It seems amazing to me that we can eat like that and not gain weight. I am so looking forward to P3!!!! I have been considering stopping the drops and getting into P3 earlier than I had thought, but I really want to get into the 140s before the end of this round, so a week more of P2 ....

I can't believe that I have to up my calories!! I ate so much yesterday that I lost count of calories. How is this possible? My day looked something like this:
Breakfast: 5 little almond flour, cottage cheese, and egg pancakes cooked in coconut oil, and 1/2 of a star fruit (445 calories, 30.2 G fat, 22.7 G protein, 11.5 carbs)
Lunch: 1 piece left over "pizza", 1 whole grilled zucchini, 1 oz cheese, chocolate mouse (435 calories, 33.5 fat,26.7 Protein, 6.5 carbs)
Dinner: Grilled chicken 4 oz topped with a cream sauce- 1/4 cup cream, 2 pieces bacon, handful pine nuts, 2 mushrooms, 2 1/2 sun dried tomatoes, grilled asparagus, cauliflower mashed potatoes and chocolate mouse for desert- I stopped counting here because I got lazy and was not sure exactly how much cream I used in the sauce
snack- 4 more pancakes and 1/2 oz cheese

I thought I'd be up today so imagine my shock at being down!! Almonds added- check!! I think I've added in everything I wanted to on P3 at this point, so I guess I can start getting original. Almond crackers and cheese here I come!

Let's see, cut up cucumber, I think I remember the EAS Sports Active single serving shakes were pretty OK (though not Stevia sweetened), you can make crackers with almond flour and have those along with cheese for a snack, berries are almond the lowest glycemic index foods so strawberries, blueberries and raspberries along with a piece of cheese to balance out the blood sugar, of course mozzarella sticks. If you look into which one you are using then rolled up deli meat possibly. I have not checked it yet, but Boar's Head might have less crap in it than the usual deli meat. Honestly, when I'm on the run, I make a protein smoothie and bring it with me. But I don't travel like you do either. Oh, wait- what about the coconut milk chocolate mouse. MMMM, that is like the best desert I've ever had and it should hold throughout the day- in a container obviously! Also, I experimented with almond flour yesterday and made pancakes. Those could easily be made and put in a bag for later. Ok, out of ideas for the moment!

Well that doesn't sound right! That sounds like a great meal. I'm betting that it's the salt. I eat a lot of Feta, and realized quickly that I had to up my water to account for it or I would show a gain the next day because of the salt content in both Feta and Bacon. Also the lamb likely has some salty spices as well. Drink, drink, drink and see what happens tomorrow. Also, just read that if alcohol is taken when food is digesting, it slows the metabolism down 75% and most of that food ends up as fat because the body give priority processing to the alcohol. Who knew? I had red wine with dinner the other night.......I won't do that again!!

Alright.. so yesterday was my skip day and I went with the fam out to a big flea market around here and as I fought to find something / anything I could eat and watched everyone else eat really awesome stuff I realized that I'm done. I only have 3 days left of P2 but it's time to move on and since yesterday was a skip day that means that around 11:00am on Monday I will be on P3. It's just time. I'm having trouble staying focused. On the plus side, I've lost another 1.8 lbs in the last two days and I'm 1lb away from my mini goal / halfway point. I know that I could probably easily make that 1lb if I went another 3 days but honestly I just don't feel like I can at this point. I'm just ready to be done. SO, I'm looking so forward to a latte tomorrow morning you have no idea. I will use truvia and a latte which means I'm just adding milk. Important question here: Do I need to use full fat milk? I gather from what you are saying that I should get whole milk right? Also, does that mean that milk should be my only addition tomorrow?

Wow...how this diet continues to amaze me. Yesterday was a bad day for p2 and I knew it going into it. I had half a resolve to behave but I really have gotten past beating me up for a bad day. We were to go see Star Wars in 3D. Movies = milk duds, diet soda and POPCORN! So Hubby wanted to feed the kids before the movie. We checked around and Red Robin had a decent salad that I could pick croutons off of and still be pretty safe. It was AWESOME actually! Then I ate my normal movie treats and after omg everyone wanted to go to Cold Stone Creamery. Did you know they have fat free sugar free ice cream? My body has always welcomed milk products with open arms so I said why not, I've messed up enough for the day. Alas... I'm DOWN 0.8 lb today. HOW!!! I did skip dinner and wasn't even hungry and still not starving this morning either. I think I got pretty lucky. I will not be repeating this any day soon.

