is oil free and I read on the forums here somewhere that it was an approved brand. Here is an image of it. It can also be purchased at drugstore.com

    GenXbrat, keep us updated about your pet. I'm sending positive vibes for his/her return home!!
    We found our ferret!! A guy from one of the business the next street over says he was taking stuff to the trash this morning and found him hiding in the corner by the dumpster! He's hungry, a bit dehydrated, and very tired but no worse for the wear for how long he's been outside!! Thank you all for your positive thoughts!!

    Oh, and I'm down .6 lbs today too!!

    Smooth Moves did its work. I wonder what my weight would have been if I hadn't used it.

    Just got back from my doctor's office. He had called me in because my white count was a bit high, suggestive of an infection, (hi, it's my foot) but it wasn't something massive to worry about.

    We chatted about feet and he gave me a cream to help with the pain, though he knows I won't take it during P2. I am metabolizing things faster, which is why the steroid he injected as part of the arthrocentesis is already almost losing ground 2 weeks later.

    He will do a referral to a rheumatologist to get it checked out further. According to him, they will do an arthrocentesis of their own and will refer me back to my family doctor if they are unable to secure a sample. If that fails they will suggest either NSAIDs for a year (ew), or...get this....chemotherapy (omg, omg...with a side of omg), so yeah we smile nod and move on with absolutely no intent of doing chemotherapy. Just the mention of chemotherapy makes my foot feel fine, it's all better and stuff *smiles as he hobbles away at top speed*. So rest, ice, elevation are my plans at this point until R2 is done.

    He took my BP (it's fine), my weight (I'm fluffier since loading) and asked me to return at the halfway mark for another weight and BP, then at the end of P2 for the same plus a full set of blood tests. He also requested that I journal through it, so I guess Swab's Journal Round 2 is going to be born.

    First VLCD meal down. While I dig eating clean, I did not miss my Ken and Barbie-sized portion of blandness.

    What wonderful news. Now all we need is my foot to be fixed and a ferret to be found and life will be delicious

I have been averaging between 450 -575 calories, under 50 Carbs, 85g protein, and under 10g of fat per day. . . So far, it's working!
    Do you not worry about all the negative talk about soy? I know it was enough to push us off of soy products, unless they are fermented.

    Our soy milk became almond milk overnight and we haven't looked back once.

    LOL... oh how true! Hope your foot feels better --- lots of rest and elevation!

    I am having a hard time today dreaming of carbs today. It's not helping that the lunch today at work (Free Lunch Thursdays) was a pasta bar (my fav) with chicken marsala (drool). Then going to Gram's house tonight prior to Disney on Ice for the kids (wahhhoooo) and she's making pasta with meatballs... OMG kill me now. I completely avoided the cafe at work and didn't have lunch until 2pm when all of the evidence was gone, and may just eat dinner tonight on the porch. Going to have DH make me a steak for dinner (3.5 oz of course) so at least I feel like it's a bit more substance.

    VLCD day 4 here, and down another 2lbs this morning... motivation, motivation, motivation!

    Soon enough, I'll see skinny staring back at me!

    GOALS:
    - 199.8 -- Into ONEderland! -- GOAL REACHED DURING R1!
    - 185 --- pre-pregnancy weight prior to my DD 04/11
    - 173.6 --- NORMAL BMI!! 04/30
    - 165 --- Post-college weight
    - 155 --- I can do it!!!

    R1-01/02 thru 2/22 with 9 day PI 221.0 starting weight --> 188.0 ending weight - 33lbs GONE
    R2-04/09 thru 05/11 190.6 starting weight (post-load) -->

    Holy cow you guys. I put some Sweet Leaf vanilla liquid stevia in my coffee this morning, and I am now bloated like a puffer fish and have horrible gas pains! Someone come poke my belly with an ice pick, please.