For those of you in p3, you are opening my eyes to all my past failings in p3 and I know now that I can do it, the right way. Keep up all the hard work!

P3 people, I just had this for breakfast and it was SO GOOD!! I had 1/2 an eggplant and the 2 egg mix- and I ate it all along with 2 pieces bacon.

    "French Toast"

    1 eggplant
    Celtic sea salt
    2 eggs
    1 tsp vanilla
Truvia or Stevia glycerite to taste
    butter/coconut oil
    cinnamon (optional)

Peel eggplant and cut into slices. Sprinkle a small amount of salt on the eggplant. Turn eggplant pieces over and sprinkle a small amount on the other side. Let eggplant rest for two minutes. Mix eggs, vanilla, cinnamon, and stevia in a bowl. Melt butter in frying pan on medium heat.

Put your eggplant in egg mixture and poke holes into it with a knife or fork. This allows the mixture to permeate the eggplant. Cook “french toast” until golden brown. Then flip and do the same on the other side. Top with cinnamon, nutmeg, cream cheese, nut butter or low sugar fruit. Enjoy! Makes 2 servings.

    NUTRITIONAL COMPARISON (per serving):
Using White Bread = 170 calories, 23 carbs, 3 fiber
    Using EGGPLANT = 90 calories, 6 carbs, 3 fiber

Well I've really been struggling to stay on P2, between some hunger and just stress it's been hard, and I've cheated quite a bit. I haven't gained and have now lost a bit more, but am struggling with the decision to keep going or stop. I want to be in P4 at Easter, and not for a whole lot longer after as I know I need another round, or two. I'm 1/3 of the way to my end goal, which is crazy, am finally in the 160's (barely) and would like to get another week in before I stop.

Ortho - your pics are amazing! You inspire me. I think we're the same height and seeing your transformation is awesome. I want to be like you lol.

People at work have actually started to notice my weightloss, only took 20 pounds... sigh...

    Update...

Well, I wanted the full experience in my second round, and today I got my first experience of being 2.2 pounds over my LIW.

    <insert freak out here>

What's sad is that it was me making adjustments being fixated on carbohydrates that had me eating more of stuff I would normally pass on. My estrogen unit pulled out the Frank's Red Hot Sauce, so I ate a tonne of the no carb dressing to cool myself down a bit. Yeah, that was not a good choice both calorically, or health-wise (was woken up at about 3:00am with heartburn).

So my first "steak" day! Well, not really since the doctor wants me to take Colchicine multiple times per day, and you need to eat to stop it from causing ulcers in your gastrointestinal tract. I'm thinking a third of a steak and apple or tomato will not be sufficient to stave off the pill ripping a hole in me.

My plan is to eat about 10 effective carbs, 1000 calories, use limited dairy (only butter), and eat "clean" today.

    http://www.myfitnesspal.com/food/diary/lokimischief

I seriously never learn lol. Last P3 I had the same problem where I got fixated on carbs and started all sorts of crap (bacon comes to mind) that I would never eat normally.

LOL- Doesn't it suck to find that you've wasted $ on something gross?? I tossed my coconut milk in the carton as well. Ick!! Get the Silk unsweet 35 calories a cup kind. All the others have sugar or starch in them.

You'll get there for sure this week. You are so close! I actually think I might be able to live with eating like this for the rest of my life. I think this is the first time I've EVER eaten a whole foods diet. Seriously, I was raised being afraid of fat, eating cereal every morning for breakfast, living on fat free cheese, milk, yogurt, etc. My Mom thinks that everything is "horrible for you", and I grew up with a fear of food and at the same time a love of food.
I've always been into really good quality food and shop a Whole Foods when ever possible. I drive 1 1/2 hours to go there sometimes! But somehow I am realizing that my entire life- since I was about 15- has been a series of strict miserable dieting, then going off and eating every bit of crap I can find (pizza, chips, sweets, etc.) in preparation for going back on another diet because once I'm dieting, I can't have that stuff. I actually don't think I've EVER EVER cooked as much as I have been these last 6+ weeks and I am certain that I have never gone this long without going out to eat- EVER!! I think this is the first time that my body has ever had the opportunity to detox from all the chemicals added to foods, all the sugar in my fat free system, and all the constant carbs. I have not been hungry at all since I started P3 and as a matter of fact I feel full all the time- and after the first 2 days I've been LOSING weight every day! I have been eating all the food I've avoided my entire life. Oils, butter, Bacon, meat........I'm reading the book by Maria Emmerich called Secrets to a Healthy Metabolism and I think it's the best book I've ever read. Better than Weight Loss Apocalypse in my opinion. She explains the science behind why I'm still losing weight while eating fat. I actually feel like I have a shot at fixing the 25 years of damage I've inadvertently inflicted on my poor body. This diet has been a real eye opener for me. I've felt hopeless with a slow metabolism and PCOS and now a thyroid problem for such along time now. But since I started P3 last week I've had to stop the thyroid meds completely because it appears to have repaired itself. I'm eating the most delicious food I've ever had, full all the time and still losing weight! I could cry in happiness that this is working for me and all of you too. There is nothing worse than feeling uncomfortable in your own skin and you all know what I mean. Avoiding a party or standing in the corner to be invisible because you are uncomfortable and feel like you look horrible. And for me, avoiding seeing friends from High School when I take a trip home because I'm so embarrassed about my body and unable to fix it no matter how hard I try. I actually cancelled my planned 20 year High School reunion last year because I just could not be seen weighing 215 lbs. Even if I did show up in my cute little Audi TT, and talk about how I'm president of a company, I'd still have to get out of the car at some point and all my hard work and accomplishments would go out the window when old classmates gaze at my huge hips! Sigh. Anyway, it's beginning to look like it was not my body failing me, but me failing my body!

    CHECK THIS OUT!

    Totally worthwhile in my eyes...

"I received an email from a woman named Laura, who had recently moved to a new city for a new job. She was overwhelmed with anxiety and asked me to write her a song to help her calm down."

    August 11th

    Hello Ze,

Im a fan of Songs You Already Know. If you make another, could you please make a song for "Song for when you're overwhelmed"? A nice sweet calmdown song. An audio-hug. A song that huddles around you and whispers "shhhhhhh, calm the **** down. s'okay".

    Thanks for considering, Mister Frank.

    August 12th

it feels like days dont start. and days dont end. there is no sense of time.

it feels like bring dropped into a dark void. completely dark. and all the darkness has weight, a thickness. not liquid. not a solid. something else. and youre trapped. and the longer you are there you know the black is just growing and growing and growing. and theres nothing you can do. the hole would just be bigger to dig out of with every passing hour. but you cant even do that.

watching a pane of glass sllllooowwwwlllllyyyyyyyy have a crack weasel through it. but you dont know when it will lose its stability.
    Zefrank:
"I asked her to tell me what kinds of thoughts went through her mind when she was anxious."

    August 12th

Why bother, nothing will ever be completed.
I dont want to get out of bed.
What would happen if I just didnt show up today?
Why isnt anyone stepping in, they all know I can't do all of this.
    Stop. Please stop.
I want to punch all of you in the neck. Only the dumpster understands.
    Don't.

Does anyone understand that I am a human being, and I require things like sleep. Food. Social interaction. solitude.
    Can I have a hug?
    Zefrank:
"I wrote a sketch of a chorus and quietly asked some people in my audience to record themselves singing along while wearing headphones. I received about thirty recordings. I mixed the tracks together (w/o any pitch correction) to create the chorus. While I worked on the song and collected more voices, Laura thought I had forgotten about her."

    September 9th

    Hi Mr.Frank,

has the overwhelmed song project died? Im sorry for pestering.

    big sigh
    big sigh

    not any better, here.

    xxoxx

    Zefrank:
"I sent the final song to her in an email before releasing it to the public. She liked it Thank you to everyone who participated! Just Breathe."

    September 17th

    Ze,

This is one of the nicest things anyone has ever done for me. I can't thank you enough. I don't even know how to. To feel like everything is spinning out, and have a relative stranger do this, with other total strangers participating *is* overwhelming. In an incredible way.

Thank you so so so so much.
    Laura
Zefrank is an online performance artist, and this is by far my favourite thing he has ever done. It is so touching, and the results are something that I go to when I'm feeling overwhelmed.
